Hes very articuate, good in front of the camera, wicked sense of humor and is basically the facing front of EG which is very important in promoting the team It's the same with Machine, they need a punching bag and having someone to joke about <3

It's more the concept of buying a player right after he wins a tournament. Sure liquid did it in 2010 with tlo and huk, but eg's done it with idra, puma, huk, and now thorzain
To be fair, Carmac hinted at Thorzain's contract being over well before he won Dreamhack, and Thorzain has already proven himself a top notch foreigner beforehand as well. To go further, do you expect a team to only pursue players that won't provide something in return? You know, a ROI?

Thorzain's contract was ending (atleast this is perceived to be the case by Carmac's hint, even though he wrongly used the word "poach"). Being prepared to make the transition smooth isn't a negative thing. Should EG have just waited around for two weeks while he was teamless before signing him simply so that people like you and I on the internet can be EXTRA EXTRA SURE that it wasn't a "poach"? It didn't cancel his current contract with mouz from what I hear.. Think of it as the same situation as Zenio and Taeja with respect to no longer being on their previous team, but simply that membership on the following team was much more immediate.

People arguing over this is such a joke. You want to keep your best players? Simple pay them or they leave its not too hard to grasp. SC2 is a business just like everything else, players and teams are run by money you dont like it then dont watch.

wooooooooooooooooooooooow
Dammit, I wanted mouz to be huge, this is terrible news for that idea. Great news for EG though.

I feel like EG takes players that are already good, then milks them until they fade away into the abyss... Just my personal opinon ofcourse. If you look at TL, everyone is so happy and friendly and still pretty damn good. It's just easier to root for TL players.

Go to an MLG and try to get Tyler's autograph.
It's kind of ignorant to think that EG is 'milking' players. If anything it is the other way around. The team provides so much to a player it's kind of obnoxious to act like EG is some group of assholes that's just out to make a profit.
From my personal experience at MLG team EG is the most approachable , friendliest , and most thankfull group of players / managers / organizers you will ever meet.
Try having an actual conversation with some of them some time before bashing them because you have some unjustifiable hate towards them.

Even if you were somewhat articulate and could form a coherent argument I still bet it would be stupid.

Negotiation periods exist in contracts for a reason. They let players try to get good deals while they still have the financial security of the remaining period of their current contract.
There is absolutely nothing "more noble" about buying a player when they're unemployed. Whether it was intentional or not, TL picked up Zenio and Taeja when they had less leverage at the bargaining table.

You're painfully silly. Your blatant disregard for common sense and basic understanding of contracts has given me no other choice than to tell you that you are wrong.

I can't help but feel EG only goes after big names when they do well.
Puma wins NASL and then ends up on EG shortly after, Huk was the only foreigner in GSL for a while and was very consistent during the MLG season, and then Thorzain wins DH.
Sorry, but I have to be a bit skeptical about them.
Still hope Thorzain succeeds and continues to bring a lot of enjoyable games to this community and grows more as a player in skill.

Understandable concern IMO. Since EG houses some of my favorite players, its always tough to see them "slump" a bit. However, I simply don't see the cause for concern when it comes to thorzain (nor do I see a concern for Huk and Puma but that's another subject.)
He's going to be moving to Korean and training in the Slayers house. To me, you have to be a pretty serious debbie downer to be pessimistic about Thorzain's training situation.
Also, its not completely uncommon to see players slump after big contracts. It takes a very rare person to bring their level of dedication to the next level after getting paid. This is true in all sports.
