Aside from the freak outs and how insanely late this whole slew of nice features is, I am particularly interested in finding out if all of the information provided by Browder a few months ago is still valid. Just to break it down quickly...
"One of the most significant additions will be the all new Arcade feature which includes improved custom game visibility, ratings, reviews, game instructions, screenshot support, and more. Patch 1.5 will also include significant improvements throughout the overall user interface, streaming support, antialiasing, editor and modding upgrades, new art tools, and more."
As well as the local IP connection and some of the chat channel functionality. Maybe time to ask Blizz a few questions if these ideas are still in motion?

unranked matchmaking, sounds great, i usually run into noobs when playing custom melee

No point to complain. Blizzard is charging us for something that supposed to be included on in WoL and I predicted it when I first time saw 40k B.C stone VS BN 2.0. I will buy game anyway. I know it and they know it too ;-)

True, I wonder if they "accidentally neglected" these "features" that would've probably taken them 2 weeks for 2 years because they wanted to make sure there was a complete switch to HotS.
|
Glad its here, but its about fucking time.
|
I really don't think they're going to charge for it. They never called them HotS features, just features that would ship around HotS.
|
Awesome changes!
But the true people to thank are: LoL - Riot showed Blizzard how to promote the game as an e-sport. Forced Blizzard to patch things up with OGN and Kespa. DotA 2 - Valve showed that the Dota 2 Beta interface >>>> two year old Battle.net 0.2
Also I hope they will fix the custom games system (patch 1.5 maybe?), make bnet even more sociable, esports streams in bnet and automated tournaments.

I could probably see the unranked ladder being a HotS only feature.

Yes and no, it will be the same opponents more or less, but you won't lose points/rank. So now I no longer have to practice vs an opponent 4-5 leagues below me in a custom game (assuming no team members are online) I hope you get the option to chose your opponents race however, would be nice to just queue up tvz after tvz after tvz when I want to practice just my TvZ
theres still no fucking point then. if unranked matches provide the same opponents as ladder you might as well play ladder. you should be allowed to customize everything including the strenght of your opponents and race and maybe even map.

What part of "no" don't you understand? They've only come out and stated that bluntly a thousand times. Give it a rest.

Like you can't do that now?

He's mixing up the local-IP finder with actual LAN functionality. Blizzard is still working on the local-IP finder as far as we know.

I don't care if this all happens when HotS hits. It likely won't. HOWEVER, the fact that they are working on these features is fucking awesome.

Yes, and thank you. So Ownos before you go on about something you obviously didn't even comprehend in my post, at least try to get a little more information before losing your cool. Do you think I would try to disguise "LAN" with some kind of weird pseudo-language like "local IP?"
Oh and the link http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/4592755

I bet maybe one or two of these features make it into HotS.
