That would be so nice, ZvZ is not fun to play even in unranked match =(

That's amazing, but these are ALL features we were expecting for release(maybe except resume from replay).
I'm extremely glad they are finally releasing them, but I'm really disappointed in Blizzard for having us wait 2years for something that was expected at release...

Still no BNet tournaments or decent chat system. Guess we'll have to wait for LoTV for that since Blizzard obviously doesn't care about updating the game between expansions.
The current pay scheme means they only care if you buy the game. They could care less whether you keep playing it.

Essentially, this is all the stuff we've been asking for.
this is me ^_^

Or they only have so many people and what they are building is what they have the people to build. Also I like the chat system as a whole which by the way was released between expansions.

Sounds good. Better late then never I guess.

That's kind of the point I made. They only make money on expansion releases so they only allocate resources for expansions. They could be drowning in money if they went free to play with the multiplayer portion of the game. Sell skins, custom games, new game music, new icons, critters, etc. There's tons of cosmetic stuff they could sell and if they had a store where people could sell their creations they wouldn't even have to do anything except cash massive checks.
Imagine seeing 30 roaches surrounded by a donut of smiley faces. People would take out a mortgage on their house to buy that skin. I've got plenty of other skin ideas that would be amazing. You see someone use a new skin in a tourney and suddenly everyone and their dog would rush to buy it.
Also the chat system is objectively a failure because hardly anyone uses it.

Honestly, I'll believe it when I see it. I was at BlizzCon 2010 shortly after the release of SCII WoL and they were promising most of these same things to be released 'shortly'. Two years later, we are still waiting and they are promising them for release of HoTS!!

Yes, I think we all go through three stages here.
1) OMG, FINALLY IT IS SO GREAT ALL THESE FEATURES!!!!
2) Wait, this is HotS. They said already in beta that most of these should be there for release of WoL, or soon after. Well, better late than never...
3) Wait, they are saying the exact same thing about HotS as they were saying about WoL... So, nothing has happened in the last 2 years? I'll believe this when I am watching a replay together with my friends, not before...

Whereee are the BNet tournaments? Come on... we're asking for stuff that was in warcraft3 :|

Being able to filter out what matchup you want to play would make the unranked ladder the best place to play. Feel uncomfortable with TvP? Just choose to play against protoss on the unranked ladder for 10 days. Imagine the amount of MU practice you could get and how amazing the unranked ladder would be if choosing your opponent's race were to be implemented. A man can dream.

What are people talking about? They NEVER promised any of this stuff. People ASKED for it.
The closest thing to a promise was a 'looking into' replay stuff.

Im not saying they are building for expansions. Im saying that what probably happend for WoL is that they planned to put a lot of these features in it but at some point you actually have to release the game and they only have so many people to make new features. Also the main reason you are probably seeing a lot of these features around HotS is because it is much easier to test features like these during a beta and of course anything that is almost done now they might as well release in the beta and package it with HotS.
Its not like they intentionally held off designing these features just so they would have soemthing to market for an expansinon. Its more like they built everything essential then added everything they could before they eventually had to release a game.

Like you can't do that now?
like no?
i can only choose my race and click find match. do you even play the game?
and don't tell me customgames. if i go there blindly i get random noobs and if not i have to wait for a praticepartner to go online who doesn't want to ladder atm, that takes way too much time...

While it would be really cool to have a function that find a person playing the correct race, of the correct skill, wanting to play right now on the correct map, it may not be that easy to find at any point.
The normal ladder just finds a person of the right skill, that wants to play ladder as well. If you filter out a specific race you want to play, you get only a third of the people to search among, and you can expect three times as long queue time. If you also want to select one of the 9 ladder maps, there will again be a ninth of the players available, and you are looking at a queue time 27 times the ladder. And that is assuming everyone will start playing these custom games instead of the ladder... If people spend on average a third (for example) of the time in these custom "select everything" mode, you will have another factor 3 fewer people, and almost 100 times as long queue time.
And if you are in the situation that people (for example) want to train on TvP a lot, but the protoss (at the requested skill level) don't feel the need to play PvT (at that map) in this custom mode as much, then a lot of the terrans just wont have anyone to play with. I mean, if for example during a day, blizzard server get's 2500 TvP requests (on that map), but only 1500 PvT requests, there will be 1000 sad terrans in the queue..
Similar problem if for example there are a lot more diamond level players requesting games vs master lvl players, than there are master level players requesting games vs diamond level players. The diamond level players will sit in the queue forever, together with other diamond players, waiting for those few master level players wanting to bash some noobs. The problem could of course be the opposite, just saying that if there are not the same number of players on each side of the matchup, in race or skill, there will be people that wont find their game).
So while it would be a really cool feature, there are problems that are kindof out of blizzards control. Or maybe they will find some smart solution to it, or just hope it wont be a big problem. Personally I don't really see a way in which it can be done though. Maybe it is just easier to find an opponent by contacting a teamie that is laddering, or on skype.

In Brood War u had game names and often even bans if u picked the wrong race and no one ever complained that it takes too much time to find games... also there was no ladder anxiety. Well... it was but nobody cried about it on the forums. It's not blizzard's fault somebody is afraid of playing or just wanting to train certain MU on a certain map. Play the game as u like or don't play it, just don't make a big deal out of it. This is not directed at the quoted guy, he just triggered this response.
