Now i like to give Blizzard a hard time for a lot of things but that is just wrong. They have worked on WOL for 2 years now, from balance to engine improvements. Verry few companies do that, for free.
You must be confused... every company does patches for free. The only thing that companies charge for are add-ons (DLC's).... I have not see any company that charges for their own patches... If so, do tell.
Again, very few companies support their games as much as Blizz (bw, d2 for what? 10 years for free) Others support the games through things like DLC (DLC at lunch...WTF??) while most just give up on games after a few months or a year and release a "new" version that's basicaly the same with minor improvements. Just my opinion.
In what way did blizzard support BW in recent years, though? Having a couple of hacker ridden servers that only a few people still play on? Releasing patches that created new problems instead of fixing the existing ones? Threatening the Korean scene and making it abandon BW in the long run?
BW could do without such support.
Bw is dead profesionally.Outdated graphics and gameplay. If blizzard would have not introduced sc2 games such as lol or dota 2 would haves taken over the kr scene.Besides bw doesn't sell anymore. How can they make money with a game that doesn't sell?
Well this is all nice and cozy and better late then never but seriously? All is forgiven now?
It took 2 years and another $60 for them to add features we already had before...
Also whatever 'nice feeling' this update gave me was immediately squashed when Blizzard announced D3 won't have PvP until likely 2013.. I bet with an expansion pack!
It seems to be blizzards MO these days to release games with less content and then magically add it all back in for another $60.
Since blizzard makes good games we are all mindless zombies who will continue to fall for this model, all the while they laugh at us.

Unfortunately the wow generated money has proven to be too much of a temptation.Sc3 will have monthly fees.

If these changes are all implemented as they say why is it so wrong to be happy about it? I had hoped the expansion would bring more than just new units and it looks like that is going to happen. Well worth the $40 that it's going to cost not $60.
Also I'm still unsure why people want PvP in D3 to begin with but that's a different topic.

Because it's not like they've confirmed that PvP will be a free patch and they aim to have it out way before 2013. You should really stop making up situations in your head that confirm your own beliefs.
Don't forget that expansions are only $40, not $60.

i dont understand people like you. They aim to have it ... Blizzard failed in Everything they aimed for in the last 3 years and you bring the argument "they aim to have it ..." . oO and to take 40$ for an expansion is expansive not cheap. Dont forget we get the same game we allready buyed with some new units and 1 or 2 new features thats all. Also the singleplayer part they did not bring the the original.

It could be $5, it's still a joke. I'm happy they finally after 2+ years (by the time it's released) re-added features we had a decade ago. That's not facetious, I am happy they're being added but I'm far to cynical to start doing backflips about it. It's a bandage on an amputated leg.
The diablo 3 release blunders aside, if you think they're going to get pvp out by dec 2012, you're being criminally naive. Jay Wilson was interviewed as saying they expect 'late 2012', well if 'late 2012' is the same as '3rd quarter 2011' was for release, we're looking at mid 2013.

Actually, he's been quoted as a few months after release, and who's to say that the features aren't coming to WoL users either? Because the wording from the blog post seems to imply they are.
If it takes them a while to add PvP, so be it. I would rather get a good system than an incomplete system. Either way, it's been confirmed for a free patch, and not expo content so my point still stands.

you're wrong, you're using outdated information.
"Jay Wilson said: "The PvP system is still in a period of change and there is no definite schedule for its launch. It is hoped PVP mode will be in the game by the end of 2012. Of course I am not quite sure about that."
And I would argue that continually releasing games with less features then their predecessors is fundamentally wrong. You may want everything to be 'good' and not an 'incomplete system' but wouldn't you consider WoL and D3 'incomplete' since they didn't have all the features they were 'meant' to have? I mean SC:BW and BNET 1.0 had more features, the very features that are hopefully being added to SC2 well after 2 years of release, isn't that an 'incomplete' release? :boggle:

That is out of date translated material, that's from his press tour in Asia. He later confirmed in many interviews that they plan to have it out much earlier. Either way, I feel that D3 has plenty more features than D2, and I feel it will be a complete game.

Love it!! This all sounds great. I have a feeling the unranked matched games will play out a little like the "who moved my cheese" video, lol, still sounds like a good way to test off-races or seemingly crazy opens.
Unranked multiplayer matchmaking will completely ruin the ladder. I'm going to mark this post as a favorite, and refer it to it over and over again as my vision of the future becomes true. Ok may 8th 2012, 1pm EST. Over and out
