For the haters: Blizzard had to build BNet 2.0 up from scratch, it's not an extension of any old products. Sure, it's missing some features that older games had, but resources were obviously allocated somewhere else in development (for example, the widely acclaimed single-player campaign or the brilliant matchmaking service). When you build something new it's going to take time for the feature list to catch up, but at least Blizzard IS catching up (and surpassing) everything previously with this FREE product. Seriously, BNet is FREE, therefore it is fantastic value for money and most complaints really need to keep these things in mind. TL;DR: Constructive criticism is GOOD, because it let's Bliz know what to add first, but mindlessly raging is BAD because it accomplishes nothing! Yes because Blizzard obviously has our best interests at heart, I mean did we really want chat channels? Really?

They arent releasing the information now becuase of a decline they are releasing it to get people hyped up about there game with steady streams of information just like every game developer has done for years. New units are exciting, assuming they don't suck. But I don't get hyped up when I am announced some features that were already present in much older games and should have been there since the beginning. It just makes me think "oh God, at bloody last ! I may play the game a bit longer :-| "

There were not too much features and there would be 2 more expansions, only logical that they keep adding the rest in LotV. The rest features, if needed, will probably come as an normal updates, but it would be so bad business to add everything right away, since Blizzard tends to be more money hungering than any company. Still, good to see these added. In all honesty, they committed to nearly a decade of Starcraft 2 development and support by announcing 3 expansions in advance, there are easier ways in this industry to make money then properly prioritizing features such that they can ship WoL, Diablo 3 and heart of the swarm within 3 years of each other, because make no mistake the technical team is likely shared between those 3 titles at least, even if design and content production is not.

The blog doesn't call them 'HotS features', it calls them "features we are planning to release at or around the launch of Heart of the Swarm". It's a small distinction, but it seems like they're for everyone.

Why not build the hype for the game in general around the time that the 'cool thing to do' in the sc community will be to buy the expansion. Thats just good business. REALLY happy to see these things being added. edit- I hope that the new B.Net team has some similar goals for the near future. I really want good things to come out of them (we need it there the most).

I'm a little concerned about the unranked play though. What's to stop higher-ranked players from tanking their MMR down to the bronze league and then constantly rolling all the legitimate bronzies in the unranked leagues? Currently people who do this will eventually begin to climb back up the ladder as they stomp all the lower-ranked players battle.net throws at them. But in the unranked leagues, it appears as though you would essentially be locked in against opponents of a particular skill until you decide to play on the ranked ladder again. Seems like that might be a problem? I suppose it is too early to tell at this point though.

Don't really get the point of 'unranked matchmaking' though. I guess its like official peepmode without spectators? Everything else seems awesome though. Hope Global play doesn't cause cross-server lag

None of these really changes my SC2 experience but I guess it was about time.
