MMR should have carried over from last season as I only played one placement, and my opponents more or less seem to be my level. Anything else I need to check?

![]() Question: Currently in masters and sitting around the 45% overall ratio. You can see by my graph that I very rarely hit over the actual promotion line for Masters but here I am after all the filtering for the league, still in Masters. Is there something wrong with the promotion line or do I seriously not belong in Masters? Sort of been bugging me lol.

"2013-06-12: Blizzard has potentially changed league offsets --> Calculations may be incorrect until new offsets are calculated and published (takes potentially few weeks to collect enough data to calculate new offsets)" When the new offsets are published also a new version of the tool will be released, which will archive all S11 and S12 HotS data. --- Those who wonder why they do not get a good game: MMR can only be calculated from some matches (you need at least one of such 'good games' for graph to appear). There are lots of requirements. You can read some from here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=334561¤tpage=154#3071

That is, as long as you don't care about your ladder rank :D On another note, any word on the updated league offsets for this thing?

It really depends on how much people are playing. We need to get games that match a specific criteria in order to calculate the new offsets, so it takes some time.

I was promoted from plat this season aroung game 25 on this chart. After game 75 or so it retroactively made a rather.. .extreme retroactive adjustment. Before this adjustment, it had me mostly under the diamond line. http://imgur.com/8p36ZQq ![]() I play barely any Masters opponents. Its got me in every league but the one I'm actually in,. Yes, the tool is going through a bit of a mid life crisis. We're hoping to have it fixed soon. Whenever blizzard changes the league offsets, everything breaks. I'll talk to Korona about simplifying how we calculate it. EDIT: I'll try to explain how we find the offsets simply: We need to find two games played in succession that are both good games, and both played against different leagues. For example, Game 1 would be played against a master league player, and game 2 played against a diamond. We then calculate the DMMR for the player, and after subtracting them, we know the difference between the two leagues. The reason it takes so long is because the offsets affect each other. Having an inaccurate lower league offset has some effect on the higher league offset. Since we have few players playing in the lower leagues, finding an offset for them takes a very long time. Basically, a low amount of people playing + strict criteria = long ass time. This is how I understand it, anyway. I never looked into the offsets much.

So maybe u will have it in a few days or do you think it will take even more time? Or maybe it is possible to release a version not finaly ok but even better then the old one and update it later to a perfect one? (Sry for bad english) Hopefully today or tomorrow if nothing problematic is found. If you have clear spikes in your S12 to S13 data (the previous 2 seasons) please set the causing games bad. The new version will archive S12 & S13 data & if there are spikes they will also be in archive data. And the tool itself needed also some changes so only changing the offsets was not enough. Sometimes things take time especially as this is a legacy program (some parts like the archiving code should be rewritten if there was time) and it is not an option to release not properly tested version that would potentially break user data. No need to start MMR abusing & potentially getting banned by Blizzard for it. Indeed there are extremely little data from bottom leagues: - e.g. only one datapoint regarding bronze-silver offsets. Will use a educated guesses based on user graphs for the lowest leagues. On June 25 2013 23:01 Tuczniak wrote: It would be nice if there were some indication if the offsets are correct or not. Maybe just make the not straight line. That's what I accidentaly did. I hope it helped a little ![]() Like the original post states there were offset changes. It should be quite clear from the erratic MMR graphs too. There were few character accounts that had been leveled up from bronze to master. They were helpful regarding visual verification.
