I just got a weird error, finally got a 100% game after though, 838 MMR, SIGH. I went 0-9 the other day I bet I was close to Masters lol.

thats an very rare mistake. It basicly mean that the update on the webeser started but was not done when it grabed the website. So it got the data in the "middle" of the "update".
Blizzards server are not the fastest and sometimes they jump for several sec between old and new results, thats why the data cant be used here.

What do you guys think about the new offsets?
From the mmr plugin i can see that about every 200 points is a new league and i feel like everyone got 1,2 leagues
above what he was before hots(some went from gold to diamond),and i see a lot more master players now.
How is master still 2%

Anyone know in what scenario an ~820 MMR Diamond Protoss (~60% win rate in last 30 games) would ever match up against a Gold Zerg who has been on a losing streak?

I win 2 straight against Diamond queued players, and then all of a sudden I hit a gold player...???

I'm going to throw things out there at random:

If he placed gold, and proceeded to only play unranked, he could be at your MMR range while still being gold.
He could be gold in WoL, and is currently playing his HotS placements.
He just got swarm, placed in gold, and hasn't been promoted yet.

I believe blizzard has strange search ranges for the middle leagues (The fringe leagues play people closer to their mmr, while the middle leagues play people within a broader range). It's entirely possible that he simply got the very far end of his range, and you happened to get the very bottom.

You didn't give any more information about the game, so I can't really postulate further.

I would guess it has a lot to do with new players to hots. If you have a steady stream of people piling into the match maker, you're going to have highly skilled people in the lower leagues, and likewise you'll have lesser skilled people in masters because they were placed there when the match maker was less populated.

Basically it's possible there are a lot of people at an improper MMR due to the game being so new.

It's also important to note that less players = higher placement.

If there are 1000 people in WoL, then you'll have ~ 200 people in masters, and so on. If you assume there's no particular bias towards when someone buys the expansion, you could 100 select random people from the 1000 player pool, and place them into the swarm distribution. So you could take 10 bronze players, 50 silver, 10 master, a GM, etc. and then distribute them across a 20/18/24/18/18/2 (or whatever it is now), you're going to have more diamonds in masters since you only have 10 actual master, you'll need 10 more players to put in master for 2% distribution.


On the other hand, it's probably not even remotely close to 2%, and blizzard just wants us to think it is! Nios.kr says the american ladder is comprised of 6.64% master level players.



I'm also just spouting a theory. I really don't have anything to back up any of that.

Algorithm B does not use pre-game data. As your opponent lost his change points are unknown based on Alg B (we don't know if there was a hidden part as Blizzard hides the points taken from the bonus pool). But as you had memory reader on, the algorithm A could count the change points as it also uses the pre-game profile.

Remember that true GM border is dynamic. The GM border in tool is static. It is set roughly to a point where master & gm players started to mix up based on last Tuesday's data.

For example if there is 1 spot available in gm it is reserved to best non-gm active player regarding MMR. And that player may have higher MMR than a typical gm player --> Regarding this example the border could be considerably higher than the mixing point.

What does "Autocorrect" do (bottom middle of plugin, to the right of "Dots." I don't recall seeing this in the WoL version from like 6 months back.
