A little distasteful. But, to be honest, I was really disappointed after all the hype when I listened to the VOD. Was expecting plenty of racial slurs/condemning of Dragon as a terrible terrible person and instead all I got were a few stupid references to stream cheating etc... Grow the fuck up, people. Destiny, why you butt hurt, I seen your VOD at 1:41:00 you already cried about dragon getting a free trip out of the deal. I for one think you need to grow up, the only actions of a "ridiculous child" are the ones you put forth. It wasn't just what you heard either, chat was flaming. Aside from this issue of non-argument because what happened has already transpired, we now know who is the ridiculous child who doesn't care about anyone that doesn't massage your ego.

Am I crazy? It seems like everyone's 6 years old and it's the first time they've heard a swear word, get over it. You're all making a big deal out of nothing and it's a shame a guy had to lose his job or affiliation over this bullshit..>_>

For that to hold any weight you have to be able to prove damage was done and was done so with malicious intent. A caster makes some mild accusations, of which could and haven't caused any damage in the first place. Second, he did so jokingly, trying to prove otherwise is difficult. The only harm I could see that came out of this was the association of playhem with this, and that was blown way out of proportion by a community that revels in this type of drama. Dragon was very nicely compensated for this incident (which he probably couldn't care less about) and playhem came out ontop because of the way they handled it. Firing Katu was going overboard in my opinion, and definitely a reaction to the huge outrage there way. Yet, the outrage comes from fans of a player who they forgave, so it is hypocritical not to extend the same forgiveness to Katu. Huge community overreaction is what caused any damages here.

You think people were flipping out in live chat during the event because he said something about slayer? No, it was purely reference to dragon cheating. If people get mad at a joke, there must be some truth behind it.

I feel like I just wasted 45 minutes of my life trying to find something that isn't there. The dude is just fucking around. Let him have his fun. Edit: Just saw Katu got fired. What the hell just happened? Why are people getting so mad about this? I'm baffled.

If we want to be e-sport seen as an legitimate sport, the representative should start to be professional. In my oppinion playhem judged really hard but, like discribed above, i can kinda understand this move! Edit: Not the community decide to fire Katu, Playhem decide to fire Katu.

Katu isn´t a random player or independent caster f****ing arround on the internet. Katu was a representive of Playhem he get payed to be proffesional and objektive. Imagine a football or (put random big sport here) commentator on TV, talking shit about a player (doping, cheating what ever) im sure it is the end of his career. In my oppinion playhem judged really hard but, like discribed above, i can kinda understand this move! Its not that big of a deal. Casters are what make watching starcraft fun. You watch for the excitement and fun they bring in the game. They bring their personality into the game. If we start making casters hold their tongues no one will watch starcraft except for the pro's since it will be boring as all hell. And E-sports is a legitimate sport, if people say it's not then they don't know what the hell they are talking about.

If something like this happened in a legitimate sport and someone got fired, I'm pretty sure most fans/people by now would be on the same page and agree that there are standards that need to be upheld. No biggie, get a new guy and move on. But for some reason "esports" has to raise holy hell and lynch people every month or so. I think you're jumping ahead of yourself comparing the two under the same category.

Out of context, what he said was not all that bad. Makes him seem like a bit of an ass, but people say stupid things all the time. If TL poster #334122 said what Katu said, it would not be a huge deal. But that fact that he was trashing a player while representing Playhem and casting the finals (?) of their tournament makes him look extremely unprofessional, which in turn reflects poorly on Playhem. Should people be mad? I don't know--but I know any organisation would not wanted to be represented in such a way. It certainly makes his "punishment" (I'm not clear what those are) expected. Whether or not they were fitting is of course moot.

Its a big deal because katu lied about alot of things. He said dragon was kicked out of slayers for cheating. He also said dragon was banned from GSL for cheating.
