It (XNC) sorta reminded me of Destination from Brood War. I like maps with only 2-3 spawn points because otherwise the games get more random and less skill-based. At least the two replacement maps are 2-position, that's actually really good (for my personal reference at least). I'm sure I could like one or both of the maps just as much as Xelnaga Caverns (and maybe get a better win-rate regardless), even though I'm sick of closed-natural maps. It's forcing too much of a 1-way play style with these maps that have closed naturals — I guess it did have issues though — FFE is very difficult (or impossible?) to hold vs strong offensive builds, and zergs have considerable trouble defending open naturals too. In fact with Arid gone, there are no more maps with open naturals? Is there some kind of agreement that protoss needs to FFE to win or something?
