When you win a game, the bonus pool is used to double up the points you get. eg1 You win a game, you have 100 points in bonus pool Win game = + 8 points (+8 bonus Pool) total = +16 points eg2 You win a game, you have 5 points in bonus pool Win game = +8 points (+5 bonus pool) total = +13 points The purpose of the bonus pool is to encourage people to play ladder and to allow players who arnt getting any better to climb their division. Imagine... if you won exactly 50% of your games, then you are staying at a constant level of play. But you'd get twice as many points for the wins as you'd get for losses. (eg +16 for win, -8 for loss). So even though you are not improving, it enables you to get to a high place in the ladder. So when someone say's they are "high diamond" or something, the "high" part does not necessarily relate to skill. I kind of disagree with your reasoning for the purpose of bonus pool. Since you start each season at 0 points, if you're winning 50% of your matches like you're supposed to, then you'll remain at 0 points. And if you're losing every single game, then you'll remain at 0 points. The only way to raise your points would be to be winning a lot more than 50% of your games, which essentially means the matchmaking system is failing at matching you against people of your own skill. The bonus pool creates a moving "average" point value that raises over the season. So if you're at the point in the season where 500 total bonus pool has been given out, then you would be at 500 points. If you're losing more games than you're winning, then you would be below 500. And if you're winning more than 50%, you would be above 500. It's just a way of differentiating between people who have an even W/L, and people who have a lot more losses than wins. Although I agree that it might be partially so people with low self-esteem can feel better about watching their points slowly go up, even if they're sucking hahaha. The entire league system is explained in detail here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=195273

(I've been playing with Terran, Protoss and a bit with Zerg but I sturggle mostly with Zerg) Either drop your rating, which is what i did by trying silly strats like hatchery rushing or random all ins untill you feel your MMR is at a level where you feel comfortable enough to start getting your ranking back up. You can also simply que up as random and hope for the best and let your MMR work itself out.

"Dear Blizzard.. are u kidding me....?? where do you make your money from? the countless amounts of wanna-be nerds that buy your games... and yeah i am a scrub.. but why the hell is storm from the High Templar so damn powerful and hard to combat as a terran. So everyone who is not in platinum or above who plays as terran against protoss just die hard to storms. NERF THAT SHIT! or you will lose at least one faithful blizzard fan. what do i do.. i know i need to split my marines, stim, cloak my ghosts (if i have them by then), avoid their observer and snipe(which you just nerfed because yo're idiots who hate terran and love zerg) and then before their army catches back up and utterly destroys any army i have. WHAT A JOKE! how is anyone who is not in code A or Code S meant to do that?? i know that protoss has nearly free cloaked observers, the strongest armies, the best and fastest and cheapest upgrades.. and need absolutely ZERO micro to win for some reason, but i am yet to find it. so NERF IT!! I was trying to add a replay for you to see what I mean, but apparently you guys didn't think about that for support... :-/" User was banned for this post.

Sundance said that if you found 20$ to much that you should split it with 3-4 friends and watch together. -Does he mean that you have to do this at somebody his home or that you can actually use 1 key on 2 (or more) computers at the same time? I am 99% certain that it won't be possible to use 1 key on multiple computers. But I really want to watch this MLG, but I used to do it with a buddy over Teamspeak. It would be super sexy if you could use 1 key on 2 IPs this time.

Also if 16 players have been seeded and 4 come from the open bracket does that mean MLG has reduced the size of the pool from 24 to 20?

T_T - maybe it will be split up to use on multiple systems in the future? but i highly doubt it because of...abuse.
