Yes, I'm still mad about regions. I didn't even know about them until one day I tried playing with an american friend and we couldn't add each other for about half an hour. Now I have the SEA trial installed side by side to my EU, because they Blizzard doesn't even have the decency to put their already implemented regoion selection in all the versions. But yeah, the game is much more social like this.

Correct nomenclature would be stats in 2.0 (HotS) and shared replays in 3.0 (LotV) + waiting time for LotV to be balanced.
Personnally I uninstalled the game because everything feels too repetitive, not fun (I play Protoss), and the cg system is really fucked up and doesn't work at all.
Stop playing the game means watching less tournaments and streams, I only watch big offline events or the gsl finals. I still follow the news of the community accurately because it's awesome, but overall I think Blizzard's behavior is starting to hurt the number of viewers events get (just look at iem finals with 32k viewers while dreamhack had 70k some months ago...).
Well until the time their game is good enough I'll play DotA 2 it's all right
Quality game from day 1 >>>>>>>> Crappy game that asks for 7-8 years + 2 extensions to become only as good as it's predecessor.

Where is the information on 5 large patches? Or do you mean the fact that it is patch 1.5?

Yeah I just meant 1.5, 5 large number steps, yadda yadda.

Not necessarily, BW was still 1.x
Fun fact: bw and sc2 are 2 different games, albeit similar.

He's talking about how the expansion was still listed under version 1 and seems to expect the same of the SC2 expansions.

it seems that Blizzard has changed their patch nomenclature with WoW, where every expansion resulted in a full version change in the patch naming, hence why Mysti said 2.0 for HotS and 3.0 for LotV.
reading this thread has been a slap in the face for me; a bit of a wake up call if you will-- i've been a long time fan of Blizzard as a company and developer, and my faith is shaken. Maybe for the longest time i've tried to avoid the negative side of the buyout/merger with Activision, since my profession as an artist has had me focused more on the fascinating work of Blizzard's art and cinema teams rather than the gameplay and interface functionality design. I wasn't as serious of a gamer with SC/BW and WC3 due to my being younger and not really understanding the depth of the games, but as i play SC2 with a better level of understanding, i do lament not being able to have stat tracking as shown with the screenshots from WC3. I do remember when they added shared replay viewing in BW though, do hope they add it to SC2 soon.
I highly enjoy the proposed UI changes also listed in the OP, and I think both for the game itself and esports as a whole provides a smoother transition from the game itself to the community (via the straight browser style directly to the game's community forums, and also the links to on-going live tournaments both lan and otherwise)
It spawned an entire new genre (MOBA games) which has since eclipsed RTS games both in player and viewer numbers.
Maybe they're scared of this? Losing players to a game created by people using Blizzard's software.
But overall yeah, the social and the custom game aspects of BNET2 have been disappointing.
I'd say DotA was very positive for Blizzard's business, I know of people who went to GAME specifically to buy "DotA", which caused some confusion for the store clerks. Thousands of people buying WC3+Frozen Throne to play a single custom map, and let's not forget everyone addicted to the tower defense games that got popularized by custom Starcraft and Warcraft III maps. They tried to monetize more directly on the maps with the new battle.net, but they just ended up smothering the scene in the cradle instead. Welp.

TD Games.... they're so....boring in SC2. SC TD games were so much better. >.<
BLIZZARD Y U NO WANT SHARED REPLAY WACTHING?! This feature was so nice and i miss it so much! Im no computer exptert at all, but it shouldnt be to difficuldt to add this tasty feature. Please.
Apparently the 5.5 thread on the US forums is now full as well at 26 pages, but I didn't see a 6th thread open. Could someone of you guys take care of that? No reason to stop this just because patch 1.5 has been hinted at.
These are definately amazing changes proposed by the community! I have no idea wether they are hard to implement or not, but we should let blizzard know what we want! Perhaps someone could arrange for polls on different SC2 forums and then let blizzard know the results (Which I assume will be overwhelmingly positive!)
