Great. Then why do you comment on it?
Shared replay watching. It was such a great feature in SC/BW. Requested since beta, and we'll probably never see it. actually they said it comes
AHAHAHahahahaaaaaa. Because Blizzard saying something is in development means it'll actually be done some day. Oh my. Really?
Statistics yeah sc2gears
Thanks for proving my point. We need external tools to achieve what the the game could do in the first place.
The whole league system. there might be some problems with gm or whatsoever but the sc2 league system is one of the best Systems im played in. and to say the one in wc3 was sooo much better its ridiculous. but then you say "(which is great, btw, and the only redeeming feature)" WTF
and im rly sry for you and your friend that both of you can not compete in a who has the biggest virtualpenis in SC2 . when you wanna know if you are better then your m8 guess what?play the fuck against him...
You've completely missed my point. Why so aggressive? Why assume things? I don't even have a buddy to compare with, just fyi. It was an example. Calm down, and don't be such a jerk.
im not trying to defend blizz here but this is just stupid wrong and not informed.
So your summary to my post is "stupid wrong and not informed". Great. Coming from someone who insults me, and is naive enough to be happy with "Blizzard says it's coming".
Not to be rude or anything, but customers like you are the exact reason why the UI is as bad as it is and probably will stay this way.

100% SUPPORT THIS THREAD
SERIOUSLY
and the menus themselves kind of suck.
BLIZZARD !!!!!!!!!!!!!! /:T I"M SERIOUS AND FROWNING
GOOD OP shock you know whatsup
|
can't be mentioned often enough. can't see anyone disagreeing with the OP and i'd say a looot of more players would still play sc2 if all those things would have been invented already.
and the excuse that everything is coming is a rather poor one. with sc2 i would've expected something new, not that everything starts from basically zero and catches up to the wc3 UI level.
the worst things IMO are the missing auto-tournaments and the very very (...) bad custom game system.

We've cared for 2 years straight, and we haven't stopped, we just got tired of talking about it. And Blizzard has shown they don't understand what we want, won't listen to what we want, and will say we're getting something but never deliver.
|
You know I've always thought it would be a good motivator if on the home screen there was a small window that showed recent results of people on your friends list. Like your friends' most recent 5 match results. That would make it so much easier to hit that find match button.

Words can't even describe how much i miss the "wc3 frozen throne interface", and the "frozen throne SWE-1" channel

Dear Blizzard,
please read the opening post and take it to heart.
Sincerely, Everyone

posted a link to this thread on the battle.net EU forums, someone on US should post in on the US forums also!
(dunno if the forums are shared) :p lets pray blizzard will read it and do something!

I have to agree with almost everything; the team thing doesn't bother me at all, but everything else, I like and support.

HotS will be a test to see if Blizzard intends to change things or not. If it's just an expansion with "new units and missions" I, for one, will be very disappointed. Especially since it's already late for the "18 months for each expansion" plan they had in the beginning (WoL was released in the summer of 2010, that would mean that HotS should have released this Christmas or around now. This is clearly not happening anytime soon, we're probably looking at a 30 months dev time and a release in december 2012.). Still no beta or previews out (New battlereports?) hurts too.

We're not asking for perfection; we're asking them for things that were included in War3 or SC1. It's not like they're reinventing the wheel.
I really do wish the client was more like War3's. I only played that game near the end because I liked my guild, I liked laddering because it would help my guild and I liked doing those weekly tournaments (especially the silly formats like 3v3 all random). There was just so much more socializing and this community aspect, which is so important to keep players long term.
I don't even really see the improvement from War3 to SC2. They prettied up the graphics, made everything clump together unrealistically, added some 3d physics for animations. In return they took away the things OP talked about.
Edit: As SC2 is now there's no way I'm paying for HOTS. I don't even recommend SC2 to friends because I just know they would just be appalled at how little SC2 has.

Great. Then why do you comment on it?
because im fine with them?

Yeah @some point we will get that stuff.
Thanks for proving my point. We need external tools to achieve what the the game could do in the first place.
so what? when you rly rly need Statistics and when we already have something why should blizz put something like that in the game. And destroy such a nice Tool made by the community?
You've completely missed my point. Why so aggressive? Why assume things? I don't even have a buddy to compare with, just fyi. It was an example. Calm down, and don't be such a jerk.
than tell me your point you say first that the system sucks and then you say that is actually good.

i did not insulted you in any form.maybe you are insulted because im not agreeing with you but thats not my problem. and customers like me? what do you mean?
that i keep in mind that i paid only a few bucks for soooooo many hours of entertaining? and be thankful with what i have and not with what i could have?
sry but when i look around on the game market there are not that many games like that. and i dont mean RTS. i mean games that have depth that are supported by the company"balance/seasons/mods/maps" for FREE

These are feature requests, not interface problems....

got to love mirc, used it in the past use it now and everything is fine. Well battlenet was a weak version of mirc, so guess people where satisfied by it. Since simple = good. But i guess Blizzard thought, good for casuals, true gamers will use irc anyway ;o. So right now you use the system for casuals, your own fault imo, but its good enough to only complain about and still use it, which most people go for.
But had to laugh hard when i noticed that some xbox live person would design bnet2. At that time it was sure to fail hard, but seeing diablo3 now i know why they wanted an xbox like system ... So just scrap bnet2 and stick to the old ways, its just starting a small program.
Blizzard made the first bnet to work with future games. bnet2 seems to be not different and since we know diablo3 goes console ... bnet2 will mostly stay at a level at which the consoles will be able to use it as well (a level which is unacceptable for pc users). And additions to the bnet for sc2, will be done if the bnet teams have time, which they currently don't have since they are working on the diablo3 auction system stuff i guess.
Also complaining now again is pretty useless, all the complaints are old and long noted by Blizzard, either on the todo list or on the ignore list. Ranting about the same stuff will not help. It also will not speed up things, HotS will bring the new features as its way easier to do so.
and expected something else when the op talked about the ui ...
PS: i actually get to know way more people with the new bnet then with the old bnet. So that socializing is harder puzzles me a bit. (i prefer the old system because of that, to much people to talk to, losing time to play XD)

I completely agree with all of this.
They could easily fix all of these things. They have the resources to do it. They need to stop making excuses and get it done.

i think you give blizzard too much credit

You expressed my exact thoughts before I even thought about them. Wow what a weird sentence, but you are totally right, especially about the "feeling alone" part. I couldnt put it into words before but that is actually EXACTLY what I often feel when I log in. and THAT was not the case in WC3, BW or Diablo II.
I miss the /w, /f l, /f m and /stats <name> commands! And i also miss the Stats overall, I think in the SC2 BETA there was a way to check your own Best/or worse Map according to win percentage(why did they remove that?!). Also the Friendlist is extremely annoying to me. Why do I have to add someone i dont know to the friendlist just to compete with him in a Tournament? Why isnt there a /inv <name>.<number> command?
At least let us put our friends on a List or sort them, whatever.
|
I completely agree, but I did want to add one thing. Many of the features you identified from SC and WC3 were in fact from BW and TFT. Blizzard has a history of adding substantial features/functionality when they release expansions. I'm really hoping they continue that trend. :-)
|
I'm really hoping they stop doing that and patch the interface more often, not just withing big releases of expansions.
