It's really simple: If you need a 3d party program for something you want to do with some other guy INGAME it should be added INTO the game/ui so you don't have to Tab around. I have 2 screens and it's not a big issue for me.. But it's annoying nonetheless.

Yeah, I agree. The UI is a terrible fail and Blizzard is behaving like the many bad companies already out there. i would have expected a lot more of them.

one question, why don't we try to write dbrowder@blizzard.com directly? I mean it works with congress men and gabe newell, why not with dustin browder :D

Definately agree. WC3 multiplayer UI was _ALOT_ better in all ways compared to SC2, which is downright terrible.
One example also is the fact that one a custom game starts, you can't Quit (without logging out and then in again.......). You should be able to quit untill atleast 5 seconds is left, and then the timer should stop.

As long as you provide a homeage to destructable rocks it should be no problem to make your voice heard

Of course Blizzard isn't going to implement anything until HotS is released. They expect you/us to pay for obvious things that should have been in Starctaft 2 in the first place. Even this silly poor peoples Dota ripoff takes them more than a year to develop.

totaly agree with the thread creater, that modifided picture looks like battle.net 2.0 should be... to bad it wont happen ever

UMS system sucks probably because Blizzard is afraid of maps being better and more popular than the game itself
|
I completely agree with the OP. B.net could be so great, but instead it's...not.

Come to think of it, Activision Blizzard is publicly traded. One could buy a single share in the company and go talk about the general suckyness of Battlenet 0.2 in the next shareholders meeting.

The problem with shared replay and a lot of other features is... (drum-roll please) ... They were features in Broodwar and WCIII a.k.a. OLDER GAMES!!!! (developed by the same company none-the-less!!!) like Wth??? How is it difficult then to add them back into the game... We are not asking this company to re-invent the wheel, we just want the wheel again... -____-

Blizzard should be ashamed of what they did with Bnet 0.2. But for some reason, they don't seem to care or realize the importance of a proper UI.
|
I completely missed the tweets by Bashiok regarding the chat questions. Ridiculous answers, considering they're coming from a community manager. Wow. Added them to the OP.
|
I feel so much more isolated on bnet 2.0 than the old bnet. I don't understand why they removed/refused to implement features that really helped build the sense of community and social aspect of the game. The custom games interface is a huge disappointment too.
Blizzard games used to be an auto-buy for me but now I don't think that I will buy either diablo III or HotS.

All the CMs are a joke. In the early days of WoW, they used to post usefully, but all those people have quit/were fired and now they just bump threads that say nice things about Blizzard or reply to questions with posts that completely miss the point.
Edit: I'm pretty sure Bashiok is the moron who, when everyone said RealID was stupid, posted his real name to prove that nothing bad could happen from it. Within the hour people were calling his parents and sending pizzas to his house. He's just a Blizzard shill, and not a very good one.

Lies, CMs were never good. Caydiem? Eyonix? Fangooth? They never said anything useful. Bashiok and Zaryhm are the only CMs who've ever been worthwhile and that's mostly for their humor. GC was the only one who actually had solid info and that didn't start until BC(and wasn't a CM of course).

Since i am the only one here. I am perfectly fine with Battle.net. I think it made a huge step forward. Especially that pros are not able any more to hide in closed chat rooms with closed games. Everything seems a lot more open...i can check build orders of the last games.
The Chat function is really great...no more sitting in channels were nothing is happening. MOst people on iccup i know used the whisper function anyway. So...no real need...at least from my point of view. It seems more clean to me...
But just my 2 cents...

I always imagine the people that write these types of threads to be just like this: + Show Spoiler +

It's great if B.Net 2.0 works for you, and if you like the new chat and the display of build orders, alright. Just fair.
But what about the rest? What about the lack of replay watching? Auto-tournaments? The restrictive custom map enviroment? The long menu loading times? The vague league system? The lack of clan support? The general feeling of the UI?
You can't tell me that you're fine with all of those features missing. You may not care for some of them, I realize that, but I'm 100% certain there's at least one or two features among those that would make your personal SC2 experience a better one, and which you're missing out on right here, right now.

There's a difference between passion and anger. Thanks for the bump, though.
