i definately agree with many of your points, although i must say i think the ladder system is the one thing whihc is better in sc2 than for example wc3, where it was based on levels.
Its especially annoying when coming from a wc3 background to see such a terrible custom game design( and here i mean how u join them). There is no "list of games" like in wc3 or game names which tell those who want to join what the terms of the game are
Also the point about the chat channel is very valid, since they are freaking terribly designed and offer no option to kick people

Totally agree with all of your points. Even though nothing you brought up is new, hopefully this will serve as a reminder to blizzard that they totally screwed up battle.net and it NEEDS IMPROVEMENT. Literally going down your list and fixing these issues (which have CLEAR solutions) would make such a big difference. I used to log into battle.net in bw days without any intention of playing, just to chat and such. I never do that in sc2.
Oh, and one thing to add to your list: increase the flood limit for chatting in chat channels to like 2x as much. It's very frustrating to have messages deleted when typing normally.

I agree with this
its so weird that they made such an amazing custom map editor, but have the worst system in place to actually play the games.

I agree, also there should be an end of region locking, this shit is stupid. The game is already 2 years old, nobody will pirate it en mass(and they already have an alternative way of playing LAN so...),the only thing it does it create a gap between servers that serves not only to hamper pratice on the "weaker servers" it also lowers the overral skill cap, since most servers have their own distinct "styles".

I play a lot of 1v1 and I think ladder works alright. 2v2 is also fine, and 3v3/4v4 are really broken but there is not much they can do.
The thing I most agree with you is the custom games. I LOVED custom games in WC3 and played sporadically. When I would stop playing for a few weeks and come back, there would be a ton of new custom games and the classics that everyone loved would still be there. The SC2 community is bigger, the editor has endless options, yet every month I check and there's like one new game that's half decent and supported for more than a beta. It's sad and I can't offer any explanation other than a broken custom game system/lack of community caused by no chat channels.
Also, shared replay viewing is not that complicated. Come on.

I agree. The shittiest part about this thread is the fact that these points should honestly be a non-issue. It's stupid that nothing has been done about it.
Blizzard has been promising the addition of many features since beta. The only one we got was chat channels. And I don't think they could have done a shittier job.
All we can really do is keep bitching about it until something is done. We need threads like this.
|
The chat needs URGENT a offline or invisible mode, anyone with your char code (and is not difficult to obtain on the web) can know exactly when you are playing or not. Give me back my privacy thank you.

|
all part of their strategy to be honest.
remove every feature, then readd them and say "hey we listen to the community here's feature X, praise us" and the fangirls go "weeee have my babies blizzard you're fantastic" :|
or promise something with the usual "soon" (read: never) and then ignore the occasional outcry every 6 months or so (name change anyone ? )

My friends and I usually play 4v4 even when there are only 2-3 of us playing so we would not want that to go away.
It is nice to get random teammates. Sometimes we will invite our teammate to our party after the game.

Everybody cares! I think we will just have to wait till HOTS man, I think WoL to HOTS will be like Starcraft1 to Broodwar, epic and a lot better. Gl hf !
Will some of the features be implemented in HotS? Or will be get another excuse to tell us to wait till the third expansion is out?

does anyone else get a lot of lag when you go to the multiplayer screen? you know when it loads up the 1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4 selection, with the custom games button on the bottom right. does anyone else sometimes take a lot of time to load that up?
|
only way to reach blizz is by stopping to play and not buying hots. If you think anything else helps, your delusional unfortunately.
|
Whenever we ask blizzard, they just say its on "the list". If blizzard had competition I'm sure we would have all of those features.
|
They are still investigating. Be patient, it's coming soon.

Yes, but that is considered gambling and thus gambling age comes into effect which is also another obstacle.

I was thinking about doing a comparison to the Dota2 beta feature set and how much more robust it is to what bnet2 offers even in beta with half of it not even implemented yet but I don't know if there's even a point. They don't really acknowledge how bad bnet2 truly is, and from my experience with the D3 beta it doesn't seem to be improving any time soon. It's a shame but people buy it regardless so why bother improving it
|
I would pay more money for more features
I honestly expected these things to be included when i bought the game, but whatever
Blizzard, if you read this.. hire more people to program this stuff, and then just charge everyone an extra dollar to buy your next 2 games. its fine. we want more stuff neow.. not later

This post basically includes all my b.net 2.0 frustrations. Perhaps the low fps during watching match history or leagues is quite bad too.
Actually the hole interface is quite random, i heard Husky saying it was made by a Playstation developer or something, and while it clearly looks ok for consoles, I'd say the new interface is pretty bad for PCs.
This is one of the massive things that basically stops players from wanting to go online and play games.

I agree with a lot of stuff you said, the fact we didn't start with chat channels, why aren't they as good as bw/war3 ( imo ), why STILL don't we have shared replay or a clan system, from such a huge gaming company its kinda sad that they don't have it yet. If SC2 itself an amazing game, and it was just another company i'd have alrdy quit the game. Battle.net is still way better than battlenet 0.2
