I hope they'll fix it over the years but let's face it : the design is wrong from the ground up and i think they will have a really hard time making Bnet2.0 better.

I wholeheartly agree with OP, the only good thing in Bnet2 is the matchmaking, everything else is just not practical and i can't understand how a company as big as blizzard, with so many talented and intelligent people, achieved such a bad product for Bnet2.0 I hope they'll fix it over the years but let's face it : the design is wrong from the ground up and i think they will have a really hard time making Bnet2.0 better. Outsourcing development of bnet 2.0 to the wrong people. On February 03 2012 22:36 Lazy8s wrote: I didn't read every post so don't crucify me if this has already been said. The answer is simple, really. Now that Activision owns Blizzard, upgrades will be sold in the form of expansion pack. If you really want fixes, your best bet is to try and affect the HotS xpack. Yep, not as if we've had *any* fixes so far, right?

I'm very hesistant on buying HotS. Why give money to a company who neglects the most basic of social/custom features?

Personally, I miss tournaments even more than a decent, competitive ladder. Because in tournaments you could experience an awsome competition just by playing ONE single evening. Bonus points mean that you constantly have to play, but in tournaments everyone starts out equally. All Blizz had to do was to just copy/paste the - working - system of warcraft 3. But I guess this would have been too much work...

If HoTS doesn't have some of the core features that currently missing as stated in OP, I surely wont buy it.

Mass signs at MLG/Dreamhack? Signatures and online petitions doesn't work, they mass up quickly but are filled by fake names and stuff. Invade bnet forums? Might work if the entire first page of bnet general is filled by threads, then they'll remove them and pretend nothing happened. If you got an idea that might actually get a message to blizzard please share. Let's stir up a storm about this (Again lol) during the downtime until the big foreign tournaments start up. EDIT: http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/3313032837?page=1#15 EU bnet thread. POST!

If I search for a map by it's exact name, there is no reason to bury it below two screens of results for maps with different, sometimes not even similar names, just because they support fewer players in those maps.

Also, a big part of RTS and game survivability in general is due to the custom games existence, and waiting for HotS to implement an acceptable system will lose more players than if they released it now. To top if off, the competitive community will buy HotS anyway, because the tournaments will switch, making the switch mandatory. It's not like people will stick with WoL because there's not enough improvements in HotS... Regarding people that say the 1v1 ladder is good, I'll quote this gentleman: On February 03 2012 19:03 ddrddrddrddr wrote: For those who say match making is good, be reminded that your mmr doesn't care when you're off racing, mmr doesn't care if you took a long break, the GM ladder's a joke, leaving games can be used for farming icon, random team and premade teams are put in the same ladder (I think, not sure) are all issues that have been brought up but the ladder system does not directly fix any of these. So yeah... it's a good system if you meet all the conditions like not be off-racing ever and not taking long breaks... Unless ur prepared to buy 3 copies of the game that is.

This game could be so much better but all hope is not lost. Blizzard is affiliated with Activision and for them every new content HAS to be monetarized, that means that they sell 1/3 of the game per expansion, to ensure people will buy them. The downside of this is that they won't implement things inbetween expansions (they would make no money) so we have to wait for HoTS and ultimately Legacy of the Void to see a quality product. Blame Activision :/

Thats why they also dont show you the losses in all leagues below masters. I personally quit playing precisely because it's so hard to see where my weaknesses are. All I have is this stupid notion that "I'm not getting promoted." That's it. When it comes time to say "how do I get better?" I have NO INFORMATION! What matchup is my weakest? Are there maps that cause me to struggle? (The maps question is important because if they have similar elements (lots of chokes) that would indicate to me that I engage in chokes too often.) Am I improving or getting worse? Even just a simple moving average APM tracker would be awesome to see if I'm at least getting faster. Yes I could pay for coaching or painstakingly analyze my replays but that's such an inordinate amount of work when completely feasible technology exists to give me that information so much faster. It's like looking something up in the encyclopedia instead of just using google. Also the UI is definitely bad. I'm sure it's great with a gamepad...but I don't play starcraft with my 360 controller.
