I don't see the point of comparing Axslav/Strifecro to the other members of the team since they are obviously things going on behind the scenes we don't know about but saying Machine had a solid MLG season is just plain ignorant. Delightfully ironic too since you're chiding people for not looking at Liquipedia.
Edit: Especially considering Machine was seeded for most of those events!

EVIL GENIUSES’ STARCRAFT II TEAM SEES DEPARTURE OF NICK “AXSLAV” RANISH AND CONG “STRIFECRO” SHU
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. – January 18th, 2012. – Today Evil Geniuses (EG), North America’s premier professional gaming team and a world leader in e-Sports, HAHAHAHAHA how modest
Modesty is not in the interest of many companies, especially not one with a brand to uphold. What would the value be in modestly underplaying their success in esports?
Met Axslav at MLG Anaheim and he was a pleasant dude. Loved watching him and Strife in wc3. I have no doubt Ax will be picked up soon.

its not as simple as Ax's and Strife's contracts expired, and EG let them go. While Lz and Machine is sitting on other contracts?
overall, I think its only about $. Ax knows what he can get from another team, and EG knows they can sign any random Code A korean TSL-drop off to replace him and sends him packing.
Love axslav though so I hope he lands somewhere good and has a break out year. And I don't even like EG so glad to see him out of there.
edit; I also agree with that player salaries might be kept private (for now!) their contract lengths shouldn't be a problem making public. All other pro sports are really open with contracts, and I'm interested in them. Not because I care about the actual amount, more about what they're considered 'worth' to their teams. Just like any other pro sport. There has also been _soo_ many contract conflicts. Making them public would certainly help reducing the contract issues.

It's all about ROI, Axlsav and Strifeco where not giving EG a favorable enough ROI for them to keep them. Your team has sponsors that pay you money to advertise for them. You need to show your brand, your product to people and when someone doesn't give you that ROI that you expect, then they are a financial loss to your company and you're in business to make a profit not to be a charity.

Loved these guys. GL in your futures no matter what it holds!

Axslav has been improving so much lately too
I hope he finds a new team and is able to keep up the hard work and get better and better as a player.

seriously Lzgamer should have left instead of Axslav imo

man, LZgamer, if you read this, pls stop reading this thread. This must be pretty frustrating to read And Cong, you too. Pls take this thread not too seriously.

Hm. I honestly think that EG feels that they were being weighed down with negative opinions pertaining to their weaker players, so they got rid of the weakest links. InControl still provides much more than just playing, and LZ and Machine... I don't know, I just feel that EG is slimming up in order to make themselves better.
Edit: I'm not saying that any of these players are "bad", more that they haven't produced results for EG, and perhaps it is a time for a change of pace for all involved. I actually really feel that they are very good Americans.

about time. more money to sign korean pros.

Top 10? after the korean influx? Want to know who had top 10 places outside of koreans all season, only huk (didn't participate at columbus). IdrA ret and huk were the only foreigners that were top 10 relatively consistently. so I guess those are the only solid foreigners.

I don't think anyone but the people involved can say they "understand" the move. EG has stated before that certain players do not need results to stay with the team (IE. Machine). I can see why, if there were "other" issues, that this move would happen. It is not for competitive reasons though... Axslav is far better than LZGamer.
I'm sure there were disagreements on certain things and/or, they needed to free up some money for Koreans or a different team. Maybe they are working on a deal with someone else moving into the house? Its odd they tell you to stay tuned to the page for upcoming news if that was not the case...

I disagree.
A Top10 finish in every single MLG isn't solid, it's phenomenal. Considering how stacked a lot of the MLGs were with Koreans? ONE top ten finish is solid.
You only see the best of the best continually get top 10 finishes.
Machine played very solidly in MLG, and deserves to have that credit.
Results = doing well, not necessarily winning the entire thing outright constantly. Granted, everyone would love that, but that's just not how this game works right now.

Blow it up!
Trade Machine for some good draft picks. Draft a top 5 Korean and you're good to go with him as your 1st option, IdrA as 2nd option and DeMusliM the first man off the bench.

Lz is next, Machine is IdrA in Halloween costume and obviously they're not dare to fire IdrA. Also I think it's time for them to get a solid Terran beside Puma or another Zerg. Their Protosses are great with HuK and JYP.

One interesting thing about this whole situation is that Foreign players are now directly competing with Koreans for sponsorship/teams/professional opportunities. Back in the day, the Koreans were mostly interested in Korean tournaments and leagues. Now that they're all playing in non-Korean events and willing to sign with non-Korean organizations, foreign professionals actually have some incentive to be as good or better than Koreans. Their jobs depend on it if a Code B/A player could replace them at any given time.

good luck finding new team(s) :D try out for its gosu.
