i thought about why this is like it is and here are my thoughts: i think khaldor and wolf arent a perfect casting-duo for several reasons, first of all, they both are trying to fullfill the analyzing part in the duo, while artosis and tastless are more like a "tastless is the entertaning/questioning and artosis the analyzing part", and this little things where tastless asks artosis something like "why do you think he is going for blablabla" and then artosis gives his input about it, that makes this duo so great. Tastless was not originally brought in as the "unknowing guy" but took over this part kind of unintentional i think, but it works great. One should never forget that the casting of GSL games is split into two parts for the most people at least, entertainment and information. So if there are two casters where everyone is kinda specialized to one part, that seems to fit....artosis with his perfect knowledge about the game, and tastless just beeing a really cool guy....it works. the second thing is, all the time i watch you khaldor and wolf, it seems a bit like you guys arent casting together, its more like two autonomous ppl casting a game. It somethimes seems like you just wait fot the other guyto finish his sentence so that u can bring in ur input, totally regardless about what the other one said.....especialy wolf seems to sometimes mention things that u allready mentioned before, at one or two times it almost felt like, he was not even listening to what u said but was just waiting for you to finish to bring in his input.....its hard to descibe for me since english is not my first language (but german is, and i love ur german casting khaldor, btw) but i try to give some examples. sometimes one of you guys says something like "he is going fo this because of blablabla" and the other one is just answering like "no he is doing this and this because of this"....it almost sounds like you guys disagree....and thats terrible. When tastelss (i love this guy btw) is saying something, i ll call it, "not stratigecly perfectly analyzed", artosis is never going to say "no he isnt, he is going fo this and this", he will more likely say somthing like "yeah this defentily could be, but for me it looks like this could maybe be some kind of blablabla"......i feel overall tastless and artosis have more respect from each other and they get along really well with each other outside of casting, and as a viewer you feel that. but in the end, khaldor, i want to tell you that you are a very good caster and this thread is not to ciritizice you but to help you improve. And sorry if i compare you guys to tastotsis all thread long, but they are just by far the best in the business and to be compared to them is kind of and compliment, isnt it?

When we see the game end in 2 seconds because of a Roach bust vs 4 hellions and no bunker, I'm glad they aren't overhyping it and are calling it as it is. I'm not some bronze scrub who is going to excited over it because the caster is yelling for no reason. Also, Artosis and Tasteless (especially Tasteless) are almost always spot on when they say it's gg. I can remember at least 10 games off the very top of my head where Tasteless has said "There is going to be a gg any moment" and BAM, a second later a gg is called. It's scary accurate and a talent only Tastosis has. It's okay to be wrong one game in 20 when the rest are bang on and the ones that aren't are extremely rare in the first place. Rose-tinted glasses here my friend. I have heard casts from Tastosis where they call it too early, and the other person comes back and wins (several actually, and one was fairly recent... though I cant recall the players). They are generally right, but generally when they say it... it should be obvious to anybody that can do any self examination of the matters at hand. I could call games just as accurately as they do. EDIT: Also, to anybody wanting to give feedback for khaldor, remember to stick to the hamburger method of critique. Give a compliment, then a criticism then another DIFFERENT compliment. Not only does it let him know what you like and start off positively, it lets you tell him in a kind way what you would hope to see changed. Then it ends on another good note. Positive, good, constructive feedback. Not a laundry list of stuff that bothers you. EDIT2: Also, make sure its something that can actually be improved. Dont go and try to change his personality.

Your 'analysis' just comes off as condescension. The players put in HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of hours of prep and you dismiss their efforts without the slightest hesitation to jump on the minutiae. And stop introducing players like "starting for team xx" when it's not the GSTL, or they aren't opening for the team. So fucking annoying.

Regardless, if I have only one thing to say it is this. I like your casting very much, Khaldor, however one thing stands out. It sometimes seems as though you rely on the phrase "Good trade" a little too much. It's a phrase you use very frequently to describe how a battle or drop went, and it works, its a good phrase and you should keep using it, but I do think it could be positive development to hear a little less frequently about trades of units and a little more about the way those trades happened. BTW, seeing you congratulate naniwa made my day when I saw it. Good to see!

Anybody can comment on things as they are happening, or after they happen. -- Record and listen (not watch) some commentary. There's a lot of dead space with awkward or unnecessary wording. There will always be some dead space, but it can be worked on and minimized, especially if the casters wrote up a bit of script before the matchups. (They might now, but I get the feeling even if it is done, that it is absolutely minimal at best.) Some comments should be kept private. One cast had commentators (I don't think Khaldor) saying Korean culture / television commercials were weird. Nobody expects tons of cultural sensitivity, but some comments are just in bad taste. -- More hard facts in commentary please. For example "they're on (xx) map, with the second longest distance between starting points in this map pool." or "0/1 upgrades in PvT mean Zealots can take 5 more hits and Stalkers 4 more hits from Marines" &c. -- In general, please try to keep commentary away from things that are actually obviously happening in game as much as possible. For some times, of course - crucial battles or scouting info - in game commentary is good. But for most of the rest of the time, viewers can see what's going on in game, and don't need to hear it as well as see it.

This kind of commentary is for the benefit of inexperienced players and especially people who are first time viewers who never played the game. If casters eliminate generic play-by-play, those viewers will miss out. Additionally, when casters have nothing else important to say or there is some general downtime, this helps draw people into the game a bit, while being completely quiet would be less interesting.

1) Miscalling a game due to bias. I respect you quite a bit and I know I couldn't do your job as well as you do, I respect that you, like me, are a person and have favorite players, but don't let that impact how you cast a game featuring one of those players as it's kind of off-putting to people who aren't fans of the same players. You're far from the only caster that does this though, this past weekend at NASL the casters would act as if Stephano had an insurmountable lead every time he moved a zergling, for example. 2) Excessive yelling. I understand getting excited during a game, I do it too, believe me, I've been known to get seriously hyped over some of my players doing impressive things. When I'm hyped and the caster is hyped too that's one thing, but when something fairly run of the mill happens and the caster starts screaming in a really high pitched voice as if it's the most exciting thing ever it's a little cringe worthy. Really though aside from those two things I have no complaints and you're one of my favorite casters. Keep up the good work.

I used to find your style to be a little defensive and you seemed to try to one-up your co-caster. Lately though you're growing into my favorite caster. You keep getting better man, keep up the good work. You're one of the most deliberate, practiced casters too, it's easy to tell you've put some time into perfecting your style.

Moar pls :D (The game was incredibly funny! best one I've seen since the rofl-fest of Open Season 1) If you have the ticket for Open season 1, go back and watch some of them. God, the play is hilarious in comparison to today. edit; didn't actually realise Khaldor posts in this thread =o Nice to see a caster actually responding to feedback. Definitely a good thing =)
