Just invite players with average results to the most challenging league in the world..
Can't agree with that decision to invite fan-favorites just to get more viewers.
Now GomTv became finally dead for me

Yes, Idra did leave his spot, but I disagree that Idra should have to do the up and down matches. People want to see Idra play on the biggest stage. GOM makes more money by having idra play in Code S. It's a win win.

I am a little bit disappointed by gom on that choice, I think it would be more appropriate to give the spot to someone like Boxer but I guess Mr Chae truly loves IdrA. Can't help it.

Gratz to Idra and Sen. Pls practice up so that you guys can give the Koreans a run for their money!

the chances of that happening is very very low. but nontheless i hope to see them perform and make it further into the rounds.

So if someone is popular they should be able to just bypass the qualifying part of the tournament?

GOM needs to get their shit together and think a little further than simply the profits they're gonna get in each month, otherwise people will start to lose interest in the GSL and then they get exactly what they're trying to avoid: less viewers.

Gom doesn't need to do anything. Just look at how many people view Idra's stream. Gom just need to welcome US viewers in open arms, it could care less about European viewers.

Disregarding the retarded "America vs Europe" bait, what the hell are you talking about? How can people still regard GSL as the best league in the world if they invite players out of nothing? At least when LiveForever left Code S in March GOM held a mini-tournament to determine who was worthy of filling the spot. Now they're just inviting players they feel will bring a lot of viewers. That's just bad for the competition. And I thought giving Code A invites to players getting 10th-20th place in MLGs was bad.

Gom could care less about Europeans when having Idra would mean more US subscribers, it definitely made an example out of European such as Naniwa.

Do you know what's even worse for competition? When you could just decide not to compete when viewers already paid money to watch you competing, it's unsportsmanlike. Now that's truly unprofessional, I guess that's a new concept to European.

Idra is also one of the very few foreigners that could actually participate in GSL 2012 Season 1 Code S.

You have to live in Korea to do it. Of all the foreigners living in Korea, other than Naniwa, Idra is probably the best player not already in GSL (Huk is already in). Who else would they have given it to? Stephano doesn't want it.

In some cases yes. In this case, yes.

Didn't Idra just ignore his last gomtv matches leaving an empty booth and his opponents waiting (zenio and some other players he didn't like and picked in the groupselection)?
In my opinion this was way more insulting, bad mannered and unprofessional than what naniwa did
(I'm not going to defend nani since I totally agree with his temporary ban from gsl)

Haha this is fantastic.
Nani getting kicked out and Idra taking his spot. Quite ironic as both are probably the 'bad' guys but Idra isn't half as bad as Nani imo. Sen in is ok too. Hope Idra can do well.

He informed GOM he was leaving, hence why they had a "tribute" video for him.
