There should be a wildcard match for the spot if they wanted to eliminate NaNi

Also according to their rules, Here There is NO mention of throwing of games etc... so i have no clue why they can ban NaNi

If that is the direct quote, I am officially pissed off at GOM. I've stood by them and bought every single pass since the first GSL.

But I won't be buying anymore. And it's off to the pirates I go.

They could not have misinterpreted NaNiwa's attitude more. Prize money hunter? NaNiwa has made it very clear that he doesn't give one shit about prize money.

now that i think about it: don't Code S players get a lot of salary from GOM? If someone took a shit in my house, I'd kick them out fast.

You get like close to 1 grand or so by just qualifying for Code S, as far as i know. I might be horribly mistaken.

About the quote, i don't know if its direct translation or what, but i just saw it and it is related as long as it is true.

This is completely rediculous for Naniwa to be kicked out of Code s...He earned that spot by training 8+ hours a day for, and for succeeding in MLG, and all that is taken away by GOM for an insignificant moral issue...and judging from the tone of the announcement, that they are replacing him with a "professional" player rather than a "prize-hunter", it seems like their decision was affected simply by their dislike of him. Not giving someone their hard earned Code S spot because you don't like him has no place in professional competition...I really hope there is some sort of uproar and GOM reverts their action.

Totally agree. We need to set up a petition or some kind of community rally to make some noise at least to how ridiculous GOM is acting in this. They have a terrible format with no rules stating probe rush isnt allowed, then ban a player who follows their shitty rules? Unbelievable really.

A petion for what? Are you fucking serious? GOM can enforce their rules however they please, give me a break.

So what if they can? That doesn't mean we have to agree with it.

you mean like the same way they didn't agree with naniwa's unprofessional conduct?

It all comes down to culture. A lot of us don't see it as a big deal. In Korea though things like respect, professionalism, and manner are seen in different ways. To us it didn't seem like a big deal it was a meaningless game and what not, its not a big deal to most. In Korea its a huge deal that he did that and didn't even try and I'm sure with Korean fans none of them would want NaNiWa in GSL for what he did and most importantly most of the players in GSL wouldn't want someone like that in GSL. Fact is GOM is a Korean run company and for all we know what he did may have broken a GSL rule and they can give him a punishment they seem fit with their standards and rules.

If there was a rule that stated it, it can be enforced and we all have to agree with that (though we need to know what the rule states specifically).

However if there was no rule it would be "unprofessional" for GOMTV themselves to ban Naniwa on the spot like that instead of giving a warning.

There are other punishements you can do without removing his seed.

lol... Its hilarious that they are replacing someone that made a short game of probe rushing by someone who will drop if he loses a drone... Idra... well im going to guess his stay in code S will be pretty short lived.

Second point, I don't understand why they are baneing naniwa, if he gets collosus, those banes won't do anything at all... wait banned? Ah, twitter typo.

I do agree that they shouldn't have just given a code S spot away and I think it was overly harsh to take Nani's spot. That said, it is their tournament and their organisation to run as the will... I'll definitely still be tuning in to see some wicked good SCII action.

that is some wild accusation you're throwing out there. Better not sprout those bs until you have proof like a logical person.

Funny how Naniwa most likely cares less about money than every single player in the GSL ^^

So let me get this straight...

If you try to cheat/exploit the system to get into the GSL like Choya did, you basically have to apologize and eveything is fine.
If you matchfix in games that actually matters for GSL, you get a "temp ban" by your team, not by the league.
And if you proberush in a game that had no other purpose than to take place in a tournament not directly related to the GSL, you lose your whole progress in the GSL and get punished by the league in the hardest way possible

Sorry GOMTV, as much as I respect you, but I think you made the wrong decision.

@Bolded part: Choya was actually banned from the first GSTL, after his ladder shenanigans.

And in addition, for the 100000000th time: there was NO! Code A spot in the ESV tournament in that month. So it actually didn't matter for GSL..

It was still a meaningful game for the tournament and nothing like both 0-4 and duking it out for the 4th/3rd place, and even though there was no code a spot there was still money on the line iirc.

This is exactly how I feel. I can't believe I'm actually legitimately upset over this but I am. Can't wait for Live on 3 tomorrow though for Scoots' take on it though

So true. It's the bias against foreigners. Like when a Korean does massive BM like dropping mules or making manner nexus, imagine if Naniwa (or any other foreigner) would taunt Nestea like that, probably get kicked out of code S.
