Then the first problem lies in the fact that he doesn't give a ****. And secondly, even if you don't care, you can at least try as hard as you can, can't you?

I'd happy if there'd be consequences. Not that I hate Naniwa, but this kind of behavior is not tolerated in Korea. GSL is "global" but still the majority of it is korean, ran by korean standards.

People are bitching because they've thought Naniwa was a dick for a long time.
|
Well, first of all, I don't see why any of you would care if he "gives a shit" or not...
Second, I don't see why a person should have to try as hard as they can to win a completely meaningless match, especially after they were just owned in a really important tournament. Especially when that match is against someone who is being touted as your rival; and your performance could be the basis for a lot of judgement.
So you would be just as pissed if he 4-gated and a moved to death? Would there be seven threads about it if he had done that? Nope. Because he would have jumped through the hoop for you like a good clown and gotten his pat on the head. It's ridiculous and I don't blame him for being over it. Every single person who has condemned him for this uses the same excuse:
"But what about ME!?!?!"
But what about him? Why should he care about you if you obviously don't care about him?

Well, don't you remember the earlier days of SC2? Everyone pretty much hated Naniwa, he dropped out of clans and such. Then he became good, and mannered up a little bit so everyone forgot about those things.

That wasn't the issue at all. The thread is about an article in Thisisgame complaining about what Naniwa did, and a lot of people losing respect for Naniwa over it. Some posters agree, some disagree, which is all quite normal.
The hilarious part is that so many of those who disagree are completely outraged, and the reason for this outrage is that other people are outraged. And they completely and utterly fail to realise this absurdity.
This is the internet. People get outraged about everything and anything. Finding people outraged about something on the internet is a complete non-event. And yet there are those in this thread who will get completely infuriated at this non-event, and in the same breath claim that the reason for their rage is that those they are angry with are themselves outraged over a non-event.
It's beautiful to watch.

I personally dont care with what he did, However most people want Esports to be treated more fairly in the general populace eyes right? this does not help. You don't see friendly Football(Soccer matches) Or all Star games for any-sport, with the other team just giving up. You play for the fans and for the chance to even be where you are at. Be interesting to see what happens.

Some of us feel very strongly that that would be ridiculous. It's not strange at all that people are getting passionate about defending someone.

Nice nani got owned... lost his code S seed in GSL due to his behavior yesterday...

My interest in sc2 just dropped down so low... Never GSL again for me...

if there isn't a rule for deny the probe rush...why they bann naniwa? this is terribly wrong for a sport.

Be interesting to see what happens. This post sums it up. Not only professional soccer players try to win friendly games they often get injured during them and lessen their chances to be a part of 1st team in their club. But to not try during friendly games is both shameful and unprofessional. There is not reason why same rules do not apply to SC2.

There is no rule that say a goalkeeper in football needs to protect his goal. By the rules he can just lean against the post and observe the game. What would happen to him if he would do that, even in a friendly match?

Because you are doing something you do not want to do in order to pay some respect to your fans, sponsors, and the organization you are playing for.
Doing whatever you want is never sportsmanlike, or professional in any setting. Take into account your setting and how it can affect other people.

Is this a joke? He's getting paid to play by me and others who support esports. We are not getting payed to watch, we pay to watch and we expect from players who are GETTING PAID to play not to make a mockery of the competition and/or their opponents. If you can't grasp the difference there is no point in discussing this at all.

No, he is playing to get paid, just like in any other sport. When a player does not live up to the team's standards, then he is released from the team after his contract is over. I see no point playing a game if there is absolutely no point playing it. It's a waste of time. What's the difference between this and cheese? Just because it ended faster doesn't mean he should get banned for it. He didn't break any rules.
When it comes to people crying about BM, grow the fuck up... This is an E-Sport, and just like every other sport, there is always BM. As long as it doesn't break any rules, who the hell cares about BM? Seems like such a childish thing to accuse someone of "Mom!! He said a BAD word...!" Seriously... grow the fuck up.

Nice translation, agree 100% especially with what the MVP coach said. He seems to think that Naniwa was a ticking timebomb, a problem waiting to happen. Really want to know if his position within his team will be effected, I hope it is frankly.

how can they take this so serious and basically as a personal Insult?
The only thing thats really schocking and unprofessional about this whole situation to me is how GomTV and some of the Korean coaches treat this subject. Totally ridiculous, arbitrary punishment and way over-the-top reaction. I don't know how other ppl see this in Korea, but to be so upset about this is ridiculous, especially cuz it's partly GomTV's fault for having a stupid format in their tournament and I wasn't suprised in the least that sth. like that happened. But obviously sth. was totally unimaginable to GomTV... -.-°

Professionals do not overreact this way. They stay calm and professionally analyse the situation.
