It's dumb, but it's not match-fixing. Not everyone in jail committed murder. Some of them are there for a couple of nights for getting drunk and punching a guy.

Code A seed was irrelevant to this tournament. Coca just threw the match because he's good friends with Byun. Not because he's qualified for GSL or something. It was just a retarded thing to do by both coca and byun, but it definitely was not match fixing. (unless you include intentionally throwing matches with no relation to money or anything as match fixing)

What if Byun fucks up his build because his dog licked his face? Is that honorable enough that CoCa can forfeit the game? Rules are rules. Showing up on time is a rule. The biggest difference is that White-Ra didn't request the action from his opponent. His opponent took it upon himself to throw 2 games. In this particular case, it's clear the Byun ASKED for Coca to throw the match, and Coca subsequently agreed to help him out. I get what you're point is, but I think there is a difference between both players deciding how the match will go, and one player taking it upon himself to throw his games as a sign of sportsmanship.

It was spontaneous and stupid but that is it. Coca can be reprimanded for his actions but the way Mr. Chae and SlayerS are going about it is close to destroying his career. Public opinion in Korea is especially harsh and I'm sure some people won't be happy until CoCa is forced to never be able to play SC2 professionally again. Does match-fixing really always have to have money involved? The match was FIXED by them, seen from the game, when one player asked the other to leave.

EGDeMusliM realized he couldn't make it to the tournament so he forfeited his games vs EGIdrA, which allowed IdrA to qualify. This sent DeMusliM to the loser's bracket where he also forfeited his games vs EGAxslav, also allowing Axslav to qualify. Yeah coca did the same thing as demuslim. It's just that match fixing is taken way more seriously in korea due to past history than it is in the foreign scene.

This case is also a good one to make example of, because it isn't serious. That is right, Coca and Byun will be returning soon enough, and no real harm is done to the sc2 scene. It is perfect case to serve as a warning with no damage done. If real match fixing happened, not matter how harsh the punishment is, it would be deal a huge blow to starcraft 2. Just view this as a positive thing. No damage huh? Except to CoCa who is now out of the opportunity to make 40K in Code-S and another 50K in Providence. But hey that is nothing at all! All is good! Ban him from ESV but he shouldn't be kicked out of his home and forced out GSL.

And byun too? So if you make some joke asking your opponent to leave and they do it, you're now a match fixer? How is byun responsible for coca leaving again? Why did it even go on to a third game if the tournament had a problem with the situation? I think those running the korean weekly should be punished, if anyone. Why did they let the situation continue on like that? Ya so these guys were doing something we didn't approve of and so we didn't intervene and just like them do whatever they pleased. If you don't take your tournament seriously why should the players?

Good thing it wasn't an important match and they weren't team mates huh. people are way over reacting over this. it's not like there was a code A spot for this weekly anyway. they were just having some fun.

Match fixing = killing esports. Anyone making death threat to esports deserves punishment. And Jessica/Boxer were going to kick Coca out of the team. I think I'll side with Boxer and John.
