Yes it's wrong, but people are definitely overreacting imo. It's a misstep but not big enough to ruin the career of a rare promising zerg *edit: wait, there isn't even a code A spot for this? Can someone confirm/deny? If there isn't then this is definitely even worst; he doesn't deserve this form of punishment.

He and Byun were just being dumbass kids playing video games non-seriously during a serious tournament. If you think that that level of immaturity is acceptable and an appropriate perspective on a game that people are trying to make a profession out of (especially when you're playing on Boxer's team), then I don't think you understand how serious tournaments and sports are in general. You realize what they did is technically match-fixing right? No, they didn't plan it ahead of time, but they still ended up cheating the system and breaking the rules by having one person lose on purpose so that the other person could automatically progress to the next round. You can't laugh it off as "Oh they're just being kids" when you have players playing for tens of thousands of dollars in similar tournaments and relying on everyone playing by the rules and not throwing games. And dammit, I really liked Coca. But seriously, what an idiotic thing for him to do.

I'd call it throwing a game. No third-party money involved, no premeditated "I'm going to lose so you can advance." Not match-fixing, IMO.

Did CoCa benefit in anyway leaving the game? no Did the BW match-fixers benefit from what they did? Absolutely People need to stop comparing apples to oranges.

All is good! Ban him from ESV but he shouldn't be kicked out of his home and forced out GSL. I'm talking from the scene's perspective. Face it, the money wouldn't be there in the first place without a clean and well supported scene from the public. Players salary and prize money are from those.

Coca and Byun were close friends on ZeNex, and they were just having fun on an online tournament. They're both young and were just playing around. Coca probably thought it was no big deal, just having fun with his buddy and then it all blew up in his face. Really sucks. I had him sixth in my Power Rank. Now he is out of the GSL entirely. Sad day. The Fionn curse strikes again
