Yes, because PvT late-game wasn't one-sided enough...

I really don't expect the armor and weapon up changes to go through. Toss doesn't need them and chargelots are already such an issue.

TvP is the worst match up for almost every Terran, very simple :

Protoss can get very early upgrades, because of the chronoboost. The strenght of Protoss was to have early upgrades and switch between Colossus and HT to force either Vikings or more Ghosts.

But now... I understand ( a bit ) the nerf of EMP, but man. Dealing with Protoss in late game is SO HARD...

Glad to see shield research cost dropped. Not sure why the others got dropped, but I'm not going to complain :D They still need to make at least one of the ghost's abilities researchable or go back to a higher gas cost before I stop crying myself to sleep at night, but this is a start.

People seem to be overstating the cost reduction for ground attack and armour upgrades... the difference between current and proposed 3-3 upgrades is 150/150. Over the huge amount of time it takes to get there....

Including shield upgrades, which nobody gets because they're more expensive, and gets ignored by EMP -_-.

I really don't understand the armor and weapons upgrade. It's not a huge deal, but what's the point of it exactly then? Protoss have chronoboosts and compared to the other races they don't need to get upgrades besides armor and weapon, and I suppose shield but they affect the same units.

I know why blizzard changed the cost of all the shields upgrades: They're encouraging players to upgrade shields more. I've always wondered why protoss didn't get the upgrade more, it upgrades the shields armor on everything! Buildings, ground units, air units, you name it! Plus, shields regenerate, so you get a LOT of bang for your buck!

I do fear that the level 1 shield upgrade being at 150/150 may be too potent. It upgrades EVERYTHING (I'm redundant aren't I?) for 150/150. It takes longer for your opponent to kill your base, it takes longer for them to kill your ground army... it takes longer for them to kill your air army. Etc.

We'll just have to see how it plays out. Blizzard might have gone to far in the "Let's encourage them to upgrade shields" thing.

Edit- Yeah, if you're saying Protoss is favored in PvT, you're mad. The only PvX protoss has a solid win rate in is PvP

Seriously, I am a master Terran AND Protoss, and it's always auto-win for me when the guy goes 1/1/1.

This is and was never imba. These changes are because EMP's are strong. But PvT still have a better ratio than TvP. I mean, I have 90% vs Terran when I play Protoss and 20% vs Protoss when I play Terran.

And I'm interested in seeing if Terrans will double the number of ghosts they have because of this, or if this reduced radius will pretty much not do anything at all to TvP. Is it the wrong nerf to EMP? Should it do less damage rather than smaller radius (or both)? Same range as feedback or storm? And what about Snipe vs. Zerg? Perhaps if ghosts just started with less energy or needed to research more, that would help as well. Ghosts even counter themselves, for cryin' out loud.

Regardless, I'm happy they finally got hit with the nerfbat. As a Protoss player, I'll take what I can get against ghosts.

I kind of think that ghosts are one of the only enigmas left in Wings of Liberty. Sure, there may be other problems left (like inherent ultralisk pathing... sucks for Zerg players x.x but that'll hopefully get sorted out in HotS with the burrow-charge), but some things can be meta-gamed out. I think ghosts are one of the only things left in WoL that require a little patching.


The comparison between unit A and B is wrong on so many levels. The races aren't identical and no unit of one race plays exactly the same role as an unit of other race.

It's the same falacy like the good ol' "2 lings kill a rine, wtfbbq lings imba!"
