There's more to the game than resource costs. I get the point he's making. Just look at what a few tanks in TvT do. Replicating a couple of Siege tanks with a Protoss army would make a Terran very wary of being the aggressor (something which they're usually quite happy and eager to be).


The thing I fear most about replicators is the synergy between units. Like the synergy between perhaps siege tanks, zealots and sentries.

actually if you think about it Zerg is getting alot of synergy with their units.

Viper: can make overlords/queens detectors, units that you use to spot for enemies/defend harrass with anyways. reducing ranged damage comes with zergy territory with their melee, and allows them to protect their squishies like infestors. the pull ability can be used to protect infestors/queens as well as defend harrass, remove the big units that typically cause trouble (siege tanks, collosus, infestors) and pick them off, similar to how mutas work currently.

The thing is it just means dont make any seige tanks in TvP if you dont want them replicated. They arent exactly the most useful unit in the game right now and none of the changes make me go yay tanks so they wont exactly exist to copy in the first place
