edit: on topic, it's probably some bad circulation. check the your posture and the way your arms and hands rest as your play. go out for a 20 min walk before you play, or some sort of warm-up activity. these are things that i have done myself.

yea just make sure ur hands stretch once in a while so ur circulation doesn't get caught off! and wear more clothes haha if u're tired ur whole body can get/feel cold
|
i wear hobo gloves, keep hands warm and still allows me to use my fingers properly

Crotch works wonders, male or female. Another good natural handwarmer is the armpits, especially after a game since they will be hot.
Those are both more of a temporary fix than a solution though. I would suggest heating your playing area. If you don't want to/ are unable heat your living space, maybe invest in a portable heater? I'm originally from massachusetts and can definitely relate to this problem.

I would say shake ur hands and arms in a fashion that makes ur blood go to the tip of ur fingers. When one plays games, the adrenaline starts pumping, this constricts the blood vessels (like the arteries) and causes bad circulation. To counter this, u have to be as calm as possible (I like to play calming music), shake ur hands and arms. Stretch out as much as possible(this is for ur muscles and to help circulation) and personally I like to wear warm clothes when playing starcraft, because warm muscles means less muscle fatigue.

Heat packs...the best zerg in the world uses it haha Watch Leenock he uses it all the time, they help so much, not sure where to get them from though
|
its a common problem. i fight against it very often.
Typical mind issue in my place. when i am not comfortable with a MU or a oponnent i get freezing hands. After the game it gets warm in minutes.
its the same by me with getting nervouse AFTER i won a game.
Calm down and focus on the game. keep it easy and play your best and dont stress yourself then you get warm hands and can play better. Your body wants more blood into your chest and brain becouse you stress yourself with gaming.

Mm according to this climate, I prefer some indoor activity But ye that's a good suggestion. Like doing push ups will warm u up and counter the natural excitedness due to adrenaline. Then u can enter the first ladder match in a calm and warm fashion. Win-win!

You can make your own hand-warmer. Just take a sock fill it with rice, then just heat it in the microwave. And you got a hand warmer, it's acually pretty damn good.
|
Actually in order to keep my hands warm I found it important to keep my wrists warm. So yeah any sweater should do the trick. If you dont like this kind of clothes, you can try wristbands,
|
Since my feet are controling my whole body temperature, wearing socks does the trick for me. Dunno if it works for everyone though.

I have a problem where I hold my breath when I get into intense situations, which inversely makes me play waaaay worse. I have the cold hand problem as well, I play in an 80 degree (f) environment to help with that though as well as wool socks, a hoody, and sweats. I also have some reusable hand warmers that help.
I do whatever it takes to stay warm...
anything.

renaissanceMAN , I thought I was alone on this. I'm also from Chicago, and my cold hands actually freeze and it affects my gameplay. I usually tell my teammates that I'm only doing macro and they need to take my units. It only gets worse as it gets colder outside. lol
|
It's annoying. I only get the cold hands in 1vs1. Any team games, or any other video games for that matter I'm fine.
|
I reeeaaalllly hate playing with cold hands. Its kind of ridiculous how much it hurts my play. I would be better off skyping while playing or being really tired than having cold hands. My APM drops significantly, there is a marked decrease in my accuracy, and it is overall an extremely frustrating experience. I hate that feeling of not being able to move your hands as fast as you know you can.
One solution is to buy those hand warming pouches people use when they go skiing, however it doesn't eliminate the problem entirely. You can also try dressing warmly and cranking up the thermostat as much as reasonably possible. I've tried wearing gloves but that didn't turn out so well, lol. Its an odd sensation when you're sweating from the intensity of a game yet your hands feel like they've been submerged in an ice bath... No fun.
|
Cold hands are really annoying. The thing is, it might even be bigger than just cold hands. My fingers and toes get icycold (to the point where I can't feel them anymore) and turn completely white sometimes when I'm out in relatively (<10C) cold weather (even while wearing gloves) or go swimming in cold water. It probably has something to do with veins and blood circulation, I should go see a doctor sometimes since my grandfather has exactly the same problem.

i can always get my cat to sit on my lap and just stick my hands under her in between games
Wish i could have my bird do that ;_;
I get cold hands too btw. But thats cause my monitor is infront of a window. I usually just warm them up & breath warm air on them between games

I get cold hands during the winter so what I've been doing is filling an old water bottle with hot (but not hot enough to burn me) water. I take the bottle and put it in my hoodie pouch which acts like a hand warming chamber and extends the life of the warmer. I've used a few different shapes and sizes of bottles but I find the ones that fit my hand the best end up working the fastest.

One of the perks of Australia, I've never had cold hands before. Never really had cold anything.
Maybe they could make one of those bacon keyboards have a cooling mode, for when 3 fans aren't enough.

Its coming up to summer here and i have the opposite problem, my hands are always sweaty and its too hot.
