Anybody know anything to fix this, or help? I just played a game with an average of 70 APM by SC2's new apm measurement and while that's not NaDa-like speed, my hands were moving pretty consistently, and now that the game is done they're still freezing.

Weird...my girlfriend says the same thing about me...long lost brother!? I would try some hand warming exercises, an instrument, other games, maybe even typing some mock paragraphs. I actually like to play multiple customs vs computers or actually just sit on my hands before I try to play so my joints don't hurt as I struggle to macro effectively. Maybe try lifting something, get your blood flowing.

So yeah. a pair of finger-less gloves is the answer. Get a tight pair to your fingers so you'll prevent muscle fatigue and twitching together (NASCAR does the same thing for the drivers to pressure the hands to keep them from getting tired. Edit: this would be better in the general section. Some of the bw people would probably know more then me about this.

I used to have a really hard time with cold hands, but i'm not exactly sure what I did to overcome it. I played a lot of super smash bros melee in tournaments and this was always an issue, so I have a few tricks if you really need warm hands. 1) go wash them with warm water. It works. 2) rub them together quickly. Friction is your friend. 3) keep your hands closed tightly to retain heat. As far as during sc2... i find no matter how fast you move you won't really increase your hand warmth. This is probably because your fingers/hands are one of the fastest cooling parts of your body and while playing a game you actually are keeping them isolated from other sources. If you look at tip #3 above, you'll know that surface area relates to how much heat dissipates, so moving them around and splitting them for button presses actually increases surface area and thus they get colder. It probably doesn't help that the muscles that control your fingers aren't even in your hand, so the heat from the work isn't put into keeping your hands warm. For RTS is have found that cold rooms suck. I've played many a game where I shivered for 20 minutes straight and the shaking actually reduced my precision. Not much you can do without simply making yourself warmer, either by making the room warmer or wearing warm clothes and cloth gloves if you need them.

1) Drink a warm beverage, the heat helps. 2) Stretch each finger and wrist after every game 3) On occasion take a shot of liquor ( will take the edge off and increase blood flow.. it may impair you) hope it helps! Also get up and walk around abit seemed to help me

It could also be attributed to poor blood circulation to the hands. Washing your hands is great. Do not blow on your hands to warm them, the moisture from your breath sticks to your hands and robs the heat away.

LOL what the fuck. x) I get cold hands a lot, but I find that it happens to me when I get nervous during my first game or so. It goes away and I end up burning up like crazy after a few minutes into the game. But if cold hands persist, I'd probably take a warm shower or get some hand warmers. I used to get extremely cold from head to toe, and I wrapped myself in a robe during those times.

I'm doing elevated pushups, ones that work out my triceps help the circulation for me a bit better. warm beverages work well, keeping the rest of your body helps too, especially your feet. if you can solve rubik's cubes fast (less than a minute) running through that a couple times can help, I'm warming up using a power ball as well. And of course, do them often. Buffcraft! :D

Once you are playing , especially on tournaments you are getting a bit of fear + lots of excitement. Increase of adrenaline in your body causes cold hands and sometimes feet as well. This isnt physical but hormones and brain related thing. And its happening to a lot of players who compete and feel pressure. How to stop it ? You can warm up your hands but once again they will go cold. The only way to not get cold hands is to stay calm and increase the trust in yourself.

Those are both more of a temporary fix than a solution though. I would suggest heating your playing area. If you don't want to/ are unable heat your living space, maybe invest in a portable heater? I'm originally from massachusetts and can definitely relate to this problem.

One solution is to buy those hand warming pouches people use when they go skiing, however it doesn't eliminate the problem entirely. You can also try dressing warmly and cranking up the thermostat as much as reasonably possible. I've tried wearing gloves but that didn't turn out so well, lol. Its an odd sensation when you're sweating from the intensity of a game yet your hands feel like they've been submerged in an ice bath... No fun.

So my advice is to just put on a lot of layers of clothing so your entire body gets really warm. I believe cold hands isn't something you can fix well by warming the hands. Rather, the entire body is too cold and the hands suffer extra from this.

Extremities (hands, feet) get always cold first when room temperature is too low. For a quick warmup, I recommend putting your hands in warm water for a minute. Not too hot, of course, dont burn yourself. This works much better than rubbing or using a heatpad (like the pros at gsl). Thats because water has a relatively high heat capacity and immersing the whole surface of your hands will yield better results than just warming up a fraction of it.

Your cores are certainly not slowing down with lower temperature. Lower temperature will always make your cpu's job easier since all conductors have less resistance. Ideally you'd want -270° with all parts superconducting, then your comp would run overclocked to the max powered just from the battery of your wristwatch.

Fill your sink (or bowl) with fairly hot water, and bathe your hands in there for a little bit. Like a couple of minutes or so. Then immediately dowse or bathe them in cold water. Not for as long of course. It'll feel great, trust me I know it sounds crazy to use cold water to stop cold hands... but don't knock a working method. :D You should be good to go, but, if you have 2 seperate bowls or sinks you can repeat hot->cold a couple more times (less time with cold, more time with hot). It really reduces stiffness and boosts circulation I think. Give it a go if you think I'm mad.

warming up, exercising you fingers often soothes the feeling, also if you use ergonomically designed input hardware you can minimize the symptoms (the best ones are really expensive though) 100% solution to the problem would be a powerball (google it), excercise 10 minutes per day and it completely prevents any RSI related phenomenon, most people don't bother with it but i bought one and my RSI completely disappeared. if i were a korean player coach i'd make it obligatory to have and use one side effect is that my forearm is starting to be popeye-like;)

The best thing against that is obvious giving the hand what it misses - muscle action which provides better blood circulation. So it may be the best to just knead a deformable thing with your mouse hand if it gets cold. (so maybe kneading a handwarmer pillow is the best way of dealing with cold hands^^) greetings Meega P.S: sry for bad english^^

Keeping your head warm greatly influences your overall body temperature, so wearing a hood can actually help you keep your hands warm.

If it's cold outside, like it is right now, my hands will stay cold for way longer than I think it reasonably should even when I feel warm ,so fuck knows -.-

I would buy it. I'm usually never cold and also don't have cold hands except while I'm gaming. It's such a nuisance.

Usually your hands are elevated on the desk when playing which can contribute to lower circulation of blood. Rubbing, stretching and massaging them will help with circulation as well. If it's super cold where hand warmers and keep a hot cup of tea/coffee close by and drink using both hands ![]() This is actually on point. I used to get ice cold hands after a few games. My chair/desk setup so the angle from my elbob to the mouse was pointing upward (ie mouse was too high). I went and got a new desk and chair and now my arm is pretty much perfectly parallel to the ground and I havent had a problem since.
