Hey wassup guys!
I'm about 800 Master now and I would say the big thing holding me back is COLD HANDS. When I just sit by my computer doing random stuff, my hands don't get very cold... but as soon as I start playing, my hands freeze which makes them clumsy and I keep misclicking and screwing up. This is super annoying and I'm not sure if it has something to do with adrenaline or whatever, but it's a big problem for me.
I even have a travel-size hairdryer which I use to warm my hands up inbetween games. It's very nice and if you don't have one of these, I recommend you get one cuz it's super effective and gets your hands warm and nice. But the effects don't last for a 45 minute game, unfortunately. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does anyone else have this problem? Why do you think this happens, and how do YOU keep your hands warm?

I have the same problem. Considered getting myself some hobo-gloves with holes for the fingertips. I usually just put on a sweater though.
|
I have a warm drink nearby (Tea, Coffe, Even hot chocolate would work) and if my hands get too cool, I grab the cup/mug to warm them up again.
Just make sure not to do this while microing/macroing heavily. Moving your hands around a lot too will help, try using hotkeys faster, and spam if you feel your hands are getting cold.
|
Sometimes when I play I get sweaty palms. If the room is not very cold my hands don't get very cold. Probably cause I spam really hard at the beginning of the game ( you get used to spamming when you live in a 50 degrees F dorm room!!)

Must be the nerves. I have this problem sometimes too, but its more so me feeling cold all over rather than just my hands. A heater fixes it nicely tho

I was thinking it would be cool to output hot air from your PC and blow it over your keyboard... Not sure how practical it would be.
I usually wash my hands with hot water when I'm up, and keep the room pretty warm, but I too get very cold hands from playing.

Same problem here.
I used to play WoW arena with a friend over skype, and whenever we started to queue for matchmaking, we always started simultaneously getting really cold.
Could have been nerves even though we never felt particularly nervous... or simply a case of noticing the cold more while needing to concentrate?
It's especially strange since my rooms always incredibly warm from having computers and laptops on all day.

I have never heard of ones hands getting cold WHILE playing that is rather odd. Seems a little counter intuitive to what should occur biologicly. Are you sure its not that you are noticing more that your hands are cold while playing?
That aside I have had issues where my hands have kept me from performing the tasks required. A handful of practice games seems to suffice for me.

Fill a plastic bag with warm water and use it as a hotpack and warm your hands. I "suffer" from cold hands until I've played a couple of games. After that my hands are really warm.
|
It's the adrenaline rush that makes your hands get cold. It sucks I find that spamming hard at the start of the game and having something to warm your hands on like a hot cup or hand warmers are really really nice. Yuck =P

This could be do to stress you are feeling while playing the game. Your body will divert blood away from superficial unimportant areas, such as your hands, and have more blood flow going to your vital organs. With less blood flow your hands will be colder.

I indeed get this problem.. more so in longer games.. my hands are freezing cold but sweaty.. weird :S
Was tempted to buy some heat packs but thought it wouldn't make that much of a difference; so i just play through it now!
|
Woah I thought I just had freak hands, this always happens to me. I'll be fine except my hands start freezing over even when spamming 400 apm -.- Glad to see this is at least not too abnormal
|
I get this problem, you just got to warm up anyway you can, for me it is spamming early in the game.
|
My hands get cold all the time when I play... only when it starts affecting my gameplay do I stop (aka I don't really have a solution to it T.T)
|
when i havent eaten for like 8hours and go play some games i get cold hands, after eating its getting away~

Instead of artificial heating, I suggest taking a break.
Here are some tips to improve circulation:
Form a fist and individually move your fingers up and down. Form a fist and position your thumb on the knuckle of your index finger and slide it over your knuckles in a swiping motion.
These motions also relieve sweaty hands.

I does not happen to me if I use very warm clothes on the upper body, a warm pullover or jacket or something. The body uses the extremities to regulate core body temperature and starts to pump more blood into your arms and legs and your feet and hands get warmer.

You could try altering your hand/arm positoning related to the rest of your body/desk.
I used to have this problem a lot when I played sitting lower with my hands somewhat raised. I've since raised my chair up a fair bit so I avoid putting any extra pressure on my wrists and it's been a lot better. I have no idea if circulation is a legitimate reason or whether it's coincidence, but yeah, that really helped me.
