Yea just put your hands in your pants for like a min and they'll be warm

It's only a problem for me at the start of the game, so just need to get that heat going.

This happens to me a lot. My hands usually get warm after about an hour of intensive playing though.
When it's really bad, I use a plastic bag with hot water.

Weird, if anything, my hands might get slightly sweaty.

Yep, I love having that cold sensation. If I start feeling warm at all while playing I have to cool down. (I have a fan running in my room all year round, and I'm in northern Michigan)

This happens to me as well. And it happens to Pros, watching GSL you can see some of them using hand warmers in between games. I usually just go to the sink and run them under hot water for a few minutes.

That's just because it's really cold there, it's the same reason you see them in those huge parka like jackets a lot.

First, do you live in a cold weather environment or is your room set to a cold temperature? In the winters, I have this problem, but I also have a medical condition that i believe contributed to it.. Makre sure your hands are below your heart when you are playing.. if you sit low in your chair and your hands are above your heart, its a circulation issue..
I don't have time to play with myself

Yeah, which is weird considering I sweat a lot, so you'd think that it wouldn't be cold but it is.

Really weird lol

After a few games they warm up, unless you play really slow, in which case they'll probably stay cold

I don't think it's very effective to artificially warm your hands by using hot water or anything like that because it's not touching the underlying cause of your problems and you will notice your hands getting cold again after some time.

First you should try to use exercises like described on the first page to warm up your hands by improving circulation. I would also recommend to try doing some exercises that improve circulation in your whole body like push-ups or sit-ups which will also make you feel more calm from my experience.
Then you should make sure there are no other parts of your body feeling cold like your feet. So make sure you are wearing something with long sleeves and long pants and/or thick socks.
I want to be with those who share secret things or else alone.

Cold hands are one of the first signs of RSI. Instead of artificial heating, I suggest taking a break.

Here are some tips to improve circulation:

Form a fist and individually move your fingers up and down.
Form a fist and position your thumb on the knuckle of your index finger and slide it over your knuckles in a swiping motion.

These motions also relieve sweaty hands.

It has nothing to do with RSI or hand speed affecting local metabolic rate.

As explained earlier in this thread, it is an acute stress reaction to playing starcraft which diverts blood flow away from the peripheral organs (hands and toes) and towards central organs to allow you to run or fight. However, this isn't good for a precision based game like sc2.

You should instead be aiming to heat your hands up (as you are doing) and/or attempting to reduce the pressure/stress you put on yourself with each game that you play.

Circulation tips above will work for a short term, but they will then be overridden by the stress response after a while.

I am a medical student - please don't quote and argue using wikipedia.

I am a heart surgeon and what are you talking about?

jkjk, I'll believe you. I'll edit the first line to avoid the spreading of wrong information.

Lol I wasn't getting at you, it's just annoying on internet where someone will come along with a link that is like to wikipedia and wrong and be just be spreading nonsense

And after you stop playing you suddenly feel hot and even sweat?

That happens to me.

It's the adrenaline. You obviously get very nervous.

Your body believes it is in danger and thus more blood is pumped to your brain and vital organs, (taxing that blood on your extremities).

Just put on some more clothes when you are going to play. And grinding games also makes you more used to tense moments in the game and so less adrenaline/ less cold.
