According to quite a few people, it definitely ISN'T a cannon, so in what way would it attack WHILE burrowed face-first? I think it might create tremors in the ground to damage units, similar to the Lurker? And yes, I suspect a Hydralisk upgrade. I think this is a cool idea actually, because I'm not entirely persuaded it has cannons.. maybe it could stun/slow units it hits too

Anyways I just looked for a few minutes and couldn't find a picture of the unit, but basically the Gray race in that game had a slow moving unit that could "deploy" by putting its head in the ground and exposing its ass, turning into a turret for zone control. Basically it was like a lurker if a lurker could be seen without scans/observers. Maybe Blizzard is scared that invisible zone control for zerg would allow them to hold too easily in the early game for low larva cost, allowing them to over drone and win the game, so they give us a toned down version.

While the missile crab looks similar to the outline, I think it's just because of the angle we're giving hiding the front left leg. Anyways, Blizzard is just ripping off another old RTS: Dark Colony.
