Dont get me wrong, the guy is good, but definetly shouldnt even be a choice for top foreigner right now. Idra is polarizing. He would also be very high in a "who's the worst player in the world" poll. Hell, he would be high on any poll you could imagine. "Who is the most well-mannered pro player?"
SlayerSBoxer White-Ra Sheth Idra

Just look at the results of the other online qualifiers for major tournaments: TSL3: all players in the Ro4 have won a TLopen NASL season1: Puma won the online qualifier, ... just before winning whole tourney.

You can separate tournament wins from player skill, you know. A player can be the best in the world and not win a single tournament.
Just look at Clide.

Lol, this is what happens when u put idra on a list. He clearly doesnt belong there but he gets 260 votes because of all the fanboys. Players such as Dimaga, Ret, and Naniwa get overlooked when they clearly should be at the top of the list.

Personally I'm going to suspend my judgment of Stephano until I can see him play in the IPL. Online qualifiers are still online qualifiers and we've learned that you can't take them that seriously. I think Huk is the best foreigner because he has by far the best results in the GSL. Huk has been in code S for a while now, and made it to the ro8 recently, meanwhile Thorzain and Naniwa can't get out of Code A ro32.
Where does it say that we can only use GSL performance as a reference? Thorzain manhandled Huk the last BO3 they played.

Thorzain gives good games and I would say is easily the second best and has the highest untapped potential, but HuK isn't the type to slow down either.
Watching their last BO3 all i'm seeing is Thorzain completely crushing huk.

We know Huk can, so that's one. Only those who live in Korea, naturally. For example SaSe, he was even in the top10 for a while. The main reason Huk is still in Code S is that most top players there pick the hardest opponents when it comes to group selection, to prove their worth and give the fans great games. Huk on the other hand, always picks the easiest possible opponents in order to have a chance to linger for another season. Nothing wrong with that though, if I wasn't able to compete at the level of the best I would likely do the same. So when Naniwa, Sase and Thorzain get opponents even easier than the ones Huk is in a group with in Code S and proceed to lose to them (generally 2-0), what exactly does that say about them? Please state which players Thorzain, SaSe and Naniwa has had in their group and lost to 0-2 but Huk has had in his Code S group and won against. Or did you just make that up? Regardless, No need to take a way around it and bring in some third party (with some flawed logic of paper beat stone, and stone beat scissors, so paper must own scissors!!11). Thorzain and Huk has faced each other several times. Twice in the past few days, at Dreamhack, in which Thorzain won convincingly and in the EG Masters Cup, where Thorzain also won, both were best of threes. As far as I know, they've faced each other three times in public and Thorzain has won each time. As such, I take Thorzain for the stronger player than Huk, though they are quite close. That logic retarded as it only proves who is better in PvT. For example MMA usually beats Nestea but Nestea is a better player because Sc2 is not all about one matchup. On a side note, if you have to throw insults around, it is because your point isn't good enough. As for who is the better player, them facing off and seeing the results is far superior to determine who is the better player than your method (throwing insults and flames around stating who you think is the best). Facts are always better than opinions.
However, if you want opinions. Boxer said in an interview that Thorzain is the player he most likes to watch. MMA said at MLG that Thorzain is the best foreigner. DongRaeGu said in the TL Attack last week that he considers Thorzain to be the best foreigner. Of course, the facts and the opinion of MMA, Boxer and DRG could all be wrong and you be right due to flaming more. Perhaps if you continue to throw even more insults in your next post, you will be even more right.

Seems like half of the people are hating on idra just to jump on the bandwagon , he's a good player with solid mechanics. Get over it.
That being said , I voted for sen although he hasn't been in the spot light lately.
Btw , did stephano do anything signifcant to deserve to place so high among all those incredible players? ( ret , naniwa) or is this more like a popularity poll.

I think White-Ra wins that.
Sheth and BoxeR both seem to like sarcastic, subtle, but really harsh insults once in a while.

I think Stephano and Mana are the best atm. Idra was in top 10, maybe even top 3, a year ago but now he is not even in top 20 imho.
|
protoss: Mana zerg: Stephano terran: Thorzain
After the Homestory Cup I would have picked Huk, but I don't know how to rate Huk. I've never seen a good PvT game of him, at least no good macro game, and his last performances outside of Korea were horrible.

Lol @ all the Idra hate. It seems he's all everyone can talk about.
Changing the subject, I feel Sheth should be there instead of Ret ... and Demuslim instead of Kas. Also, I haven't seen Dimaga play in a while, so Idk how he's doing. I'm not convinced about Stephano (even though TL seems to love him) and Naniwa, though I'm not sure who I'd replace them with. Major, Fenix, Sjow maybe?

Idra really suffers from the fact he mostly plays good players. I don't think any foreigner except Huk has to play as many Koreans as Idra does. Idra also doesn't play many if any small tournaments and thus isn't able to boost his reputation by crushing much lesser players.

Smashed huk in the ass in the EG Master Cup as well. Looked about the same as Dreamhack. Thorzain only lost when he went for the all-in. For some reason Thorzain doesn't seem very proficient with doing them, lost horribly to Genius in the gstl as well when he could have easily taken him in a straight up game.
