He beat PuMa in a best of 3 in a LAN 2-0... also beat in 2-0 in EG masters cupo. Because he's won zero major tournaments. Anyone without a major win is irrelevant here. Stephano/Sen hasn't won anything as well beside some small tourneys online right? MaNa has been in a quite a few final and second places already Stephano doesn't deserve a mention either. The correct answer is Huk, easily and I don't even like Huk and the day he's in Code B is a good day for me but clearly he's the best foreigner. Dreamhack winner, Homestory winner, MLG winner, Code S, highest foreigner at the last two MLGs. No one else compares to Huk's achievements. Thorzain performed extremely well in Korea when he was there and took DRG down to the wire at DH while beating HuK in that same tournament. Right now, Thorzain is playing at the highest level of any foreigner. Thorzain lost more games than he won in Korea. That is performing 'extremely well'? Thorzain was outplayed by DRG. He got some lucky spawns and looked worse than DRG even in the games he won. Every terran is outperformed by DRG, His 1st trip to Korea and performing the way he did? I see that as performing extremely well, he only got roflstomped in 1 game iirc and that was due to banshees. Also his code A match was the day after he landed so none of the foreigners performed well in those. Falsehood, surely you must have heard of mister immvp I've heard of him + Show Spoiler + and he lost 0-2 to DRG in AOL
And is 3-3 overall against him. Wouldn't call that "outperforming", both are very solid at this matchup.
Also barely won 3-2 vs scfou back in that lg thing. not sure what his record vs mma is (just naming off some top tvz'ers who don't get "destroyed" vs drg. Like I said though they're all top tier at this matchup

its a toss up between HuK (hes got the results) and thorzain(plays some serious sick games_
honestly idra shouldnt be on the list. nowadays hes just a hyped up 2ndrate player. since come back from korea his results have gotten worse and worse.
my opinion not fact

Huk is in Code S. Thorzain is not. Don't get me wrong, Thorzain is a hell of a player, but he lost in code A ro 32. For me results trump all other considerations, so the only foreigner competing in the toughest tournament in the world is, by default, the best foreigner.

At that time sC had just barely lost 2-3 to NesTea and had the sickest 2 rax going, so not surprising. He's the only zerg to consistently take games and matches off these top TvZ players also it seems. I think he's 3-3 with MMA?

you really should have added an other option sense you left out a lot of our high level players. EG.Machine , EG.LzGaMeR mOoNgLaDe coL.CaTz and coL. Drewbie to name a few

DRG is amazing at ZvT mid game, but I feels that he has problem with late game in general
|
I'd say it's a tie between ThorZaIN, NaNiwa, and Stephano which works really well since it represents of all three races.
I'd have picked HuK over NaNiwa if HuK made it out of his ezpz group.

That's a poor argument, it just forgoes all analysis. If you want to say that you could say he shouldn't be in Code S because he got knocked out by MC who isnt even in Code A now. But that of course would be stupid because you have to analyze the games and careers of the players. When I think of sen and thorzain I think of two players I would bet on to beat huk especially with the state of protoss relatively easily.

ehm... machine and lzgamer are not nearly at that level.
but yeah, its sadly impossible to name more then 12 players @ polls.

Thorzain. Otherwise, Huk. See now I never really got why people have this perception about Thorzain. I recall many who used to say he's only good in a TSL setting where he has at least a week to prepare for his next match, even after he went 9th at MLG (losing to MC and taking two more games off him in the process) and barely losing out to July and Hasu for his Dreamhack group. More recently, he's done pretty well in the GSTL for a foreigner, which exposes you to a variety of different opponents giving you little preparation. He also came in second at the Dreamhack invitational. Willing to bet he'll roflstomp his IPL3 group as well :p.
He's good on short notice but he does better when he gets to prepare for his opponent. In Dreamhack, he had a general idea of who he was playing since there's only 8 people. In TSL, he knew exactly who he was playing and had time to prepare a lot so he dominated everyone inthat tournament.

But what have Machine and Lzgamer done that would possibly merit a place in the 'best foreigner' discusion? Niether of them have put up any result that wold remotely qualify them for the discussion; ditto for moonglade and catz. Drewbie has shown some good MLG results, so if you squint your eyes and take a few shots you may be able to convince yourself he belongs in a discussion with Huk and Naniwa (people who have, you known, won MLGs). But Catz, Moonglade, Machine, and Lzgamer have not done anything that would merit a comparison to the top foreigners mentioned in the OP.

I think a more suitable question is, 'if each player played each other 30 times each, who would hold the highest winning percentage?'
I believe the strongest contender would be HuK.

do i have to remind you about the drewbie vs europe series?
3 to 17 maps. not even the TOP of europe. just saying ^^ But yeah, drewbie, moonglade and catz are closer then machine and especially LzGamer (who doesnt even knoe what race he rly plays ) And i LOVE EG.

agree, especially if youre not used to. BUT: MMA said himself how impressed he was with stephano. and its not like its his only achievement^^
Lets just w8 for IPL3 - i expect at elast top 16 from stephano - best foreigner in that tour.
