Very true. But against some players, 80 drones 5 hatch on minute 8 is not the right way still belongs to the "top 12"
tbh, when i did that list i had problems with nerchio, whitera, idra, kas, sheth @ listing. i wouldve loved 16 into the poll.

Thorzain is on the skill level of a regular Code A Terran. There is really nothing that impressive about his play, even if it is solid.
Stephano is impressive because of how fast he has been delivering results, but many of this is from players of lower caliber. You can't use ladder to judge the skill level of someone if they are at a pro level.
Sen simply doesn't stand out... what results have he given apart from finishing high in NASL?
Seem like weird choices.

Idra honestly is not even close anymore, he would not take a game off most of the "s-class" foreigners, Select, Thor, HuK, Nani etc. Surprised he's so high in the poll.

It's mostly a nerves issue TBH, skill-wise he's around their level but he doesn't do as well in tournaments.

Naniwa is no longer best F Protoss since he got own so bad in code A twice and numerous of time in the GSTL not mention the MLG. That title should go to Mana now and yes he is better than Huk in PvT and vZ maybe in same level in PvP

well. every foreiger has his weakness if you compare to top koreans. so who is your favorite? HuK? look his results, watch it closely, dont overshadow everything with "staying in code S". Watch who he plays and how the results were, not only in GSL. Ofc there were travelling issues, but still, i dont see him as the ultimate foreiger - there simply is none.
Currently, at that current week, i would give a 4 way tiebraker between HuK, Stephano, ThorZaiN and MaNa and watch the result

Then I looked at the other poll about who should NOT be on the list. Idra is #1 with about 50% of the vote, then I sighed because I knew the trolls won. Huk is the only Foreigner in code S because most of the foreigner players dont care about code A or S

i would give a slight edge to huk in PvZ, a tiny tiny edge to huk in pvp, maybe even and a slight edge to mana in PvT. so yeah, pretty even match. naniwa leaks a bit behind atm, but in a month, i feel like he is up there.
ppl like kiwikaki, hasuobs, socke, tod, sase and even white-ra are a bit behind i feel

Thorzain, although Huk comes close.

More like they don't have the skills needed to succeed in either bracket.

true.
But: you think idra or ret wouldve been able to? MMA is 4-2 vs Nestea in the last bo3s. just wanna mention that.
btw: watch my EU top ranking, although its a week old now. ill update it in about 2 weeks! http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=182293

No, neither Idra or Ret atm could beat any top tier Korean. Doesn't mean Stephano should be revered among our top players just because he's a ladder pro and did good in some online qualifiers. He's yet to shown any actual LAN results. I'll hold my breath till then.

For me results trump all other considerations, so the only foreigner competing in the toughest tournament in the world is, by default, the best foreigner.
This just doesn't hold up for me. When I look at the competitors who are coming to an event I like to size everyone up. Among the foreigners I try to look at just who is more likely to do overall better in this tournament (without knowing where they land in the bracket) who would I bet on. Basically what I'm getting at is, who plays this game better. I look at Huk and I look at Thorzain. I pick Thorzain. That's the better player, fuck if you're code S or not, there are many circumstances for as to why you are or aren't. Who truly looks like they play at a higher level in recent times (past 3-4 months).
Should it be:
Huk, the hit or miss guy with excellent micro, generally decent macro, but sometimes questionable decision making. The guy who can be a maestro with blink stalkers and has moments of brilliance (like the hold of Thorzain's Thor rush at dreamhack or when he beat Naniwa at Homestory), but then also will sometimes build a fuckton of sentries, get overly aggressive, paint the map with unnecessary forcefields, and just flat out die. But he has better results.
OR
Thorzain. Patient, very calm, excellent macro, occasionally tries uncommon strategies, and is generally a smarter player. However, sometimes he's a little tooooo passive and methodical and at others his production just doesn't quite line up with what he's doing.
Thorzain has the edge in my book.

I believe the strongest contender would be HuK.
That is actually a very good and interesting way to look at it. Unfortunately for your argument it has convinced me (intensely) I shouldn't vote for Huk. Instead I've decided the only sensible choice is Thorzain and Sen, almost certainly Sen.
Although what it has really done is made me desire this insane round robin X 30 tournament. Who has the money to sponsor it?

What is it about the internet that makes people lose their ability to reason an argument? You realize if you ever said this in real life you'd never convince anyone of your point? Why would the internet be different?
That is of course leaving aside the being rude part for no reason.
Only in a world in which you were 100% indisputably right would a response like this make sense, but even then you'd come off poorly.
