He is Korean, was born in Korea, speaks Korean as his native language, considers himself Korean and lives and works in Korea.
It could, by some long shot extremely broad definition, possibly be considered before but just give it up now, he's Korean. It is as silly as calling SaSe chinese, except even more silly as SaSe lived and played from China for longer than Select did in NA.
The same concept applies to people in other sports. An American basketball player that plays in an European league, is a European basketball player. It doesn't matter where you're from, but what environment you play in and who you play against. Select has played in the North American setting from Day 1, making him a North American player.

I feel like Stephano is at the same time the most overrated and underrated player in the foreign scene if that makes any sense at all.

I would like to add or clarify what you mean, that you also have to train there, not just playing in that kind of setting. So for example if Select were in Korea but only played in NA online events, he would still be a Korean player since he trains there.

I'm a little bit surprised SeleCt is so low in the poll, this guy is amazing
|
really hard to tell imo, but voted for tzain cause im bias^^
|
lol @ IdrA being higher up on the "shouldn't be in the poll for the top foreigner" poll than Kas.
Sure, I don't think IdrA is the #1 foreigner either, but he's significantly better than some of the other names there. And there was a time when he was absolutely in the running for #1 foreigner.
IdrA is definitely a love-him-or-hate-him guy.
Anyways, I'm thinking Thorzain is #1 at the moment

yea but the IdrA, Naniwa fans probably changed things a bit.

SeleCT is KOREAN! With this logic that SeleCT is NA, TLO is Swedish and HuK/Jinro are Korean. Even in his Profile and Tournament-Signups he is Korean.
|
1.Thor 2.Sen/Nani 3.Huk/ret others don't even compere with those 5 dudes.
|
As a personality, HuK is the best foreigner imo.

Dirk Nowitzki is an American

In my opinion it's Mana, without doubt. I'm really surprised to see he hasn't gotten more votes, but then again he's a European player with very little community exposure. Not that I'm skilled enough to judge players individual gameplay in any creditable fashion, but when Mana is on the top of his game I feel he's in a league of his own. He's just blown me away lately.

Jinro <3 no question about it

idk i think consistancy is a bigger factor when thinking of best foreigner rather then what hes cappable of.

Me. Duh.
Seriously though I think the question doesn't work well. This is a popularity contest.
That said, my vote goes to Huk for his consistancy.
|
I think it should go something like this: Best player overall: Thorzain Best foreigner: SeleCt Best American: Huk Best European: GoOdY
Oh, and I forgot best Korean: Sen obviously

I guess people say SeleCT is a foreigner because he became famous while playing from the US and reaching the top of the NA ladder rather than Korea unlike most other Koreans.

Thorzain, Thorzain and Thorzain. He is a total and complete baller with nerves of steele, and he is the one of the most respected foreigners in Korea.

Ret/Huk/Thorzain are PROBABLY the best of their respective races. Although it is incredibly easy for me to replace Ret with Stephano/Nerchio/Sen and Huk with Naniwa/Sase/(maybe MaNa). Thorzain is probably the best Terran though Both idra and ret have more results than Stephano and Nerchio, results matter more than ladder stomping Sen is going to get worse because he is in Taiwan, no longer playing KR servers and will get worse very quickly. Clarification : He is focusing on Taiwan esports and tourneys, he is not even top 200 on KR/TW ladder and doesn't practice as much there.
nice quick fix there, what do you know about his practice though, he might not even play on his Sen account. So much nonsense from you like usualy.

MorroW should be at the top of that list. His micro and macro are beyond amazing but his results so far have not been great. He even has amazing game knowledge from his mapmaking and race change. He is by far my favorite player, and I wish he could get the spotlight more.
