Why do so many people dont like Stephano ? If this was Idra it would be a whole different story. I sayd it many times if Stephano was born in the USA he would be a god here on TL That may be true but you have to understand that it is not just some random fags on TL that do not like Stephano, some of the pro players (idra+tyler) have said (on SOTG) that his style is very weird and when it gets figured out he wont be nearly as good. Artosis said the same thing and if everyone knows anything about Artosis, as soon as he sees a glimpse of skill in a player he talks about them like there is no tomorrow. Please point out the "weird" part of the "style" is. The only "stylistic" matchup is his ZvT. He plays 100% standard in all other matchups. I don't even know (but recognize) this "stephano style" and what's all about. He used to play standard muta-bling even in ZvT (with amazing baneling burrow micro). Then I stopped watching his stream and suddenly he started doing ultra/infestors and people think that's the only thing he can do -_-' Really you guys are running out of excuses.. I agree, people who say he has a "style that will get figured out" haven't been watching him play. Stephano's style evolves constantly. However I have noticed that he is truly unique in one particular regard; he almost never makes banelings.
Because he use infestors allot in ZvT. So that's hardly unique. And shouldn't players evolve over the time? In what way is that a particular "style"?

Tons of well-liked players are from smaller countries than France.

Yeah it's very fun to hear Idra talk about "figuring style" when his teammate PuMa destroys him and says in the interview he does always the same thing, this should close all talks about Idra pathetic opinion

I am very much open to criticism of this hypothesis. I believe I heard some commentary about his lack of results at some recent events because his play is so stylistic and had been "figured" out by foreign pros. Do you think this might fairly characterize his success (abnormal) right now?

Stop jumping on anyone who doesn't immediately bow down before his Excellency, the Prince of Zerg. The guy you quoted was AGREEING with you, for the most part.
He just said we don't see Banelings much from Stephano. Which we don't.

Idra is quite well loved by the foreigner community. You are giving the haters too much credit.

Stephano amazes me. Really hard not to watch his stream. Same with July.

Obviously ladder doesn't mean that much... isn't Maka top of the ladder? And he isn't even in Code A anymore. However Stephano has already proven at tournaments that he is very good, so I don't even know what you guys are arguing about.

To be fair, it can be really hard to break through into Code A. The preliminaries are REALLY tough. Remember when DRG and MMA were stuck in Code B? Even MC was afraid of going through the prelims after he got knocked out of Code A, IIRC. In BW, there were tons of people known as "ladder bonjwas", who did really well on ladder and were really good players but somehow never managed to get through into Starleagues (similar to Bisu's Proleague gosu complex and Starleague failure in recent years).
For the most part, I agree with you. Just wanted to point out that being in Code B does not make a player poor, necessarily.

i love watching this guy stream, his playstyle is just so spot on
i don't really understand where idra is coming from when he says things like "stephano will be figured out" because his play is as safe and solid as it gets

You are confusing me and everyone else reading your posts.

I love the rise of these new players to the top. I'd say the "new school" top of the races are clearly Stephano, ForGG and HerO. I also love how the top 3 GSL point leaders are 1 of each race; MVP, Nestea, MC.

I don't see him finishing higher than 5th or 6th at blizzard cup, but it should be a good experience for him. Sorry I just don't buy the hype, he's been carefully marketed imo. And I'm not saying he's bad ok?

Maybe it's just my interpretation, but you seem to get really defensive. Not making banelings at all in ZvT and always going Infestors is, pretty much by definition, a style. Most players do make banelings in ZvT, and Infestors are not exactly a common replacement for banelings until the very lategame.
soupchicken wasn't saying Stephano was BAD for not making banelings, and yet you dismissed his opinion while saying "oh, coz Infestors" and "hardly unique". It's not so much whether you are right or wrong that annoys me, just your aggressiveness. Again, if it was just carried over the Internet badly and I misinterpreted your tone, sorry. But it seems like you're trying to start an argument.
