Now Stephano has signed a "real" contract (working contract ? don't really know the way to say). If COL goes to justice what will i do ? Nothing, the contract has no value. COL says Millenium does not answer to their mail, well, i'm streaming now, i'm not going to make lucifron and hasuobs (they were playing a koth for some money). In france we say that The best cure is prevention. And when you don't want to have problems, you don't do something like signing a contract in the middle of the night and putting it on teamliquid.net just to be sure to get it... I won't say millenium did things the best way, i don't say stephano did do things the good way, but complexity is not better... You don't think the same way at 6 PM and at 5 AM. Stephano did not have a better contract than what was planned, we just showed him that the contract with COL was missing things like "look here, they say this, but they don't say anything if this or that". Well my english is bad, and i was translating as i was listening him speaking on his stream after the "Défi Winamax" (Lucifron vs HasuObs), so he said a bit more, but i was too slow to write everything. Everything was not said in this order, as i added the last sentences with what i had writting on a paper, but didn't have the time to write here first. Who are you? Why did mill/Stephano not read the contract before signing it? why not wait until morning?

K. so I'm not happy that the contract was signed at X am time in french when there's something retarded called timezones. Also, it doesn't invalidate anything if it's at Y am or Z pm. COL says Millenium does not answer to their mail, well, i'm streaming now, i'm not going to make lucifron and hasuobs (they were playing a koth for some money). "I'm streaming.... that's why I don't answer my emails" wat. now if police are knocking on your door, and you're streaming, are you gonna answer the door or just stream?

(Especially if they offered more money) and stephano may have made a naive mistake with some kind of verbal and/or contractual agreement singing/verbal agreement. I think the best thing to happen is for CoL.(Complexity) to leave the situation alone legally. Since it would cause an unecessary Shit Storm. Also, after reading the whole thread it seems many people are saying that the Contract isn't valid in France; or Stephano has a whole month since the day Stephano was binded to the so called contract. Col should just leave it alone let Stephano Stay on Millenium and let the Situation go away. Complexity will Exacerbate the Situation by taking Legal Action. Let Stephano choose for himself; seems he has a way to work around the contract according to French laws people are saying. All in all hope Stephano the best in E-sports. Such a talented Zerg player.. ![]()

Lot's of people can always say that a contract is "badly" written or it has "no value" but what I can say is that our contract very clearly spells out what we will provide and what is expected from the player. So maybe the focus should be on if someone understands the offer and accepts the offer and then signs the contract, that is probably a tad bit more important than if some clause that is necessary for a French contract is missing. The intention of a contract is for an offer and acceptance as well as all that is required of both parties and I can safely say that our contract spells all of that out very clearly. There is no doubt that he was getting what he asked for and he should have had no doubt what he was asked for in return. I spoke to him for weeks and answered all questions. So sure we could all spend our lives focusing on something that is not worded correctly or something that is "missing" because I can assure you there is probably not a "perfect" contract out there. The more important issue is did he know what he was being asked to do and did he know what he was receiving in return and did he subsequently sign the contract and agree to the terms as they were? And the answer in this case is absolutely. I honestly find it very hard to believe what Llewellys is saying right now on his stream (according to a previous post in this thread) that coL. never contacted Mil about this. This is too much waffling back and forth for my taste. If you sign a contract, you sign a contract. Get legal counsel beforehand before you sign anything. Otherwise, man up and honor it. At some point the line has to be drawn because there have been far too many instances of players breaching contract with 0 consequences.

That being said however, Stephano signed a legally binding contract, and has to uphold his end of the deal. If eSports are to grow, contacts should be treated with the same respect as the ones in professional sports. A Catch 22 situation: They either get nothing and eSports loses legitimacy, or they acquire Stephano without his consent, who will not be playing to his fullest potential.

Stephano got super excited when he realized he could chose. ... Seriously though, i agree. Guess It's a french thing

"4) Yesterday Stephano contacted coL.CatZ and our COO Jason Bass to inform them he had made his final decision and told CatZ "Don't worry I won't change my mind again." " So he apparently had been changing his mind atleast once, promising though that this was the last time, and is now saved by french law to do this kind of move.

But he got cold feet an spit on the whole contract so grz now u stay for ur whole sc2 life too Mill. After this drama none of the major teams(mouse,EG,TL or Dignitas) would sign him. your assuming stephan wanted to go to MLG.. he has the hype now playing in france only but when peddle meats the metal and hes in the booth hes gonna have to face proven foreign legends like Drewbie and Machine.

Now Stephano will be stuck feasting on baguettes instead of training with the best in the world. Good luck to coL. This whole thing sucks for them and Stephano, wether he realizes it or not User was warned for this post

I'm just glad Stephano pulled the plug now, coL doesn't need players who don't want to be there. "french scene" lolplease. the french scene is 100% french and stays in french (aka doesn't want to go international) so gl making it big. MLG and Korea would've made you infinitely better >_>

Maybe not, I really don't know, but that's exactly what it sounds like just based on the content in the OP. Also, I never really noticed before but they spelled Millennium wrong.. lol.
