If nobody's said this already I think you deserve an honorary masters in SC2 studies. Make the post 20 times longer for the doctorate :-p

When taken out of context, both are completely arbitrary statistics that don't tell you anything meaningful about the skill of the player. Your APM can be 50 but completely wasted on moving 6 lings around the map til you lose. Your SQ can be 50, but you can dominate another player with an SQ of 90 because they're on one base, and you're on 8 base and maxed for 10 minutes. People need to stop looking at their APM and SQ and wondering why they lost. I can't help but shake my head when I see players say things like "I'm stuck in gold, but my APM is 150 and my SQ average is 90, so really I'm a Low Masters player, but I keep losing to cheese/imba/weird strategies."

The title should be "do you play like a pro" because this is the fundamental necessity of becoming good, good micro is the icing for the best of the best.

The main sheet where you can add games or switch between your races. Your 'Equivalent League' distribution (also according to results or matchups). More detailed graph of your 'Equivalent League' distribution My favourite graph; shows your SQ's and their corresponding Income. Same graph as the previous one, but this time the SQ's are coloured according to the matchup instead of the result. Cumulative Average SQ (based on result) Keeps track of your winratios in your matchups. It still doesn't require much input: you just have to add Average Unspent Resources, Average Income, Result (W or L) and the Match up (P T Z) in the Main sheet (='1v1'). Unfortunately I'm still not very proficient with Excel so after you've added a game (or multiple games), you've got to press the update button on that page as well to get some filters refreshed (which is necessary for some sheets to update their data). This Excel-file contains sheets for the 3 races so you can just pick your's in the '1v1' sheet, or switch between them if you play random. You'll probably notice there are some graphs that represent the same data but visualise it slightly different ('SQ ...' and 'Avg SQ ...' and their second versions 'SQ ... 2'). I meant this so you could decide for yourself which one you wanted to keep/delete, because I couldn't. If you want to delete one of them (or if you want to delete other sheets obviously): don't forget to delete the relevant lines in the macros as well. Link to the file: http://www.mediafire.com/?jvj4t7bqcryysyf p.s. You will be asked if you want to enable macros in this Excel file. You'll need to do this in order for them to work.

After I read this post I used a spreadsheet created by The_Austin (I believe). However I thought it'd be nice if some of the data was presented visually and secondly if I could analyse my SQ a bit more (Is my SQ different when I win or lose or in a certain matchup?). Therefore I extended his spreadsheet quite a bit. Here are some images of the most relevant sheets to give you a general idea. [snip] Keeps track of your winratios in your matchups. Really awesome analysis, thanks! Seems like a lot of folks have focused on calculating and tracking SQ, and using this as a metric to compare vs. leagues. Which is great. I'm also interested to do the same for workers produced at a couple different time points through out the game (e.g. maybe 15 min and 25 min, or whatever). I don't think there is enough info in the OP to do this however. Do you have a benchmark of average workers by race and by league for several time points? I.e. what is the average works at 15 minutes for a gold vs plat vs diamond vs masters Terran ... how about 25 min? How about zerg? Etc. This would allow us to then track and benchmark this metric as well as SQ. Thanks and thanks again for the ridiculously cool analysis!
