About "Ready Action!" Starcraft 2 Ready Action is a multi-themed daily show produced by GomTV and hosted by various Korean casters and commentators of the GSL. It is streamed live every night after regular GSL programs from Monday to Saturday. Formerly aired under the name Starcraft 2 Visual Radio, Ready Action has superior production quality and similar daily themes to its predecessor.
About the fansub project As Ready Action is currently only streamed on the Korean GomTV site and not offered to the global audience on GomTV.net in VOD format, we (OMCSubs) have decided to fansub a pilot episode featuring oGsMC, originally aired on April 28th, 2011.
We say "pilot episode" because we are trying to guage the Starcraft 2 community's interest and response to our fansub project. Because a full episode per day is no less than 3 hours long, the sheer volume of our work involved in translating, typesetting, encoding and uploading make a potential continuation of this project a daunting prospect without due support from the community to justify it. (If you're curious, it took over 16 hours to simply translate part 3, and the entire process took 30 hours.)
We seek no reward for these videos other than your enjoyment and some appreciation for our time and effort. So if you enjoyed these pilot videos and would like to see more episodes subbed in the future, please leave comments and tell us what you think.
tl;dr: it's a lot of work to translate these videos, so tell us if you'd like to see more.

P.S. We're currently looking to sub episodes with progamers mostly. The rest don't seem to be worthwhile and probably won't be translated by us. P.P.S. We'll be regularly updating here as new episodes are released, so please don't lock this thread.
Please keep them coming, this is hilarious and epic. Love your work.
Since I have experience within the short film business as an editor, i know how much work there is into subtitling and synching. It can be a PAIN literally said.
So I can only give you my 100% support, and my love for what you're doing. Keep em' coming <3
ST_Superstar's 24 hour Guinness World Record attempt is hilarious, especially since ThorZain's spoon killing in the GSTL made it so he had to start the 24 hour marathon at midnight instead of earlier. That would be crazy to sub.
This is awesome, excellent and a great service to the community. Thanks to all of you who put in a ton of time to make this possible, it shows and it conveys amazing insight into the personality and the playstyle of the Korean progamers. Please do more of those.
This is awesome! Of course we would love this, you just have to make sure you do your best so that the word will spread. When people put in the effort, people will come.
State of the game started out small, but because it was so amazing it grew and now over 10k people watch each episode.
No one had heard about the Reddit Invitational, but after the amazing production value and sublime quality, it was a huge topic back in the day.
Don't know why people are saying that there IS a nestea one(I probably missed it.) If there is one, however, I would watch that at least 3 times.
I've just watched everything and I must say those videos are amazing. First part was pretty funny. I liked how MC commentates his replays and it's amazing to see him play from a first person view. Great work! Can't wait for you guys to bring out part 3 !!! :D
Ohhhh my gooood this sounds so amazing!!! It's a few months old so hopefully most of the advice isn't outdated by now... going to check this out for sure!!!
dude im a terran player but this is awesome if you continue to translate future episodes involving korean terran players! if you set up a donation account i would be more than happy to contriburte :D.
WOWOW!! Thank you sooooo much to the OMCSub team for this!! You guys are what's so great about this community, that you would sacrifice so much of your time just to bring us this fantastic show. I know feedback will be continue to be nothing but overwhelmingly positive!! As a zerg player, protoss has always seemed pretty boring to me, but listening as the PRESIDENT OGSMC speaks his mind was eye opening and exciting (not to mention more than slightly erotic. should I be confused?) If I might make a humble request (back me up zergies) PLEASE make the NESTEA episode your next project!! You have saved us!! We are eternally grateful!! Thanks again guys keep up the good work!!
Even though i'm Z master, i did learn some importants things about it. You should all watch this video. Freaking good work @ the subs. Really, Thank you for your amazing work. Those were 110 minutes well spent.
I watched the whole thing, even though I didn't expect to. MC is hilarious, as is the Korean commentator.
PLEASE TRANSLATE MORE! :D GomTV's been holding out on us with this show. They definitely should be translating it, but you guys did a brilliant job (and so much translating! 105 minutes!).
Keep up the great work, and put my vote in the "Keep translating!" column.
It's an additional look into player's characters that we don't see during interviews, and a little gain into their mindset since they COME wanting to give something they know from high-level play. Do It!
Thanks for subbing the MC episode (is that the right nomenclature? episode?) Really like watching stuff like this - progamers in a relaxed environment and whatnot. Plus caster Lee Hyeon-ju is quite the QT ^^ Looking forward to seeing more!
Edit: HOLY SHIT MC CAN SING This is amazing I have the good fortune of being able to understand most of what's being said. You guys must continue these translations for the people that can't, otherwise they'll miss out on sheer awesome.
We have decided to translate the DongRaeGu (DRG) episode next. There are several reasons for this decision:
1) The general demand here and on reddit, as well as on YouTube comments seemed to want a Zerg or Terran video next. Many people requested the NesTea episode, so we were gonna do that next, but...
2) The NesTea episode is very outdated and NesTea does not talk much! We feel like overall there is more information to be gained from the DRG episode than from the NesTea episode. The NesTea episode will be translated at a later time, if there is still demand for it.
In the meantime, we made a twitter account and will be posting little updates on our current progress there. So if you would like, come follow us there too

Wow, that is so awesome :D I am forever grateful to you guys ^^
So we had a few suggestions, such as placing the subtitles a bit higher so the progressbar on youtube would be visible all the time. To me this looks kinda odd, since I have the YouTube bar hidden 90% of the time, unless skipping through a video. I can imagine that this would help with skipping, but what is the general opinon? Keep the subs as they are, or adjust them more vertically to not be hidden by the progress bar on YouTube?

hey guys i was just watching this and i noticed at 13:55 MC sets his camera to his natural and explains he uses standard- he then quickly moves between his natural and main. i didn't recognize anything when mc went to the options menu to change to standard, can anyone explain? how can i hotkey a spot on the map like mc did?
haha, i was going through the DRG fanclub and noticed the link to his ready action vid. immediately i thought "OMG must request in that one ready action sub thread" only to find it's already in progress! :D
thank you very much, i'm going to watch 100% of the videos you sub. it's really great that someone's doing this.
It seems as the 1.5 hour episode we subtitled has been removed from YouTube. The interesting part is that it is not GOM that claimed the copyright, but an obscure fake company from Russia. If you Google them you will find tons of related similar problems. Their scheme seems to be to claim the copyright on various videos, and hope people do not fight it. Then later they will unlock the videos again and put their ads on it. This works because YouTube gives content owners the possibility to keep the video on the site, but claim ad incomes.
Now, of course we are in no position to fight this copyright claim -- since after all we are not the copyright owners, but neither is that Russian company. At the moment I am considering to attempt contacting GOM so they could maybe claim the real copyright, and then earn from the ad income. On the other hand they could of course also entirely remove the video.
So, I am not sure what to do. If anyone who appreciates what we are doing (and like us - considers it fair use in terms of copyright) knows any of the GOM staff - maybe you could help out with advice here.
Naturally we would be fine with GOM claiming the copyright on this or even better - give us permission to continue these. If anything, we do not want a random Russian fake company to be earning money from content that is not theirs. YouTube really needs to work out their contentID system a bit more, so things like this can not happen.
Until the fake company decides to unlock the video again with their ads - it is down from youtube entirely.
I am not sure how the outcome of this mess will affect this entire project. Unless we can maybe somehow work something out with GOM to stop the fake copyright claim we might be forced to release text subtitles only in the future, or abandon this project entirely.
Do GOM require a season ticket or charge in any way for their Korean viewers to see the episodes? If not it'd be surprising for them to have any objection to allowing the project, so it'd probably be safe to contact them.
If they do then I'm not sure. :[ But if they can be made aware that there is interest in this content amongst the foreign audience it might lead to some positive cooperation.

They are free. I think you can even view them with the English gomtv.net accounts.

This is fuckin messed up... anything we can do to help?
You can watch videos for free on GOMtv.com (.com being the Korean website) and you can watch all the games for free and other shows but it is all in Korean. Until this is resolved I would say put it on a torrent so I can download it! I think people should subtitle more Korean Starcraft shows, Japanese anime gets the good treatment all the time. Not hatin'

There were no copyright issues with GOM. The ones that claimed the copyright are a fake company from Russia who make money by this scam scheme. Check the post above for some more info on them.
We are going to contact GOM directly and see if we can get official approval on these - since afterall they are free for the Korean viewers and subtitles should help to promote GOM under a fair use copyright agreement. Depending on the outcome of this we will decide how this project will go on. That is why for now we only subbed the teaser, and not the entire episode (nearly 4 hours or something).
If GOM does not reply - the "Russians" will probably continue to flag these videos with their fake copyright notices. And since we cannot legally prove this to be wrong with Youtube, unless we get GOM approval, that scenario would likely be the end of these on Youtube

That's what I meant by dealing with the GOM, apparently you need their help to protect your work from this scam russian company, it seriously sucks if you're not able to continue this project because of this . I hope you'll sort it out, you're doing an awesome job.
I tweeted the post about the russian company blocking the content to GOM and John the translator. Hopefully someone reads it and brings up the fact someone is making money off of their content. Maybe they will host the fansubbed videos themselves? at the least I hope that we dont see some random company make money off of GOM's content.
Good news everyone. We have talked to the GOM guys and we found a solution. We will continue to fansub this series and all the current and new episodes will be uploaded directly to the GOMTV Youtube channel!
This means that the MC episode will be back online soon and that we will be able to continue working on the DRG one.

hahahaha the DRG makeup and MC dancing. Thanks for these

Just want to let u know how much I appreciate the the subs. Too bad the 1,5h episode is down . Wouldn't it be possible to host it elsewhere if there's no copyright problem with GOM?
Maybe you could put the youtube channel that you used to originally upload the video in the credits of the videos. That way if someone steals them they have a video that says "uploaded by OMCSubs" in there.
anyone give a brother a hand. I cannot seem to publish the map NosukVision 1.82. It keeps telling me that the document is not named when I gave it a damn name!
I just discovered these gems. Awesome work! Very entertaining! Love the format and getting to know the players better in a native language setting.
Will there be more subtitled episodes in the future? It seemed like the copyright problems were worked out and at least the MC episode was uploaded fully to GOM's youtube account a while back. But there has been no activity on the @OMCSubs twitter account for a while and I only found the clips in the spoiler below. + Show Spoiler +
Has the format been canceled? Or did GOM not want to host this on youtube anymore?
Would really enjoy more of this. And I hope the female caster Lee Hyeon-Joo will be back soon!
As the last message in this thread is only from the end of January this year (thus not that old), and since the OP account seems to be a secondary account with no posts recently, I thought I'd post and ask here directly in the thread for better visibility. This way also more people get to see this awesome work.
