to me every time I see PvZ or even PvT it feels like the protoss lacks a "proper" AOE unit since damage from gateway units are pitiful. I know exactly what you mean. Protoss should have a gateway unit where you can research an ability to summon a lightning storm which kills everything that stands under it. | ||

Your build is no reaction to anything, your build is something that you set up previously, even though you vary it, its by no means a 'REACTION' to a blink stalker allin. If you scout and see no nexus at 5 minutes you can assume that there is aggression coming from Protoss. So long, as you have scouted so late I assume you have no reason to assume its blink stalkers. It can be proxy robo, blink stalkers, dt, stargate bust... there can be various things and all that you can only assume if you actually figured he has no nexus. If he intercepts you before you could scout the location, you are left with a decision blindly. Do you still go for hellions or mines? The appropriate answer to a scouted blink with your build would be getting tanks, as this would allow you to at least put down your already delayed expansion and tech towards medivacs / bio with it. As it stands, mines (as previously mentioned) help in the defensive but can be negated by a good Protoss and he'll be building stuff faster than you. A one - barracks marauder production really isn't sufficient to outdo a 3 build stalker pressure not even going to guess what happens vs a 4 gate stalker allin. While you are producing bunkers mines and marauders, he'll be either sitting in front of your base picking off your wall, barracks or simply harassing/containing getting his own expansion teching to storm. If you defend a blink-pressure/allin perfectly and he still threw the nexus, he'll have storm before you can hit him. ALWAYS. If he doesn't fuck up. Thats why I mentioned blink allins/pressure builds are so dangerous. Even though they should be allin, they are not due to the fact that you don't need to overcommit/warp stalkers constantly, but can take an expansion and delay the Terran ones forever. Now you are in the situation where you have put down mines, bunkers and your expansion - how do you proceed? You cannot move down with marauders and mines, there's no way. So you possibly need to sneak out a medivac with a mine drop and I potentially dare to say, a good Protoss will lose a probe all 40 seconds to a mine, while continuously mining / having an expansion / stormtech or robo on the way. So now tell me, how do you believe you would fare against a Protoss on my/Dwfs level, because I can guarantee you that every Protoss that knows the build and is capable of playing it will win right out OR be in a very advantageous position against you. To finish off, I want to explain that you (people like you) are the reason lots of good players give up on giving advice, because they are so stubborn and will not listen. I have 1100 games this season and I played Protoss from semi-pro to very top european pros (MaNa for example) so I tried tons of shit and the reason I told you your build doesn't work well is, because it does not. By the way I used the build you described lately vs Protoss regardless what they do and there is a huge difference even between a 1600 point master and a 2000 point master Protoss dealing with it and even along the same points. Some people realize it and defend well and you are way behind even against an expansion and some people die to it, doesn't mean the build overall is solid and by no matter a REACTION to anything. | ||

I was not insinuating that " I " could perform this at a higher level but that someone at a higher level could possibly make this work into an effective strategy that gets Protoss off gaurd. Sorry to piss you off but you have to realize you are not the "All Say" of every strategy of sc2. I will always be willing to learn new things and if this strategy is completely unusable than big whoop worth giving it a shot as oppose to always playign the same reaper expand or cc first and losing to blink stalker 60% of the time vses trying something that will only make it 40% of the time..... Edit: I would like to know how a Deviation based off what you see is not a reaction? I don't usually do confrontational things and I'm not about poking the bear I just don't like Stonewall No-sayers..... | ||

Protoss has Recall/Warp-in while Zerg has Creep/mobile static defense. Both of these are incredibly helpful in base trade scenarios. | ||
