Haven't found a right place to post my nooby questions so I'm just asking here! (I play Protoss)
(1) I feel very uncomfortable if I play against a zerg having in mind that I want to open with a 1 gate expand (and transition into 3 gate robo most likely trying to execute a 2 base collosi timing push) and my zerg opponent starts with a 15 hatch. I always have in mind that I should punish this greedy action but I don't know why because I have not enough units and production buildings to really push while he gets out 10 zerglings in one wave. So what to do against that.. I have generally problems with keeping a zerg busy and from droning up and just attack for example with a tiny push in the beginning. if I expand he always gets roaches before my push(and I'm damn afraid of roaches...) And yeah what I need is how to punish 15 hatch if I want to expand myself and how to execute those tiny pushes in the beginning that do so much damage..
(2) How should I defend a blind Protoss expansion (he doesn't know what I am doing) when he spends a lot of his first minerals in sentrys to have a lot force fields for defense? if I wait for my observer they sometimes already have the expansion finished when my observer reaches their base.
Thanks for any tips

I decided that I need to rest and define my BOs and openings and then begin to train them, after MLG I should begin playing again and I intent to get to gold :D Hope it helps ^^ YEaa mate thank you. Thanks for any tips Hello mate. I play terran but I think i can help you with part of your questions I see a lot of tosses to get the early stargate and go 3-4 fenix with a void ray. and it works a lot but it is very micro build. And during the harrasment you can expand. To make zerg to turn larva into attacking units i personally just move out like i want to attack him and make sure he see my army moving and once i am in front of him i back up. Also you can look up into DT teck( not opening but mid game or late game). And afther 1.4 patch the warp prison will be buffed so that could help you a lot. I do not know how toss is punishing 15 hatch i can't help there. 2) Hard to say for me but. I watched a games of Pro players where they go sentary heavy for the force fields. Once up to a X number of those they expand but you may want to check protoss forum in general and Youtube vids

Lots of good responses in here from very good protoss players. Fire away with any reasonable questions.

Hey I've been playing starcraft some and starcraft 2 a decent amount. I just started getting into sc2 and my buddy is a top diamond league player but is too dumb to teach me good techniques. I usually play protoss decently. Does anyone have any tips on what builds would be best for me to become a decent 1v1 player. Also any ideas for 3v3??

i just followed the link above and posted in there thanks for the help

Does anyone know when 1.4.0 will come live? Around in how many weeks or so, any clues?

I am in a league division with only 3 people. Seriously, there are 100 spots for other people, but there are only 3 including myself in my division. I feel like I should either lose a bunch of games to be demoted then win a bunch of games to be put in another division OR just shut up and be happy. I am number 2 in my division. #3 has 11 wins. #1 has 130 wins. I have 50~ wins. I feel like if I stay in the division, I'll never be promoted. Is this how this works?
What do?

Your division should fill up as other people get promoted or demoted, unless there's some problem with the ladder, but typically it's just a result of it being a new division. To answer your more wider question though, no you don't need to get yourself demoted. You will play people from other divisions at around your MMR that are laddering at the same time as you, and the division only exists so you can compare yourself and compete to be the top of your division but it has no impact on anything really until you're rank 1 GM.
You don't need to be any specific rank to be promoted, so even if it's only the 3 of you you're promotion prospects remain the same. If you work on winning games your hidden Match Making Rating will increase and once that hidden value reaches a high enough level you'll be promoted regardless of your current rank. I was, for instance, not even in the top 10 when I last got promoted.
For a more in depth analysis of how laddering works if you're interested see this thread:

No one knows, but I'd bet September 13th.

Sorry for being random right here, but is the server for Battle.net down in SEA? Can't seem to access their website too. :\
|
There's a thread in SC2 Forum that tells you. Right below this one. BNet Status, US: Online, EU: Online, KR: Online, SEA: Online

Anyone know what ever happened to Masterasia? The zerg player.
|
Something just hit me the other day, why do you need an infestation pit to upgrade to Hive? It just seems an incredible random choise. Why not a Spire, Hydra den or an infestation pit in order to upgrade to Hive?
|
I guess they're just trying to keep with what they had in Brood War, where a Queen's Nest was required for Hive tech. And since the Brood War Queen performed the same role as the Infesetor except worse, Infestation Pit is required for Hive.
Also, since I can't create threads yet, does anyone know what Blizzard's NA Starcraft II servers' IP addresses are? So I can do stuff like try to ping them? So that when I disconnect, I can figure out what the problem is?
I swear one of these days I'm going to just get my own personal router, these disruptions are ridiculous.

Can anyone suggest good ZvZ builds for me? I always have problems early game when they can pump speedlings and I can't.
