If this is so controversial to you, tell me of one other team that actually includes a girl. Obviously you are not well invested in the starcraft community, otherwise you would have seen the uproar over Slayers_EVE. May I remind you that we are not the first only-girl team. If you are so outraged with us, kindly include that outrage with clan PMS lest you sound hypocritical. This thread is not about clan PMS, it is about femFX. The whole reason I am upset is because we are going through this debacle yet again. I remember when PMS was created, there was a discussion on gender equality. People were mad, but eventually forgot about it since no one from PMS has made it very far in MLG or other popular events (although I may be wrong). And perhaps you would be better off asking why more prominent teams such as EG, Liquid and CoL do not include any women in their roster instead of wagging your finger at us for having no men. Others have said it better than I will, but the reason they don't have any females is because there aren't any females good enough to join. For example, Spanishwa is a recently graduated highschool student. He started entering and winning tournaments on his own accord before he was invited to vile. It takes a lot of dedication to have a real life and become good enough at starcraft to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, very few women have taken it upon themselves to rise to the level where they could be invited to a professional team. EDIT: On August 09 2011 09:39 NaviListen wrote: "Sexism" implies that we believe there are characteristics to one's gender that directly affect their abilities. Exclusivity does not equal sexism. It's not a girl-only team because we believe men are inferior or superior, or vice-versa. I can't change your views, but you are quite wrong on that front. Thank you for the good wishes. I can't believe you are arguing that. Think about the civil rights movement. You cannot tell me that if there was a "Whites Only" team for starcraft that it is not racist. If you do not think that men and women have different level of abilities, then have a team that discriminates against men?

Why don't you go and protest the local college/university chapter of Society of Engineers or some shit? If you don't like the idea of this team, then don't support them and stop posting in their thread. I, for one, am for any new team in SC2. Also, where does it say that you have to be good at this game to start a team and post a thread on TL. I can start a team with the two homeless guys downstairs and publicize it here. It's about community and mutual support for a game that we all love.

Setting up a team is just as much about creating a atmosphere where people can improve together, compete together, and more importantly enjoy the game together. Loved how this sums up my own thoughts as well =) We have people all the way from bronze to masters, from very casual to seriously competitive. It's just the beginning, and no one started with a whole crew of top level players =) How does one become a male coach of said female team?! By not only being an amazing player, but also being a super cool and chill person, of course > ![]()

The only reason I care is because it's teams like these that are holding back Esports. If a non-gamer comes and looks at these female only team, they will think to themselves that they are for a female only league. But when they learn it is just discrimination, they are going to laugh at Esports and never look back.

Sexism is a word to describe a general mentality spanning across a large group of people. If someone has a female only team then its discriminating against males. Obviously you are saying that males cannot join. But this is not sexism. If girls were dominating a genre for more than a generation and insulting someone for being a male; then that would be sexism. There is no issue with creating a girl only team/tourney/league as long as women are underrepresented and the target of prejudice. Women are very underrepresented and the target of much prejudice in video games. If gays were viewed equally in everyone and their fathers' eyes there would be no gay pride parade. The male only league is like saying there should be a strait pride parade. Its hard for me as an educated and tolerant human being to try and explain something that seems like common sense to me. Women are underrepresented in ESPORTS and often abused as a result of ignorance. These women are making their OWN community and they can accept whomever they choose! Their goal isn't to win the GSTL but to help ESPORTS. People like Kallozar are victims to the hereditary prejudices society has been endorsing since things like blindly following the church were common place. Remarks such as his hurt ESPORTS ;p People with opinions similar to "this segregation moves in the opposite direction further isolating women" (roughly translated from the original barbaric) should site Einstein - "You cannot fix a problem with the same mentality that created it." Everyone is equal. Those that are not treated as such have every right to stand up and give themselves special treatment in the face of oppression. I wish you all the best in your starcraft enterprises be it playing or otherwise, the web site/logo looks sexy. This is a great way to help ESPORTS and women. gl hf gg Why thank you. I am now famous. woot! Anyway, I believe SlayerS is doing a better job at helping E-Sports then this team is. SlayerS recruited a female to their all male team to prove that women do infact play SC2 and can hang with the rest. And I wouldn't be suprised if they keep doing it and other SC2 Korean teams also pick up female SC2 players. Plus look at it this way....How better to improve...would u rather play against bronze level people all day or against High masters...of course High Masters cause you'll learn new tactics and countless other things you will never see in Bronze because you're exposed to it. Yes they might get completely wrecked but with losing also comes learning. How better to improve then learning from your mistakes. Also how better to break the stereotype that men are better then women in everything then by winning a tournament that isn't only just females.... ~Kallozar

Or perhaps those anarchist threads? *sigh* The first 4 pages were surprisingly civil, but TL is still TL. Why we feel the need to tell girls what they can or cannot do I don't know. And why we get so offended by girls organizing themselves to create a better community for themselves I'll never know. But best of luck and that clan war should definitely happen.

And to those who don't: why are you so touchy-feely? what's the problem with just a bunch of girls getting together to play the game for fun? we're not threatening anyone & for some of us we just feel more comfortable playing amongst each other. Typically, girls won't go out looking for a "guys team" or one that's already out there & established because they just simply don't feel comfortable and haven't done stuff like that before. This team is just opening up doors for those who feel more comfortable just playing and not having to worry about rank/skills & other things some other teams would require. Guys tend to be more comfortable looking for other teams on the internet especially with people they don't know...For those girls who are newer & shyer to the community, this gives them an outlet to be more comfortable and open up...therefore having more girls enjoying the game & potentially get good enough to compete with the top pros ![]() In the end, it's all for the love of the game...so gl hf! BossLady out! xD

It has something to do with competing alongside your peers. I wasn't saying that it makes you better or worse at computer games, but the brains are different, which is what I said.

There are not a lot, but we do have female gamers around here, and we sure as hell would like to keep them. So stop flooding every thread like this with complains about girls only teams. Again, if the issue is so important to you, make your own thread. And if you disagree with the policy, make a thread in Website Feedback.

I've been warned for saying this in the past (i don't know why) but if you poll the people who are and aren't against this I guarantee you 99% of the people who are crying about a female only team are people who are in the lower leagues and are upset about not being able to make a team. Ask anyone who is in diamond-gm and they probably don't care and love the idea.
