His point was a team wouldn't affect any of that. How would it affect the new situations you mentioned? I don't see how this changes anything really. Do I think girls get more negative attention in the gaming community because they're girls? Certainly. Do I think they receive more positive attention as well? Absolutely. I think it evens out pretty well which is why it surprises me when some of them focus overwhelmingly on any of the idiotic super-trolls to place themselves as martyrs. I'm not going to comment on the team too much aside from saying I don't have enough of an interest to see a boom in females in the community to support this simply because it supports females but at the same time I'm not some kind of imbecile who'll shit on anything where women are involved. So I'll simply hold my judgements until we see their performance as a team, hopefully it can grow some decent female gamers to compete at the top level, and not just against other women.

There is no such thing as sexism against males in video games. Sexism is a word to describe a general mentality spanning across a large group of people. If someone has a female only team then its discriminating against males. Obviously you are saying that males cannot join. But this is not sexism. If girls were dominating a genre for more than a generation and insulting someone for being a male; then that would be sexism. There is no issue with creating a girl only team/tourney/league as long as women are underrepresented and the target of prejudice. Women are very underrepresented and the target of much prejudice in video games. If gays were viewed equally in everyone and their fathers' eyes there would be no gay pride parade. The male only league is like saying there should be a strait pride parade. Its hard for me as an educated and tolerant human being to try and explain something that seems like common sense to me. Women are underrepresented in ESPORTS and often abused as a result of ignorance. These women are making their OWN community and they can accept whomever they choose! Their goal isn't to win the GSTL but to help ESPORTS. People like Kallozar are victims to the hereditary prejudices society has been endorsing since things like blindly following the church were common place. Remarks such as his hurt ESPORTS ;p People with opinions similar to "this segregation moves in the opposite direction further isolating women" (roughly translated from the original barbaric) should site Einstein - "You cannot fix a problem with the same mentality that created it." Everyone is equal. Those that are not treated as such have every right to stand up and give themselves special treatment in the face of oppression. I wish you all the best in your starcraft enterprises be it playing or otherwise, the web site/logo looks sexy. This is a great way to help ESPORTS and women. gl hf gg

I don't see what's wrong if any group of people wants to make a team based on certain criteria, what matters in the end are results.

Like han_han wrote, it's about equality. There's a WPGA, and for that matter, a women's league in pretty much every sport I can think of... why shouldn't there be in e-sports also, competing for equally lucrative prize pools. Seriously are you living in 2011? or 1911? Equal opportunities for competitive gaming means letting women have their own league if they want it. Later, like han_han said, and the community is more open to it, they can start merging the two for competitive play. That's not to say that we don't have players that can and are willing to compete against male competitors... we do!! All of us are more than happy to kick a guy's butt on the ladder!! on my opinionated post tho... Nobody will ever win the Battle of the Sexes. There's just too much fraternizing with the enemy. ~Henry Kissinger re: clan PMS/H2O Most of us are all friends and have met each other through other social media, forums and on the ladder. I'm sure at some point we'll enter some friendly rivalry, or play against each other in the future for something other than a 2lb chocolate ![]() Ultimately for me, it's about promoting e-sports as a whole and trying to contribute something to the development of it. Sorry to everyone for starting the Female tournament debate again but how was I being sexist? I was more making a point about how I don't agree with tournaments that " Discriminate "(wrong word maybe?) against anybody if your tournament has a big prize pool(Do what you want with smaller cups and Im all for Cups for specific Starcraft 2 groups(if people want to make a 1k tournament for white males from the us feel free) but i was trying to specifically address segregated leagues or tournaments with big prize pools. An Example would have been NASL refusing Korean players the chance to compete in their Open bracket qualifier on the basis that they want to grow players from the US and that the koreans are already doing too well in the Groups and too many have qualified for the finals already. I want to specifically say that my point was not aimed a females but just in general! Hope This clears up my point of view and If you find a sponsor willing to back a league for 50k and you want to make it Female only, go for it and good luck but Its not an en devour i will support ![]() P.s if you want to reply feel free but i wont post back so it wont derail the topic anymore ![]()

Everyone is hoping that it "goes well" but what do you hope "going well" achieves? is this more of an infrastructure project? That would make a lot of sense. I am sorry, I meant to write "About your future accomplishments". I don't expect you to become professionel gamers or have exceptionally results as in huge tournament wins, but I do hope that you will feature yourself on forums and your webside so people can follow your development. As an average gamer who has "tried" to become good, but sincerly failed I know what odds and difficulties you are up against. Thus I can relate to you guys a lot more than to any other teams out there. I wish you the best of luck, and if you need help I am for sure one of several thousands of SC2 enthusiasts who are willing to give a hand. Just pm and we/I will be there ![]()

In my opinion saying that there should be seperate women's starcraft events is almost saying women, as a sex, are not as intelligent as men. This is obviously untrue. I think the slayers team has taken the proper route by brining on SlayersEve as the first female team member. Creating a team of only women doesn't help the sport at all. I think FemFx should go on with their current lineup of players, but not restrict men from joining. There is no sexual divide in starcraft 2 skill. In fact, seeing as women are naturally better multitaskers, I would not be surprised to see women begin to win a few tournaments.

I however, doubt that the e-sports community is at fault for that, there simply aren't that many females who enter e-sports and actually go through it, and those that do get a lot of respect (ToSsGirL for instance). While I'm not trying to say one should ignore Kallozar, one should not think that the entire scene is like that because of a single incident. Everyone is equal. Those that are not treated as such have every right to stand up and give themselves special treatment in the face of oppression. That is an incredibly stupid sentence, it could justify the Irish bombing the hell out of North Ireland because of "oppression", face it, women are NOT oppressed in a manner in which they have less chances of succeeding in a lot of things. And even if they are oppressed, your Einstein sentence still applies in irony at your own logic. You try to quit oppression by oppression of your own.
