As for AZ to EU, that's not nearly as important.

Most top NA players like Idra all have stated that they practice mostly on EU server, since the NA ladder is fairly poor.

Idra has also said that EU and NA is trash compared to the Korean ladder. Whether they're practicing on EU or NA they aren't on the Korean ladder. Lack of Korean ladder sounds like the handicap that matters. I'm not saying that ladder access answers everything, but the Koreans clearly have an advantage and that advantage is NOT the EU ladder.

Just curious, but has anyone seen a pro give a number for the latency they need for *practice* to be valuable?

...and many Progamer who play on the Korean ladder say that it is even cheesier then NA and EU.

it only applied to the morning ladder i think, that's when all the good players are still asleep, that's what he said on ladder.

This thread is pathetic so far.. nothing but jealous little kids. I'm personally glad to see a US team taking the lead and securing themselves a real team house, and am excited to see their improvement over time. EG has a sick lineup and while some of their players haven't really popped yet, if you take any time to watch their play you would know what they can do with some serious practice behind them. EG fighting!!

We are running a schedule. This isn't a verbal commitment or something this is our job. We aren't a mismatch of progamer friends living in a place we rent together this is our place that our team provided. And you can bet your ass we aren't being paid to sit in here and chill.

I'm not going to keep coming in this thread and talking about how hard we are going to work etc etc.. think it gives off the wrong vibe. Just please try and be a bit more supportive and stop the nay-saying. It doesn't actually help anyone. I'd like it if expectations were really high and you dared to be disappointed as opposed to setting them really low and risking nothing except to be a faceless hater.

you lie in the bed you create. you talk a big game on sotg/itg and haven't done anything to back it up. You're a polarizing figure with your forum behavior and constant sob story apologies. People are going to love you or hate you when you take on that role. EG is the focal point of loldrama so you'll have to deal with it. There really isn't anything for you to say at this point, your words hold no more value. You have to perform.

Even though I'm not a fan of incontrol, I do hope things work out for EG's SC2 team. Like I've mentioned in other threads they were always one of my favorite teams and I've been around esports for a longgggggggggggg time. They've been a disappointment so far but I hope this house changes that.

Pretty much this. This is a great post that really sums up how I feel, especially about Inc. He really isn't good at forum PR, constnatly contradicts himself etc - it would be nice if EG just stopped talking and started showing some results becuase I'd love them all too. Work hard, leave the forum drama for a while and come back with a bang at the next MLG and show some strong results please.

What does that matter? Cheese is part of the game. You could be the best macro player in the world; you would still be trash if you couldn't handle cheese.

So then why is everybody complaining about NA and EU cheese?
I know that it is important to learn how to defend from cheese strategies, but that's on every ladder.

because NA and EU cheeses are just bad, not refined.
theres nothing wrong with the ladders being 100% cheese (this is not the case but even if) because eventually you will have to face it in tournies.
its just a waste of time if your opponents builds arent even refined.
you think a protoss would complain if he had to ladder and get tank/marine/banshee all-ined every game by a competent terran?

Yea, it's time for EG to put up some results to warrant their hype and labeling themselves a premiere team. With the exception of Idra no1 has posted any results worth mentioning, except for a few high mlg finishes back when MLG consisted almost entirely of North Americans (I'm hesitant to count Puma's NASL victory).

I'm not going to boohoo about the negativity in the thread, but merely comment on how shallow or one-dimensional many of the comments are. Most haters in this thread seem to be focusing on the gameplay and/or tournament results coming from EG in recent months. Warranted or not, focusing merely on tournament results in a community that wants to grow E-Sports is less than half the battle.

I'd dare say that there isn't a team that has influenced NA E-Sports and especially SC2 interest as greatly as EG (bear with me Team Liquid, I have plenty of love to share), especially in these recent months. Incontrol, love him or hate him, has been a huge community figure for us all, being instrumental in the NASL, SotG and ItG casts, and being one of the few publicly available players on these forums. Idra's streams consistently get over 10k viewers at a time, and most of them aren't there for the dubstep, just watching Idra play silly ladder matches.

How many people attended the last Green Bay Packers practice? Over 9000?

Keep in mind as well that many of the SC2 community figures that we look up to are not getting into the upper brackets in MLG, or competing for that matter at all. Yet no one is in DJWheat's threads telling him to get better or shut up.

If it is EG's prerogative to use this house to increase their showing at tournaments and become better as a whole, that's awesome. I just hope it doesn't ruin the community involvement that many of us have come to rely on in SC2.

(TL's lineup is fantastic, and obviously we're all brought together on their forums. I completely recognize their contributions to this community as well, but they aren't under fire here. <3 !)

Great post. EG may not be the best team in NA, but they are Doing everything to make them selves better. So why the hate? From a team perspective they are great. Have 2 of the biggest players in SC2, and with Puma 2 great players. With the house they will only get better. Keep up the good work EG.

THey're progamers, you'd think their first priority would be to do well in tournaments and practice, not stream NA ladder, coaching and be on talk shows. The fact that Incontrol has been such a public figure has been grounds for a lot of controversy too.
