30 SCVs per base, 8 mineral patches+2 vespene geysers, 3 SCVs per patch/geyser. That gives a 4 to 1 ratio of minerals to vespene. This can vary slightly based upon the distances of the patches to your CC(for example, on Metalopolis you can get a slight gas increase by putting 4 SCVs instead of 3 on the farther geyser). But theoretically, if you start fully saturated in all patches+geysers, then when you get 4000 minerals, you will have 1000 gas.

![]() but 8 mineral patches x 3 = 24

Plus gold has less patches, and require less workers. Plus if you are floating gas, you may delay gas on an expo, so your mining ratios aren't always the same. If I am floating 3k minerals and have almost no gas I'd expand to increase gas consumption. Ratios of mining aren't always the same because of how musch faster you can get minerals to how much gas.

It contains analysis of the effect of mining close vs far mineral patches.

So on full mineral and gas saturation the gas:minerals ratio is 228:816.

Anyways, a search on the liquipedia will tell you a gas geyser brings in 114 gas a minute. So on full mineral and gas saturation the gas:minerals ratio is 228:816. thats true, thanks ![]() example: a collossi is 300/200 lets assume your break even 0/0 after you started building the collossi, when you have 200 gas again you'll have ~800 minerals wich is 500 to much for another collossi so you can build like 3 zealots+2pylons or a expo and a pylon/zealot to go break even again
