TSL do NOT pay salleries, FD and Tester were the only salleried players. If a player, wants to leave an organisation in which he puts 10 hours a day in...for virtually the CHANCE to make a living, would rather give that up to make a stable living, then that is perfectly fine by me. EG asked him if he wanted to join, I don't see the big deal, Puma obviously wanted to join a foreigner team. OrangeMilkis Wooju Lee Dug up the news article where TSL announced they're giving players salaries. They have salaries for ALL the players. Contract? Yes/No? 7 minutes ago Wrong.

Or did they offer him a contract/deal without going through mTw management. I think, and I believe Xeris posted, that it's fine to ask if players have interest in playing for you. But offering them a contract/deal behind their managers/coaches backs is a whole other issue. Nothing wrong with offering terms, they would still have to come to an agreement with the players current team though.

So it is purely for promotion during tournaments. He is a great player though so kudo's to EG. They want to fly Puma and have him win tournaments since no one else besides Idra is capable of doing that.

Not talk to player, don't bother talking to management of said player (if that is indeed what happened). So no its not completely normal in sports. You should what manager over here say if an opposition manager even mentions one of their players.... See Wenger and all the drama surrounding Nasri You're right -- professional sports is such a small world, that it's usually a professional courtesy to for a team to request permission to speak to a player, executive or manager that they are interested in. Could EG have handled it better? Maybe. But if TSL payed their players -- hell, if the Korean business model of e-sports made more sense -- they wouldn't even been in the situation where a high caliber player would entertain an offer from a foreign team. I hope this motivates other Korean teams to more actively protect their players, and give them better benefits, pay and living conditions.

A company approach a person they want and offer him a deal. The sports would can work a little different but usually it's set in the rules to create a fair "playing ground." All this talk about respect and class is just silly.

Alrite I'm going to indulge you on this. If your GF goes to another country, gets approached and offered a position as GF with another man AND she accepts, you probably deserved it. Lol, its the other way around. If she accepts, he probably should be glad he got rid of such a girl. I think we should approach this in a good manner. EG needs to show some respect to another culture, adapting and take care of their reputation as a respectable and honest team. Kind of dont go hand in hand with Idra so what the hell, great move EG :D

On the one hand it certainly seems unethical or disrespectful or EG to go behind the back of TSL management and work out a deal with Puma when he was over here. Especially if he was on contract. But on the other hand, perhaps It isn't foul play if it is what the player wants. There's a lot of name calling but the thread hasn't really convinced me of either side yet. Although I do feel sympathy for TSL. There should be some sort of contractual obligation. It's not like the Toronto Raptors General Manager can approach Kobe Bryant in a parking garage and offer him double.
