Yeah, because the rest of us that watched the show, heard all the facts, we're all wrong because some trivial TL user says 'no.' Really, man, your posting has been garbage in this thread, can you provide any facts to your negative opinions?

Milkis is not ONLY a translator if he's pulling together information on a topic from different sources to post a thread on Team Liquid. He's a reporter then. He's bringing us information, and in this case, he's bringing it selectively because he posts Coach Lee's response but doesn't even approach EG for anything to put into the report on the matter. How is he getting this blind rabid support? EG did nothing wrong. NOTHING. Puma was NOT A CONTRACT PLAYER. TSL has obviously been failing to provide for its players as evidenced by the exodus of players from its team. What has EG done in seeking a player for their team? Cut the bullshit, he approached the person he knows from EG, they responded with nothing. What you think he should call their head quarters at 3am or something?

How about not posting an inflammatory one sided report before receiving some information from one of the parties involved? This is common sense, responsible reporting.

I wouldn't want to read 300+ pages, but it's been said many times. If you are unsure, ask and I'm sure someone will inform you. Better yet you could always PM the source. Ugh.

The issue here is that one side sees this as reporting and the other one sees it as a simple translation, other then agreeing to disagree I don't think either side is going to convince the other of anything.

I disagree with calling him a reporter. The "reporter" would be whoever first released this information. Milkis simply translated already public information for non-Koreans so they could be informed about what was going on. This is pretty regular and the way translations have come onto TL.net for quite a while. This thread wasn't originally front page news. It was just a translation thread that turned into a shit storm real fast and probably became front page news just because of all of the attention it was getting. He's not bringing anything in selectively. The fact is that Coach Lee actually provided a response whereas EG has yet to release any official written statement regarding the situation. When they do release any form of an official written statement, I'm sure the OP will probably be edited to reflect that either by Milkis or by a moderator.

Until something is said by EG, if Milkis posts a news story that's clearly inflammatory and with only one side giving their statement, it's poorly done. He's a reporter. He reported this story. He's a translator and a journalist. It's his responsibility to not post one side of the story in an inflammatory subject like this! Come on, how is this not common sense.

Responsible reporting? You cannot be serious. There's a reason why organizations let alone celebrities have publicists/public relations. Once again, Milkes did nothing wrong.

It's really sad to see when a team treats someone like family and they go and SELLOUT. Betrayed? How is it betrayal? Person X has a job. Person Y offers a much superior job. Person X takes it. What's odd about this? This is a job, there's money and benefits involved.

My view - He didn't have a contract, he had no obligation to TSL in any way. EG made him an offer, he accepted and now his old coach is getting butthurt over losing their best player because he accepted a better offer. If you're going to invest time and money into a player, make them sign a contract so they don't up and leave after becoming good. Too bad so sad, think of it as a wake up call and get all your existing players to sign contracts so it doesn't happen again.

Am I a sell out, did I betray them? Fuck no, players aren't owned.

People at first thought KESPA was terrible and the players were slaves for being in iron clad contracts. Now they're slaves because the system currently is based on loyalty and trust. This is a really good point. People need to understand Asian cultures better -- looking up Confucianism in Wikipedia is a good starting point. Individualism is heavily downplayed in Asian cultures. Loyalty, respect, and mutual care are extremely important. The relationship between a parent and child, and between a teacher and student, is much more important. You can argue all you want about contracts and such, but if you want to do business in East Asia, and don't understand the culture, you are going to have ZERO respect and ZERO business.
