why does everyone save in xlsx format i wish there is a proper xls one. an xls format that i've found doesn't seem to help me. but nice screenshot anyway.. :D
|
That looks pretty sweet, might use this over sc2 gears to get stats, It's extra work but looks alot neater.
|
Looks very nice. Since I play random this would only be useful for me if I could insert my own race too.
Thanks, Sennap

Thanks, Sennap This makes sense, I guess you could have 3 spreadsheets, one for each race?
|
I made something similar for myself. Have a few different features in there since it was more for me, it isn't as pretty.

I wanted to have a bit more information so I know where I need to improve.

great post for the start of a new season coming next week! i kept a tally of my losses but this will be a lot more fun.

I think I prefer to keep using SC2Gears over this. Automatic replay-storing and a wider variety of statistics seals the deal. Nevertheless, it looks nice. One comment though, based on the screenshot, not on actual usage: The activity graph shows cumulative activity (as in, the sum of everything up to and including the day on the horizontal axis) rather than the activity on each day, which is a bit odd. Additionally, if you don't play for a few days, it doesn't show a flat line and then a jump when you start playing again, but instead it has no data-points for the days without any games, so it connects the last day before the break with the first day after. This way a user can't easily distinguish between playing 21 games every sunday and nothing the rest of the week and playing 3 games every day. Two widely different activity patterns that result in the same graph.

Two widely different activity patterns that result in the same graph. You can customise the graphs however you like, if you add data points it would solve the problem. As for the no. of games being cumulative, I think its easier to see where the majority of your games were racked up over a longer period of time. If you have a consistent training regime you should have a consistent line. Having the number of games played in a day would give a hard-to-read graph of spikes and over months of data would be unusuable.

Ok, I really love this spreadsheet and how fancy it looks, but I think it's lacking one key thing: an area to add map statistics. I like to track my win/loss ratio per each map as well so I know what maps I need to work on or what maps I should just veto. I would add it in myself but I'm really not that great with Excel, so I don't know how I would work it into your system.

Shouldnt take long to add in.

I really like the map stats and such, I wish blizz had stuff like this in your bnet profile. I'm sure my winrate on Typhon Peaks is god awful
|
I will INSTNATLY download this once I get home, well done good sir!

Downloaded! This is pretty cool. Now I can see if I finally play as many ZvZs as I think I do. :| Jokes aside this will be really helpful to see which matchups and maps I need to work on.

One other small nitpicky thing... In the overall stats and league stats, you wrote "loses" where it should be "losses"
Besides that, it's looking amazing. Keep up the good work!

Looks awesome for some basic information, but it doesn't really beat SC2Gears, plus you need to enter data manually. A replay parser would be nice . Good job though, I like the UI.
|
Looks very nice. I can't wait to use it. Thanks!.
|
A very cool idea, will be helpful during Season 3 as I am going to be taking SC2 a lot more serious so this will be perfect to keep track on what to work on. Although SC2Gears is helpful, I feel the act of actually writing in the results yourself would be more fulfilling. I have SC2Gears but I sometimes forget to use it or check the data >.>. Will edit this or post again once i can try it out =)

This is really cool, I like it a lot, Shattered Temple doesn't seem work for me though, do you have any idea why that could be? (Except for spelling issues, since i checked it already...)
Edit: Found it myself. The Formula said "the shattered temple" instead of just "shattered temple"

Sounds pretty cool, will definitely check it out!

Can you update this with the new maps? Or tell me how to add them. Thanks very much for the work.

it is awesome ! BTW it also shows how BAD Blizz is doing. I have to keep track of my own result while playing online!? lmao.. Will they put this feature into the game when they cerebrate SC2's 10th anniversary? lol

Nice work, and ty for this. I added in game length and APMs to see a few more things.
|
Thank you very much, i had made a very crude version of this, but yours is amazing, cant wait to use it!
|
I didn't even know this was possible with excel. Kinda like MacGyver.
|
|
one thing i would add is win % over a set number of games. i have made something like this, not as complex but the same none the less. the reason for the win % over a set number of games is because it is beleaved that promotions work off a moving average. the number of games is not specified so i did over 20 games and over 40 game.

Showing a graph to display the winrate change over a low number of days/games wouldn't show anything noteworthy

I cant download, mediafire ask for a phone number I put one but dont work :/

Hey I just wanted to say thanks for making this. It has helped me greatly.
I've been using this since late July and although I've run into a few problems with it, I've never hit a road block until now. I have no experience other then this in using a spreadsheet program. I've got this all set up in Libre office Calc and it works great, to one exception. I cant figure out for the life of me how to add more rows to the spreadsheet and actually have them calculate. I managed to play over 1,000 games during season 3 and have been struggling for the last few hours to get my latest games to calculate. I know not everyone uses Libre Office, But I'm sure that anyone in my position would run into this problem regardless of the Calc Program. All I want to do is add more rows, and extend the background area past 1,000.... Any Ideas of what I should be doing, or at least looking for?
Thanks again.
|
Thats really nice but im really sad that its not a program (like sc2gears) that automatically analyzes your replays T_T. Coz having to write down all of them manually seems very time consuming But thanks for this anyway
|
|
I already use a similar spreadsheet for my games but your one has a few more stats. This has inspired to try and improve mine a bit.
It's so disappointing that we have to do this rather than it being an in game feature. I love stats and it would be fantastic if blizzard would incorporate some more into the game.

Thanks again. Wow! 1000 games, congrats!
To add more rows I would suggest adding rows before the 1000th row, this should extend the calculation region further. So for example, add 10 rows on the 9000th row, copy these 10 rows and paste insert them. Copy the 20 rows, insert, copy the 40 rows etc.
l don't really have time to add the rows myself since im struggling to find time to do anything lol. I plan to keep uploading new spreadsheet with the new map pools though, maybe I will add more rows then.
Thanks for your great feedback and i'm glad this was so useful to you

Thanks for the help,
For some reason it just didn't want to add past 1,000 games. I did as you said and it still wouldn't add any wins/losses past 1,000. I ended up just started a new document for my most recent games. But thanks for the response, I'm still using it.
I look forward to the update for season 4 as the map pool has changed once again. I'll keep checking back!
Thanks again!

I'm using the same system (i5-2500k, 8gb ram, win7 64bit & Office 2007), but dont experience any problems with the spreadsheet. Even when im adding like 300 games, im still fine.

Yeah, since 2 or 3 of the charts are constantly updating from the 5k rows it can make it lag, i experienced this with 20k rows where it was un-useable. If anyone knows how to toggle show/hide on the charts I would be happy to add it since this would make the sheet lag-free
edit: Either toggle show/hide or edit the time-period which it updates the charts

I'd love if there was an automated way but I don't know how this would be done. I'm also pretty sure that it goes againsts the Terms and Conditions to mess with that stuff since it's connected to battle.net. Personally, i don't see it as being that annoying. I just enter it between games, it is very satisfying for them wins, and is motivation to win after those losses

There are some things going on in the "Map Win Rates" and "Map Stats" sections with the new maps when a win is input.
A win on Entombed Valley results in a loss on Entombed Valley, a win on Arid Plateau, and as -1 losses on Arid Plateau.
A win on Arid Plateau results in a loss on Arid Plateau, a win on Entombed Valley, and as -1 losses on Entombed Valley.
Losses on both of these maps seem to be working properly as well as everything else on the sheet. Also, I'd like to say that I've been using this sheet ever since you released it and have loved it. Thanks a lot for putting it together and keeping it updated.

For Those who are having trouble opening the file:
Microsoft Excel 2010
Click the File tab, and then click Options. Click Advanced, and then click to clear the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) check box in the General area. Click OK.
Microsoft Office Excel 2007
Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options. Click Advanced, and then click to clear the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) check box in the General area. Click OK.
Microsoft Office Excel 2003 or earlier versions of Excel
Click Options, on the Tools menu. Click the General tab. Click to clear the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) check box, and then click OK.

This also disables you from allowing you to open more than one Excel window. Tough choice.

So I just open the XLS and it automatically pulls the info out of my locally stored replays?? How does this work?
|
What is the best way to delete the data from your spreadsheet so that it is ready and will keep my data for this season? When I highlight everything it gives me 4 different options of shift left, shift right, delete row, delete column
edit: Figured that out, but is there any special place that I save it for it to update automatically? Or will I just need to update it manually each day?
|
Thanks a lot for the ongoing support, I really like this tool.

On February 15 2012 10:07 BioTech wrote: So I just open the XLS and it automatically pulls the info out of my locally stored replays?? How does this work? For those wondering, the spreadsheet doesn't grab data from your replays. You must enter them manually (after each game for example). I honestly don't know how to implement auto-updating stats, manually up-dating during que times takes no longer than 10-20 seconds. I guess that will have to do until someone who knows how to do this contacts me

I think you need to work with SC2Gears to get their numbers put into your spreadsheet =)
|
E: Nevermind, I'm an idiot.
Good job on the sheet!
Request: A column and some kind of statistics being shown for SQ-calculation?
|
On February 18 2012 16:44 AdroiT wrote: I think you need to work with SC2Gears to get their numbers put into your spreadsheet =) People believe that SC2Gears can do this already which is quite sad really because to my best knowledge it can't. You wouldn't believe the number of SC2Gears eliteists out there who shoot down every stat sheet without even looking at it. For this reason I won't be approaching SC2Gears but I'd still happily work with them if they asked. They could integrate it and keep it updated and i'd definitely use it if I start playing again for HOTS.

hmm season 5 works for me, but not season 6, as excel won't open with it... any piece of advice? I saw that the format changed from XLSX to XLSM so maybe there is something with this, but I am lost...

The difference is that season 6 uses macro's so need to be in a macro enabled spreadsheet, hence the XLSM. As to why it won't open for you idk, try looking through your options in excel to enable macros or google it or something

thank you for ongoing support for the new season

To prevent "#DIV/0" use =IF(ISERROR(equation,0,equation))
Example: Overall stats winrate vs terran:=IF(ISERROR(KL12/KK12,0,KL12/KK12)

I was using this fine up until this morning. Now I can't enter the date or save any new information, it won't let me copy any of the information either does anyone know why?
Also is there any way to just copy this over to a google spreadsheet?

The link in the original post is coming up as a dead link for me. Is there an alternate place I can get this spreadsheet?
|
|
sheeeet dead link was excited to kill some time looking at this
|
need a new link this looks awesome :D/

Wow nice shame about the vs Z lol :p
I will look into season 7 changes tonight so I can get it done tomorrow (hopefully)
I'm glad it's getting some good use and sorry about the link breaking (wtf? lol) - I have created an account with MediaFire now so hopefully it shouldn't happen again!

Will I be able to use my old stats from season 6 in the season 7 version? I realy want to keep track of my win/lose rate for a longer period of time.
|
On April 11 2012 07:02 Muckles wrote: Will I be able to use my old stats from season 6 in the season 7 version? I realy want to keep track of my win/lose rate for a longer period of time. Yes, just copy and paste your old data into the new spreadsheet.
|
Thx for the quick response i was just thinking it might be a problem when i also copy wins and loses from maps wich are not in the map pool in season 7.
|
Can't wait for season 7. Also, I've got some killer ideas of simple ways you can really make this even more awesome than it already is. I tried doing it myself, but I don't quite have the Excel Skills.
|
this should be pretty awesome

No problem mate. Stats from old maps will still count towards your overall winrate and winrate vsT vsZ vsP etc.
Season 7 sheet is up btw :D

Shit looks like those of us still running Office 2003 are out of luck. I didn't realize you used so many damn columns. It breaks the conversion to the old xls format.
"The Excel 2007 "Big Grid" increases the maximum number of rows per worksheet from 65,536 to over 1 million, and the number of columns from 256 (IV) to 16,384 (XFD). "

I was thinking that somehow the data would automatically be entered, but this is a cool idea....I fear though however, that I'll consistently forget to enter my wins and losses.

A sheet that tracks all seasons would be neat. Just have the user port data for each season.

Why use this when you could just use sc2gears?
|
do you have to upload every game to get your stats?
|
On April 12 2012 09:28 memcpy wrote: Why use this when you could just use sc2gears?
I see sc2gears as more work for more data. I do use both though.
On April 12 2012 09:33 cmcaneff5502 wrote: do you have to upload every game to get your stats?
You dont upload anything, you enter 5 columns of data manually; only takes a couple seconds.
|
Sorry I'm pretty newb at this, I dl the excel file, mark all date, race, win/lose and delete them. And then when i play a game i Enter the date, I enter my opponents race, did I win/lose, the map, and HIS league?
|
|
Thanks for the ongoing updates, great support!!
|
Anyone manage to get this for Google spreadsheets yet? For those who don't know what it is... docs.google.com free spreadsheet/wordprocessor/presentation software on the cloud by google.
|
Has anyone made a version of this for tracking team games?
|
i may even dare to suggest adding a lenght of game thing, that could track like 60% of all games are won within the first 10 minutes of game time If you get what i am saying?
This might be interesting to know
|
Why is it taking several hours to load in openoffice?
Edit: My bad, it got faster in the end and took only 20 minutes.
|
Is this going to be updated for Season 8? I really hope so. I've used it ever since it was released and it's awesome!

You're the man. Thanks again.

Thanks, now my laddering sessions can feel complete. It just wasn't the same without the post-game spreadsheet filling :D

Thank you for the quick version update. But I have to say that it isn't possible to select the race, win/lose, map or league in the rows form 225 to 227. If I try to enter something manualy it says that the entry is invalide. I hope I could describe the problem good enught for you.

I dont understand. Is it possible to automatize that process? Or you must open it after every game and edit, adding map and matchup?
Anyway, great and giant work!

Maybe - Looking into this now. Would mean having to fill in 3 more columns (and people are reluctant to fill in the exising 5 columns! lol) and not sure how this would fit in with exisitng spreadsheets with 1000s of games on. As I say - I'm looking into it but no promises

I had done one myself, but this one is way prettier. Well done !

thanks dude, that's awesome !

Every time I hit download it just refreshes the page for some reason...

Am I supposed to put the opponents league or my own league in the league column?
Awesome work btw. Don't bother me so much that it is manual. Just start Excel along with SC2 and enter the data after every game. Not that exhausting.

I am currently deciding whether to replace the league stats since this is not the best use of space as you rarely change league. And I have some ideas for more useful and interesting stats/charts! Look forward to it :D

I think you should left the league stats in. It is ture that you don't chance the league very often but when you are about to get promoted you will play a lot more better players and this realy helps to keep track of it.
If you want to add something just trow it in I would say because you have nearly infinity space .

Okay I realy like the new organisation line on the top and the new features, but it is a bit much to fill in now. I would say that it is now better then before and you should continue to make it like that (for every season i mean), because for the higher player it is realy helpful and if you don't want to fill so many cells after each game you can also leave them blanc.
I will not use this for now because i don't know if you are going to leave this desing in the spreadsheet but if you will continue with this new features I will use it for sure.
Very good work. :D

Having done things like this before, I know how much time that you spent writing this. This will absolutely help me and I greatly appreciate your selfless work!

This has to get more attention because I would love to see data like this implemented in Bnet. That would be a dream come true^^ So now I gonna download the new spreadsheet version Thx for your great work man!

will it mess everything up if i add a column for game notes? like "got supply blocked, didnt inject during battle" etc

After some experimenting i found if I add the column from VR (so the new column is VQ) it breaks nothing. Thanks for the timely response, i appreciate the work you've put into this :D

Very good work. :D Thanks man! The spreadsheet will be staying in this new format - I am only putting it through a bit of testing to try and find any errors in the calculations and get some feedback on the new graphs. The new data inputs will stay for sure so you can go ahead and use it. I have put extra time into making it so that it does not include your old data in the new "game length" and "SQ" stats and graphs. i.e. This just means your averages don't get messed up!
|
Short question: It seems like my graphs don't recongnice the month I entered. It worked fine till the beginning of june where I entered XX.Jun in the date column. So what am I supposed to fill in ^^.
|
for some reason it only shows the games that i played before i changed my name can i somehow adjust that? apart from that it looks fuckin amazing well done
|
|
yes i can find my new name on sc2ranks and then what?
|
Oh sorry, I ment to say your old name of course.
|
no i can't find my old name on sc2ranks
|
or you could just go to StatCraft.net and use his website that is always updated and is better than this thing.

I tried out v13 and got some issues with "today´s stats" as they don`t work although I entered the date for all games.

On June 26 2012 19:48 kuehlschrank wrote:I tried out v13 and got some issues with "today´s stats" as they don`t work although I entered the date for all games. The format of the date is wrong. Notice it appears "21.jun" rather than "21-jun". enter the date simply "21 jun" and it will enter it as a date rather than a word it cannot calculate. - To confirm this select the cell, and in the formula bar should be the date in the format 21/06/2012
|
This is so useful! I had something like this for myself, but it was nowhere near as pretty as this one:D
|
Can you add the average SQ somewhere? Edit: Maybe with an overview to se what you should have in your league.
Also you mixed up the possition of the Game Length vs Race and the Spending Quotient vs Race graph (it is not a big thing but maybe you want to change it in the next version).
|
Hey how i can insert my stats i dont understand it ?
|
Same question how can i analyse my stats... This only looks like some kind of an example WTF
|
Dunno if this is mentioned already but the SQ under Map Macro Management Stats are not being devided by the amount of games played
Antiga shipard SQ example "=HJ14" this should be "=HJ14/VT85"
=)

After your game you can see the stats in the game summary. Then you only need to enter this stats in the right collumn in the excel file.
On July 15 2012 20:14 Scepty wrote: Same question how can i analyse my stats... This only looks like some kind of an example WTF
If you mean the Graphs: You have to make some more games. The more you make the clearer they will become.

Is there going to be a new version for this for the new season? This time we got new maps.

If not, i just unhid the data rows and did a find and replace to take off TDA and Shakuras and replace them with the two new ones.

Life is hectic at the moment, but I will try to get an update out this month... sorry
