RootPrincess/SixjaxMajor caught smurfing in tourny - Page 11
Forum Index > SC2 General |
Page 26 and onwards I will issue at least two day bans to anyone who clearly has not read the original topic post and the explanations contained therein. He was barred access to the event days before the actual event took place and used some random diamond player his account to try and get in anyway. Leave the racial bias at the door while you are at it as well pretty please.

The problem was not the original thread where it said you could only play with an account. Major was explicitly told he could not play and still tried to.

This single stunt from MajOr has no impact on my commitment. I see amazing things happening all around the world - with events like IEM and Dreamhack in Europe, and the NASL/MLG in America. And of course the GSL in South Korea. As someone who has spent the last 11 years co-ordinating eSports in Australia (WCG, ACON, Blizzard Worldwide Invitational, etc), seeing the scene explode like this is a dream come true. I'm currently working very closely with a range of partners to grow the SEA scene, and if all goes as planned, by this time next year we'll see those efforts culminate into an "MLG Circuit" of our own.

Yes, he's in the wrong, and if he BMed the admin, bad on him. The admin has a full right to ban him from the rest of the tournament if he so wishes. Also, on a side note, would India count as SEA since I think they sell SEA in India (I bought my game in Indonesia). EDIT: Future tournaments, not rest of the tournament o.o

I read the chat log screen shots, the forum posts and anything else posted here and I've come to the conclusion that Major really is a dick. Fuck him. Even if he apologizes. No no no, fuck him. Kid wanted to play. Kid found an account even through it was a smurf. Kid played and did not win money. Don't see the issue. Even if he did win and took the money who the hell cares unless this is a tournament made to support the Code B players of the SEA region.

But regardless....you think its alright for players to do what ever they want to do, fuck what they were told by the admins?

He got disqualified luckily before he actually won it (assuming he would.) It's a big deal, because the tournament is trying to support the SEA scene.

How'd they get "cheated" anyways if they were going to lose in those games? I see....another person who didnt bother to read the OP and the link on it Yes. the rules were as definitive, but major was told clearly "at a later point in time", BEFORE the tournament started that he wasnt allowed to participate, but he decided to participate anyways using another players account (which should be against blizzard's ToS in the first place, and probably against most tournament rules). And how did those people he lost to got cheated so you say? Well, go place yourself in their shoes and see how it feels like then get back to us.

Major basically committed fraud to win money straight out of the pocket of the tournament organizer that was invested solely to the cause of giving the SEA region and it's residents a big tournament and rewards. You just don't care because it wasn't your region.

Forr those wanting to hear the other side of the story, I'm pretty sure it won't be as well written and justified as what Dox posted. Although in theory yes, it said that only the owner of a SEA account could participate, so if Major got one he could participate. However, there is a reason why we have judges and juries in society. It's because we have to obey the spirit of the law more often than the exact wording of the law. The purpose of the contest was to encourage SEA players, not SEA account owners.
