Tbf they weren't winning before MC decided to come, players like Select, Naniwa, MMA, July, Losira are just too strong. I think most people would say only Idra has a chance and maybe Kiwikaki.

SeleCT is considered American.

Pretty bold statement. I would say Idra is up there with zenio, Min, perhaps Losira.
Well, "isn't much worse" is a little misleading. I guess you're right, he's not "much worse", but at the same time he's far from having nestea's skill. The problem is that now idra train with not very good players (relatively of course), so it's impossible to judge his real skill. I'd like to see him against every MLG koreans to be able to judge.

At least in ZvP Idra is far behind the top Koreans.

Yes he is.

Eh. Maybe 3 months ago. Watching Idra, it really seems like he's vastly improved himself over the last few months, while many of the korean zergs are kind of stagnating.

While he probably isn't better, saying he's "Much worse" is definitely not true.

If Idra has to face MC first round that will be stupid. One of his hardest opponents up first and suddenly, oh its not Bomber anymore, oh and its a Protoss, have fun for the entire tournament Idra.

He'll most likely have been practicing his zvt pretty heavily for his games vs select and bomber. Then, two days before he plays, "sorry you're going to play the hardest pvz possible".

Well, at least he has a fairly good chance of beating everyone else in the group.

And the same does not apply to MC?

I think people are overestimating the amount practise pros put in for these kind of short tournaments. I mean specific opponents and matchups.

It depends on the pro, but I don't think they are, especially depending on the group. Most of the players when asked about their groups talked about how they planned on practicing specific matchups because their groups had three of a certain race, or how one player being the only one of his race in a group has a slight advantage because he has one less matchup to practice than the rest of his pool.

Now is it anything to get all worked up about? Not even a little bit.

As an overall player, no question, it isn't even close. Purely ZvT, I can see why you might say Idra isn't "much" worse than Nestea. Not that the logic of "Nestea beat Bomber, then so could Idra" is even applicable because they're completely different players.

He's not American. He was born in Korea, spent most of his life in Korea, I'm guessing owns a Korean and not American Passport. He's no more Korean than TLO is Swedish or Jinro is Korean, where you live does not define your nationality.

Have you seen Nestea play recently? The gap now is bigger than it's ever been.

I'm very hesitant to judge IdrA over the last 3 months. Who has he played?

I mean, he be rollin face on the ladder. I've watched his stream, hell, I have a mobile update for his twitter so I can know when he's streaming. But the NA ladder is notoriously blah (yes, I'm in silver on an awful ladder, shut up :V).

Love the Proxy Gracktory, but I don't think we can actually judge his relative skill right now. About 36 hours from now, we can start doing that.

Idra was one of the 'Koreans' at IEM Cologne as well I think. Doesn't mean much.

Yep. I would have loved to see him VS bomber, my personal main event of the weekend Idra vT is reputed strong, wanted to see this game so bad grrrr.

lmao what a sad day, the only korean protoss that has won not one but two GSLs and is winning every foreign lan he enters is considered a nobody and is supposedly worse than Bomber who hasn't done anything. Bomber's biggest accomplishment is beating MVP, who even Ganzi just beat in a TvT. None of the prior foreign invites are even close to as successful as MC but people are acting as if they are his superior when all of them just got out of Code A. People are excited to see July supposedly tear it up but MC is 7-1 against him.

Time for MC to trololo America.

He's definitely American, otherwise he would be in the Korean army right now. He wouldn't be allowed to represent NA in Blizzcon if he didn't have citizenship =/
