Yeah it's actually funny that so many people consider him American but at the same time nobody considers qxc Spanish or Jinro Korean

So if I understand this correctly, MC will now replace Bomber in the Group C of death?
This tournament is getting better and better, JulyZerg is going to be playing in the US. Just fucking awesome!

I think many people include Jinro and Huk when they say "Koreans" as in Korea based players. I have no problem with people calling Select a NA player. That doesn't mean he's a citizen though only the geographical location he's playing from.

what a bad news.... bomber...

Lmao. I'm Korean, born in Korea but have been living in the United States. I consider myself to be American. We weren't talking about nationalities it was whether an American will win the MLG. SeleCT fits that category.

Hey everyone,
Just to make it official, Bomber isn't able to come and MC is taking his place.
Official announcement: http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/news/an-important-change-to-the-mlg-columbus-starcraft-2-roster
Late last night, MLG was informed that Startale Bomber, one of the Korean pro players invited as part of the GSL/MLG League Exchange, would not be able to make his flight because of emigration problems he encountered while at the airport in Seoul. We are very sorry that Bomber will not be joining us in Columbus, and we are working to resolve the issue so that he can attend future Pro Circuit Events.
To fill the spot Bomber's absence has created in the roster and the Pools, MLG reached out to a player who we believed would be a spectacular addition to MLG Columbus, and we are very happy to announce that he, and his team, have accepted the offer. Attending in Bomber's place will be none other than oGsMC.
We share your disappointment that Bomber will not be attending, and we are greatly looking forward to his participation in future Pro Circuit Events. At the same time, we could not have asked for a better participant than MC. We'd like to thank him and all of oGs for agreeing to our offer on such short notice. MC will be taking Bomber's spot in Pool C; all schedules on the site will be updated to reflect this before the start of the Tournament on Friday.
I'm super disappointed that Bomber can't make it. We spent quite a while last night working with GSL and our contacts in Korea trying to find a way to get Bomber his exit visa. As I understand the issue, Bomber has an older passport which requires a paper application (as opposed to an electronic application) for an EXIT visa from the S. Korean government (NOTE: Not the US Gov't). Unfortunately, it takes 7 days to get this processed which is just too late for the event.
We're working to make sure that Bomber can come to a future MLG event and hope to welcome him soon.
I've been talking with the oGs folks for a while about getting MC and some of other great oGs players to an MLG. Thankfully, MC was able to come and MLG booked his flight last night a short 7 hours before he was scheduled to depart.
MC will arrive later tonight at 1130ET. We're very excited to have him here and wish him the best of luck.
One last note, the only reason we didn't make this official last night (Since everyone already knew) is that we wanted to make absolutely certain that MC was on his flight and was going to make it. I wasn't expecting any problems, but the last thing I wanted to do was tell everyone he was coming, and then say "OWHAIT."

Good news group C, bomber isn't coming...oh wait MC is sry.

I hope that WICKED Jet lag doesn't affect MC's play.

Constantly top 5 GM with 79% winrate = average player
Only on TL...

If MC fails to show results at MLG, I think my faith in him will have flickered out.

Keepin my fingers crossed. Inca is better than both at PvP. May be true in Korea, but Inca's yet to prove himself internationally. + Show Spoiler +He recently lost to Cruncher 2-0 in the FXO Invitational. His record in Korea is phenomenal, but Naniwa and MC have played (and had great success) in several international events. Until Inca has foreign success, I'll have to rank Naniwa and MC at the top. I wish there was a North American standout Protoss, but until then I'm thankful that the best are at least coming here to play .

But since when though. It's a bit different if you were born in Korea and within a month moved to America where you grew up and spend the rest of your life. Than it is to actually grow up in Korea and in the last few years move to America to study. One of the reasons he went back to America after he participated in the GSL Qualifiers was because his visa doesn't allow him to be outside the country for too long. Even though it's his own country.
And they are talking about nationalities, and so are you because that is what an American or a Korean is. It is a nationality. So for me, I would just go off the passport and if someone has both, like legit real passports you need to spend more than 10 years for to become eligible. Then they can be both and switch and stuff. Maybe it would be best to just leave it up to SeleCT himself. I think he would say he is Korean.
To note, because maybe you were getting at that. If SeleCT wins or does well vs the incoming Koreans, I would count that as a "victory" for the west since that is where he plays, how he practices and so in ways it is the foundation of his play. He'd still be a Korean though. Seulektah fighting!

Also Nestea beat Bomber very convincingly, and I really dont think IdrA is much worse than Nestea Yes he is. Eh. Maybe 3 months ago. Watching Idra, it really seems like he's vastly improved himself over the last few months, while many of the korean zergs are kind of stagnating. While he probably isn't better, saying he's "Much worse" is definitely not true. Have you seen Nestea play recently? The gap now is bigger than it's ever been. Ya pretty much, I don't even think Idra would do well in Code A anymore, and seeing him get completely outplayed in every possible way in two long macro games (one of which Zenio got off to an awful start) did nothing to change my opinion on that. Idra is just an average player that refuses to change his strategies and they have become outdated and stale nowadays
He credited his loss to Zenio due to him not knowing the metagame which pretty much tells us everything we need to know. He left Korea and is slowly falling behind.

It's no problem. Us North American players love how you guys are paying for them to come here to win the 5K tournament. I mean who in North American would want to see a North American player win anyways? E-sports in North American doesn't need to have that "Hero" to market the game around in NA. -_-a^.......

Does this mean that there will be another MC/Idra match? HELL YEA
