Im just curious to what you guys have your sound settings set as? Do you like to have the background music on or off? do you like to turn it off and play your own music? do you turn off certain sounds or turn up certain sounds? in game sounds, ambiet etc.. what percentages do you have them set at.
Im just curious i find some sounds more distracting than others.
Ok this is a stupid question, i donno if its coincidence or just in my head lol, im actually embarassed asking it. But the ingame music, I almost swear to god, it changes tempo to the game. Like when im ahead or winning i swear it always plays some sort of up beat tempo music, when im behind or getting my ass beat, it will play the slower depressing music. I think its just plain old coincidence, but man does it ever trip me out sometimes.

When I play multiplayer games with friends, we'll have some music on, (provided we're all together when we play) but that's just because multiplayer games are just for fun and aren't taken as seriously. Other than that, I find it can distract me from what I'm supposed to be listening for in-game.

i toggle music depending on if i'm watching tv or listening to music or not. then one day i noticed ctrl+m dont work so i just have the music off at all times. i turn off sound often (ctrl+s) whenever i'm watching something on the 2nd monitor.
i ladder on 1 screen and watch south park or something on 2nd monitor (depending on how serious i want to play) XD supply block is a bitch doing this.

iTunes playing FF soundtrack from Nobuo Uematsu. That gives an extra 50% attack speed to all my units.

Sometimes I have Foobar in the background but mainly just in game music, here's my settings: Master Volume 100 Enable Music 100 Ambient 100 Effects 100 Interface 100 and I also use Low for sound quality, although Low interface sounds like shit I find its fine in game sound effects.

No music, ever. I listen to my own music and as long as it has no lyrics it doesn't effect my game.

No sound whatsoever. Makes me more aware of the minimap. Its more relaxing too.
